  • this show sucked

  • mst3k did a pretty funny parody of this on the episode creeping terror, if anyone is interested in seeing it

  • AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • There is something about the early seventies that I just have such a special fondness for even though it was really before my time as I was still just a toddler. I wish I could visit that period again.

  • @DRebele1

Well, some scientist guy told me you can. You gotta find some way to travel through space at a speed that exceeds the speed of light, and time will go backwards for you. That way, you may be able to visit the 70s.

*But promise one thing: Don't kill the two people who are to become your pare

  • Paul Petersen!

  • Does anyone know what the episode where they went to Hawaii (for a honeymoon?) is??

  • does anyone know what is the episode when they go to the wild west, the only thing i can remember is that phyllis elizabeth davis got burned by a hot iron

  • I'd go to such a wedding after I lose some weight and ate a few boxes of Ron Jeremy's extends lol

  • When I was a kid in late 60's, early 70's - I couldn't wait for Friday night. The Flying Nun, Brady Bunch, Partridge Family and Love American Style, my late-night up weekend treat.

  • My first exposure to really hot women? I was watching this show around the age of.......8-ish to 10-ish.....

  • Bet the performers had biege tight cut underwear and strapless bras to give the illusion of nudity.I watched the episode of Simon And Simon where they went sleuthing at a nudist club and one of the nudist ladies had a strapless bra on when she was behind a shrub. But when i read Playboy about the Peter Sellars movie a Shot in the Dark the actors there were really nude although you couldnt see anything good

  • Meredith McCraes husband Greg Mullavey claims he caught her giving blowjobs to many TV executives and actors in his own living room on dozens of occasions back in the early 70's.

  • @WiccansEatShit

Worked on many events with Meredith throughout the 80's for special needs children. She was an exceptional person. I knew Greg years ago when he did Romantic Comedy in NY. I can't believe he would say anything like this. Maybe years ago in the heat of a divorce. But why mention it now, it's a mean awful thing to say.

  • @WiccansEatShit I think he was referring to himself!!!!!

  • @WiccansEatShit Not surprising. I'm every decent-looking woman in Hollywood has had to spread her legs or get on her knees a few times for an executive or someone in a position of power, in order to advance her career or just break into the business.

  • I am wondering if the father is mr whipple....

  • That guy who plays the groom is very hot. lol. I was watching this and the whole time I am wishing that he would undress! lol. Really wish I could have grown up in the 60s or 70s. Everything was so symbolic. These days they would show all the nude people and that element of "mystery" would be all gone. It probably wouldn't even be as interesting. Thank you for uploading. :)

  • Paul Petersen was a hunk!

  • The 1970's was a much simpler time. No cell phones, no personal computers, no satellite tv and we could fix our own cars. The '70s had the best music too and concerts were under 10 bucks. Glad I got to experience it but I really do miss it.

  • @ff85258 i'm not so sure the 70s were a simpler time. the kent state & jackson state killings of 1970, attica uprisings of '71, miami rnc convention riot in '72, wounded knee occupation in '73, symbionese in '73-74, watergate, inflation, khmer rouge takeover in cambodia '75-78, jonestown massacre in '78, greensboro massacre in '79, etc. all the same, i hear what you're saying.

  • @wallofvideo It just was a simpler time for me. I was a teen with no worries and saw all the concerts from Nugent to Sabbath to Kiss to Queen to The Who and Stones all in their prime and dozens and dozens more all for under 10 bucks a show. Im just glad I was a teen in the 70's is all. Love that era.

  • @ff8525I was a kid in the 70's, born 1968. I agree.Wish I could have been older then to experience all the Free Love.Free Love was gone by 1986 when i turned 18

  • just wanted to say greg94501 thankyou you brought back memories that were so great,i have this problem, dont know why im saying, but i am as thanx,i have a depression about the past,i just loved it so much,it meant wondeful memories and many things to me,the problem is that most people remember and smile, and carry on,i remember and cry,i really do,wishing it would be then,as i hate the present,i have my children to whom i love, but other than that, the present means nothing but age, people hating.sad

  • This was all about 70s Communism corrupting the USA. Thank God Reagan came alomg when he did or this country would have been wrecked.

