  • System Of A Down DESTROYED these cheesy gals.

  • @ChrisDaron This version will stand the test of time, SOAD version will not-- besides SOAD are posers

  • @MrsClippit Says you. I strongly disagree. This version is very cheesy.

SOAD are posers?? hahaha... define "poser" for me if you will please....

  • Some bands do great covers of songs from other artist : 1 example- (Van Halen -(Oh ) Pretty Women, Where have all the Good Times Gone,Dancing in the Street ect.) - unfortunately System Of A Downs version of this song is not one of those great covers.

  • !!

  • Never date a guy that wears as much make up as you.

  • Thanks for this little slice of 80s heaven

  • My old man had this vinyl. I remember playing this over and over. In 1983 I was 9 years old. It sure dont seem that long ago.

  • The she-male has serious acne scars....

  • People shut up and enjoy the music !

  • Still, *the* quintessential "80's" song IMHO. Heard it thousands of times and seen it performed live half a dozen - never diminishes. Thanks billyvilelio!

  • this is the original song. soad could lick my ballz.

  • I watched this video on TBS night flights in high school....its still a classic

  • Hahaha, wtf? I have only heard SOAD`S cover, and didn`t know how different the original sounded. I`m more suprised over the differences then I though I would be :P But to be honest, this was a catchy ass song.. Not something I would listen alot too, but not the worst! Since SOAD actually made a metal version off this and made it sound good I would say the older generation should except this.

  • There would be no SOAD version without Berlin, stupids

  • GOVNO

  • omg the system of a down version is much better. This is just some gay copy.

  • @Diedrich92 Copy??? This is the original! And how can a song have a sexual preference???? Apparently you're an idiot...

  • im sorry, soad's version KICKS ASS!

  • @xillasVEVO its just shit made for pathetic lower middle class losers teenagers

  • @bikegirl2 then your saying you love it!

  • yo esperaba la parte q dice "FUCK YOU! FOR LOVING ME!!" xD

  • @panther0567 There are no female members in System of a Down...

  • ponies are we better than this

  • I remember this song when it came out, i was in high school. This version is perfect and so I have no interest whatsoever in listening to System of a Down (or any other group) doing a cover-version of this. Teri Nunn & co. made cool, original music, not cover versions.

  • great song...

  • 80's rock <3

  • sorry I fell in love with this version and not system's...

  • this is the shit!!!~After all time!...IT"S STILL THE SHIT!!! ^Timeless classic.

  • To all you teenager/twentysomething idiots commenting on here; this is classic new wave/synth pop and is 1000% better than any crap out today; Terri Nunn is an absolute original and looks nothing like Gaga; Terri has more talent and raw sexuality in her pinky finger than Gaga or any slut out today; it's called nuance, subtlety, sophistication and class..if you dont know the definitions find a dictionary in between changing your diapers.

  • @malevich2007 Well put! Nice to see someone on here who knows what real music is & who is old enough to have appreciated Berlin then & now!! Terri is still hottt!!

  • @malevich2007 It's funny how you're calling my generation idiots when you're the one acting like an immature little snot. You think you're making these grand, noble statements about today's music and its artists, you think you're some bastion of proper musical tastes. When you wake up tomorrow morning, you will look at yourself in the mirror and remember you're not.

Also, quit using the word slut to describe female musical artists. It's misogynistic and you should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @malevich2007 If this is directed towards the people commenting about System of a Down, please, don't EVER compare System of a Down to Lady Gaga ever again. I like both versions of the song and I don't disagree with you about the slut thing. It's just that System of a Down is nothing like Gaga is. Show some respect for our age's artists and I'll show some respect for your age's artists.

  • @malevich2007 I agree. I'm 26 years old, but I agree with you. My generation is fake, ignorant, and doesn't know what real music is and it disgusts me.

  • Did anyone else realize that shes wearing that hat the wrong way round? the back is in the front..

  • I REMEMBER HATING YOU FOR LOVING ME! RIDING ON THE METROOOOO!!!! *dances and sings along*

  • @PatrioticGiraffe1 - Agree. This is much better.

  • @PatrioticGiraffe1 - aren´t you embarrased by Justin Bieber?

  • System of a Down made a really great cover of this song, it's something we cannot deny, and I don't say it because I am a big fan of SOAD. But hey, both are very good to listen to, System made a heavy version, and this one has a diferent style! Just can't compare them.

  • If you wanna piss off the 30 something crowd, say, "omg they ripped off of System of a Down"

  • Comment removed

  • she looks like lady gaga

  • System did it better.

  • This is the quintessential 80s New Wave video and song, which have been copied and parodied endlessly ever since. I miss those days!

  • Soldier rule #1: Know where your weapon is and how to secure it at all times. Soldier fail = Terri Nunn win!

  • Love the Crossman/Marksman pellet gun-I remember when they were $14 in the JC Penney catalog...

  • @jdalamo lol i had 1 to.

  • so European....couldn't get this song out of my head on my last trip to Munich, riding on the subway

  • @MagicDragonflies the way you write was/is annoying

  • @loard14 - Opinions vary. Why be an ignorant asshole/dickhead? Did Mommy forget to breast-feed/wipe your ass when you were a baby? Leave the dude alone, shit-for-brains and quit fucking trolling/being an argumentative dick.

