  • He has two questions WRONG....Before our independence Haiti was called SAINT DOMINGUE, Before the French came & fought the Spanish & was given 1/3 of the island, the entire Island was called HISPANIOLA & still called HISPANIOLA today if you are referring to the two countries together (Haiti & DR). Prior to Colombus arrival to the island, the WHOLE ISLAND was called HAITI by the native TAINOS, after our independence were took the name HAITI. 2nd, the colors of the flag is blue, red & white!

  • @TeleLakaytv get the fact right before you ask people the questions, Haiti was Ayiti by the Taino Indians and Quisqueya or Bohio in the Arawak indians language CC change it to Hispaniola then later during the war of independence in honor of the indians they change it back to the original name.   • It was called "Ayiti" before (Saint-Domingue) from the Indian word for the "Land of Mountain.

  • I know it was called Ayiti waaaay back then...it's called Ayiti now...but the official name for The western part of the island befor independance was Saint-Domingue...that was the official name before 1804...read the Black Jacobins...or any book pertaining to Haiti...I dont see how a Haitian can not know that...or over look such a huuuge fact.
