Browne is a very shrewd barrister and a clever tactician who manages to exude the ostensible appearance of a courageous and investigative journalist while in reality he never exposes anything of any use or value to the people who pay his wages.

The issue is most certainly not about irrelevent shuffling of cabinet positions, its about the criminal and deliberate mishandling of the economy.

@sidvidkid Vincent is one of the few who treat's politicians the way they deserve. I like him because he expose's the speech of the politicians. In other words when a politician goes on one of their frequent rant's to side step a question (a trait that they are very good at, and one of the reasons they gt to their position in the first place) Vincent adresses this in what can be seen as a "harrang" but in actual fact he's just trying to get them answer truthfully.And that aint gona happen, ever

I think you are being blinded by his polished performances. He is playing to the crowd, pretending to attack the main issues but all he does is badger people over irrelevent side issues and never really acheives anything or exposes the real crimes going on.

eg: does he ever expose the undoubted criminal destruction and looting of the irish economy?

Its propaganda, designed to make the victims feel better while they are being looted.

What one 'likes' is not relevent.

The young dude in the troika was laughing at brownes grandstanding.

Browne was pretending to argue about the payment of anglo irish debt, i believe, which is an irrelevent point, but of course he would never get into the REAL issue of whether having a troika run the irish economy is legal, lawful or just. Also browne never spoke up when the lisbon treaty was being signed, when it mattered. its 2 late to debate about anglo now, the irish sovereingty is gone, troika rules

@sidvidkid Ok lets say I am "blinded" be his "performance". I dont see anyone else openly opposing some of our governments policy's. You have your opinion on his methods, and thats fine, its your right. But I would'nt categorize the paying of billions by the Irish people to stockholders of european banks that are circling the drain as side issue's.

@sidvidkid You dont sound like a person whose a "fan" of vincent browne, so this is probably wasted on you but Vincent did have a programme addressing the "unlawful nature of the Troika's policies.

dont forget that he's not the only one on screen when you watch the tonight show.

Theres usually some well known economist's on the panel who highlight some of these issue's, as well a rep from some of our joke parties.

God, that summer job analogy was suicidal. But it's not surprising and Ciarán Cuffe is not alone. Every public appearance by a member of our government is a reminder of why they are collectively so inept. Politics in this country is seriously flawed, as are the individuals it attracts. With all the current talk of reform, the most necessary and fundamental changes have yet to happen - those at the heart of our political culture.
