ILM continues its long tradition of special physical FX mastery - additionally, being the originators of CG VFX, ILM remains the very best in this field. No one does it better.
despite the fact that ILM has dropped to the bottom rung of the VFX biz especially since they did away with all physical FX (what they excelled in) there is no denying the incredible computer genius of a guy like Knoll. If he were to get away from being head lackey to Lucas i'm sure he would even do great FX work
@pookie67 "ILM has dropped to the bottom" That's a little too exaggerated. Davy Jones is an excellent cgi character, as photorealistic and awesome as Gollum. It seems that their standards of quality changes depending on which projects they are working on.
@pookie67 Uh yeah, that's why Cameron used them (along with WETA) for "Avatar" and JJ Abrams used them for "Star Trek." Bottom rung. Sure. Whatever...
Hmmmm...I wonder if he's talking about the untitled Lucasfilm animated feature?? So mysterious!