  • @burnstagger i never looked at it that way but I think your right, still there is a lot about the 70's I miss

  • @burnstagger What is your definition of wrecked? I think were there. A thrid world country.

  • Are there really nudist colonies like this?

  • Does anyone have or know where I can get "Love & The Locksmith?" Original air date Nov. 16, 1973 , starring Richard B. Shull & Loretta Switt.

  • Meredith MacRae was one gorgeous gal!

  • Everyone should go nude in the ideal world without sin . But not yet .

  • @kolaski33 yeah with today's ethical and moral standards, I'm suprised weddings like this aren't more frequent lol..

  • Meredith MacRae! The original Hooters Girl!

  • Does anyone have the Love American Style episode "Love and the Physical" you could put on here?

  • Meredith MacRae at her 70's loveliest. She had such a warm smile, and such beautiful, long, soft, shiny, silky blonde hair that ever red-blooded American boy, especially me, would love to run their fingers through. VERY, VERY DEEP SIGH!

  • Mr Whipple apparently squeeze more than Charmin

  • I WATCHED THIS SERIES IN 1969 OR 1970 EXCELLENT SHOW .

  • ighforever, go preach your nonsense somewhere else and worry about your life and stop trying to tell everyone else what to do. It's people like you that cause athieism.

  • This was such a funny, sweet show. Funny, I just saw Paul Petersen this past Friday on Wilshire Blvd.

  • Wasn't Leslie Ann Warren in one of the very first shows I remember that vividly I hadn't seen her in Cinderella so that was the first time I actually saw her These were great shows with all the celebrities of the time appearing- Couldn't afford to do this today - Costs would be monstrous!!! Thanks for the video -Always liked Meredith MacCrae and it's nice to see Paul Peterson from the old Donna Reed Show Excellent!!!

  • @lpvcrcd "Love and the Divorce Sale"- Episode 11 ... Season 1 I You don't happen to have that one -do you?

  • I love this show.... still.

  • i used to watch this and still love it

  • Paul Peterson had a hot body. His character should have been proud to show off his assets :P

  • Yep. That's him.

  • Isn't the guy who is playing the father the guy who did plaed "Mr. Whipple" in the old "Please don't squeeze the Charmin" TV commercials?

  • Foxy lady

  • she was married to mike the oldest son on my three sons

  • Lots of connections... Meredith MacRae to My Three Sons & Petticoat Junction... Paul Petersen to The Mickey Mouse Club & The Donna Reed Show... Love, American Style to Happy Days (whose pilot it aired after it was rejected by ABC)... Dick Wilson to Perfect Strangers, which his daughter Melanie had a role in, and scores of other TV shows he guested on... The Cowsills, who did the original theme song, to The Partridge Family, which was based on them...

  • who is the actress playing the bride to be? and what was she on, she looks so familiar

  • i think it s meredith macrae...she played billie jo on pedicoat junction t v show

  • Yes I looked her up. I recognized her from My Three Sons, she was Robbies wife Thank You

  • I was wrong, she was Chips wife

  • Nope, she was Mike's wife. Tina Cole played Robbie's wife and I don't even know if Chip had a wife on the show.

  • classic episode. i love this show so much for its retro appeal. thanks for posting!!!

  • Anyone know where I can locate the "short version" ending theme that was seen on very few of the Friday night episodes? There were a handful on the rare 1/2 hr Fri. night shows in late 1970, before they went back to the full hour.....& I think there were 8 full-hour episodes that aired that shorter version ending theme during the 1971-72 season. If anyone knows, please let me know, ok? Thanks.

  • I have one of the "half-hour" network episodes that was shown on Ha! Comedy Channel that has that theme with NO announcements as opposed to TV Land's reruns of the show.

