I don't know, doing hard mode seems to make you a whole lot better at the game, I went through the challenges as they were available to me and I blazed through them without any of them taking too many tries.

Also, Dr. Ion is a jackass. His chest spawned in a SAND PIT.

yeah, i know. after beating hard mode, i can now almost keep up with evil gene on challenge 51.

Heh, well I'm not at THAT level yet. I still can't find a workable strategy for Azel, I can dodge all of his attacks except for that series of jabs and the pummel.

And Evil Gene I have to fist of god cheese.

no real strategy, just go super-aggressive on him, that's what i do. as for the pummel, try to backflip or sidestep. if he gets you with it, just hit the button a lot and hope for as little damage as possible, 'cause there's no way you're winning the pummel on level die.

I never lose pummel-fights with Azel. Are you pressing all of the face buttons?

One finger on each of the buttons (Triangle, X, Circle and Square) and just start mashing them (not all at once, of course.) You should win pummel-offs, even on level DIE.

It also applies to pummels and cobra twists and such, for increased damage.

I tried it a few weeks ago, it only activates when the psychic midget is dead. So you CAN skip the guys he summons if you just run to the elevator--but the midget has to go before it becomes available.

I seem to be having troubles when I play through on Normal now; I get up to Level Die way too easily and I just seem to suck at taking on enemies then.

Like one on one or multiples? Multiples are a bitch no matter what (unless you cheese them with a juggle move / mid-air roundhouse). Though single folks shouldn't be too hard. Plus there's always the fact that a good chunk of the fights that have two+ people CAN be evened with taunting.

Hell yeah, shame a sequel is unlikely, but it's hard to imagine how they'll exceed what this one has already established. If they did though, it fucking NEEDS Kenshiro's clothes as an alternate costume, preferably his HnK2 garb.

This was the hardest boss in the game for me. I don't know why, I just had a lot of trouble with him in particular.

Incredible music, but I'm not looking forward to fighting him on Hard mode. Funny, I was able to get pretty far fighting him on Level DIE in the arena on my first go, every other attempt doesn't even go successfully, with that first attempt I nearly beat him.
