The producers of Star Trek 11 said something like "Star Trek's always been like Classical Music, whereas Star Wars was kind of like Rock and Roll, Star Trek needed an injection of rock and roll"

Whereas many people could say Enterprise was a shit series, it did lay the foundations for a more modern friendly Star Trek, this was the first series that showed evidence of that rock and roll injection, its one thing I miss :(

This new theme was a sign that Enterprise was about to improve its game, but despite the power of the Star Trek franchise, no show is above cancellation unfortunately.

I can understand why people didn't like the theme but I feel that it was a nice change of pace for the series.

I agree it was a bold move on the producers to move away from the traditional opening and give the audience something different than the usual pompous orchestral pieces and present a more modern take on things.