  • Luvthoseclips, yes, the different arrangement/shorter version was used during Seasons 2 & 3, & they remained for some of the syndicated half hour segments too.

Sadly, LAS isn't aired on tv much anymore. Only Season 1 has been released on DVD so far.

However, if you'd like to see more seasons of LAS released, please enter "Love American Style Petition" into google so you can visit the petition site & add your name. And don't forget to thank TerryT1976 for creating the petition! ;-)

  • I will always remember this one from my 5th grade year which would have been 1969-1970. My parents would let my brother and I go to the skating rink on Friday nights and we'd get back home in time to see a few of these skits and then catch the closing theme song. What memories this bring back.

Love American Style, that's me and you!

  • Thanks so much for posting this. I remember watching this episode as a kid and getting an erection, especially seeing the hot blonde take her dress off in the end and standing there in her pantyhose.

  • the guy who played mr whipple was doing it with Sean Cassidy. He liked 'em young.

  • Nothing like memorable character actors and actresses back then. They had a lot of meaning and were just as wonderful as the big stars too. Many of these famous character actors are gone now. No one has really replaced their unique personalities.

  • The mother is Jean Marie Donnell (aka "Jeff"). She played the Quartermaine's maid Stella Fields on General Hospital from 1979 - 1988.

  • The blond guy is the late Christopher Stone

  • I remember watiching this back in the day (as a kid) and thinking "Wow, that's extreme!". I guess it really was cutting edge at that time.

Isn't that MR. WHIPPLE (the "Charmin' guy) as the father?

  • yes, the late dick wilson aka mr. whipple..lol..i can hear the jokes in my head..lol

  • I remember seeing the episode in which Robert Klein played a guy who lived with his old father [March 9, 1973--Love and the End of the Line]. Klein's girlfriend demanded that he get a vasectomy before they got married, or something to that effect. They ran that episode in Los Angeles in 1979, mind you, at 3:00 in the afternoon with a "Parental Guidance" disclaimer before it! Just because they said "vasectomy"! I remember all that uproar over nothing.

  • I can bet that was aired on KTLA Channel 5, right? I was around three or four when Love, American Style was shown after Twilight Zone on weekdays at 1 p.m.

  • Yes, indeed it was, and I stand corrected! You are right! It was much earlier in the day. It's amazing that you remember so well, but undoubtedly, it is so. :-)

  • The NAKED episode! WOW I remember this one Most OF All from my childhood. My mom Hated this show so much! She would start shrieking at us to turn the channel when we saw this episode. Thanks so much for it. It brings back many happy childhood TV memories.

  • You can now go to Amazon and sign up to be notified by email when Season 2, Vol. 1 is released.

Though a half season release is better than nothing, I don't see the necessity for splitting up the second season the same way as Season 1, particularly since the show was cut back to a half hour for the first half of Season 2.

  • Luvthoseclips,

I'd like to hear it too, but it will probably have to wait until future DVD releases of subsequent seasons of the series, but unfortunately, I don't get the feeling that's going to happen anytime soon.

BTW, that's Paul Peterson along with Meredith McRae in the above clip? I wonder what TV station this was taken from? Not TV Land, as I see no logo in the lower right hand side of the screen...

  • this video was made from a tv recording on satellite tv. I have many more of these videos, but have not uploaded them because i was unaware that people were still inquiring of them.

  • Interesting. Is this satellite channel commercial free, or do they at least air few enough commercials per hour so that the older programs which were produced during the days of fewer ads don't have to be edited for time?

Anyway, if you have more episodes, please upload them, and thank you for having uploaded this one. ;-)

  • Love the ending theme song, but I'm wondering if someone has a copy of the one that's kind of rare & was only played on 8 Friday night shows from the 1971-72 season....& also the temporary 1/2 hr Friday night versions in 1970, before returning back to the full 1-hr. length shows? Would love to hear that one again.