  • 119 people have never rode on the Metro.

  • Guys can wear what they want, I do, however, you have to be thick skinned and know its all about you, not them!!!!

  • Not gay but I have to ask why a guy wearing red lipstick and eyeliner is automatically labelled as Homosexual? I have nothing against Homosexuals...yet I find discrimination offensive.

I go to Walmart and see females wearing pajamas and flip-flops as clothes while shopping at night. (NOT attractive) so if that is acceptable why can't males wear whatever they want?

Get over it. If you don't agree with it then FINE. But don't make a big DEALIO about it unless you also lock down those females

  • @Prometheus1st A great deal of aristrocrats in the past wore make up all the time, it was norm of that era, now the norm is Ugg Boots and the short shorts, with a hoodie, all the tell tale signs of a whore.

  • check the version of alkaline trio !!!!!!! kick ass!!!!!

  • Berlin. Such a fucking New Wave name.

  • Umm I think he doesn't like you because-well this is just me taking a wild guess...

    He's gay,I don't know why I think he is...

Maybe because the dude was wearing red lipstick and eyeliner :o

  • @PeDevilnHydeEye You couldn't be more right.

  • Woke up to this song this morning on totally 80s on Vh1 Classic

  • my reaction-an armani suit wit no screen (i had a purse that looked like her coat)-ashton kircher and a woman I met in san mateo once on the video that is my reacton to riding on the metro video i just watched.

  • i remember this soilder sleeping next to me riding on the metro, love this song cute soilder with the red beret.

  • Berlin! What an awesome band to come from the 80's! I remember having my hair cut just like this! Hair back then had some life to it. Today's hair is soooo boring. It just lays there. We need to bring this back! :-) The whole shebang is what we really need. The music, makeup, hair, fashion etc. We need to make rollerskating a cool thing again too. I skated all the time to this song along with so many others. Those were the days! Such fun and crazy times. It ended way too soon.Miss the 80's! :-(

  • Why load this song fucking hot? A- Fucking Hole

  • 1:24 hahaa nice makeup dude....

  • One of my favorite 80s songs!

  • This song was played a lot during the 80s night at the Pyramid Club in East Village, NYC in 1990s. I remember a girl who looked like the Berlin vocalist and danced with a big flashing pistol. Nice memories, time flies so quickly!

  • why does he have 7 thumbs up? :S she does not.

  • no está mal la canción

  • lofl yeah let me know when soad has a number one song on the charts(in a complex/legit music decade) for months.

  • Saw Berlin a month or so ago. fucking awesome show. thousands of people.

my only complaint is she changed some of the words on SEX. probably because it was about john or whatever. dunno

  • soad are fucking homos. numetal is piss.

  • some of the intrumentel music sounds like the theme song for phantasm

  • mis tem 1980s compaired to now

  • I had a pistol just like that....when I was 12. It's actually a BB gun. They don't make them anymore because they look too much like the real thing.

  • system of a down version is better

  • Comment removed

  • The vibe still always makes me think of Rocklobster haha

  • THEY PLAY CARNIVALS!!!!!!!

  • Terri Nunn = New Wave Hottness

  • @Genkimark I agree!

  • nazi propoganda we had to put up with in the 80s

  • I loved this song when I was a kid--about 11 when it came out.. The 'new wave' distinction must have led me to this interpretation of some of the lyrics:

I was on a Paris train

    I emerged in London rain

    You were waiting there

Swimming through a pile of cheese

  • I like this better than Take my breath away. Why wasn't this a hit?

  • @clipobserver Geffen Records was primarily a hard rock label and they were slow to embrace the new wave scene. Keep in mind they also had XTC on their roster and they basically ignored them.

  • @MyJunior1975 That's Sad especially that new wave was there in 1980 (maybe 1979) if Geffen didn't hold them back Berlin could have gotten some more hits maybe.

  • @clipobserver It's meesed up that their biggest hit was on a soundtrack (Top Gun) on another label (Columbia Records). Could you imagine what would have happened if Geffen released that song? It probably wouldn't be as big as it was- knowing them.

  • Comment removed

  • @MyJunior1975 Wasn't No more words a hit with Geffen (according to wikipedia it was I know I know it's wikipedia). Also it was in heavy rotation on MTV in the channel's early years. That alone should had boost to the top 40. Just ask the Buggles.

  • Comment removed

  • @clipobserver It was a minor hit on the radio- believe it or not. As much as it got on MTV (and trust me, it got played A LOT), that didn't translate well into promotion on Geffen's behalf. There were a lot of songs that got heavy rotation on MTV, but were minor hits on the charts- basically most of the new wave bands at the time. In the early 80's, all MTV cared about was playing videos. Labels didn't start taking MTV seriously until the mid 80's when they saw how the network broke bands.

  • Alkaline Trio covered this. its not bad.

  • @NotSober100 Not a chance.

  • @WaxHeadroom prolly due to the fact I heard Systems cover first, always expected it to be a cover of some old punk song, not electronica.
