@hcwmusic55 The body and the tuning structure are exactly what make this bass special. The direct pull tuning is more stable and once tuned it pretty much stays in tune. The body is just lighter and more comfortable.
I remember reading something in one of the earliest reviews of the original Steinberger that you could actually feel it across the room when someone played it...even if it wasn't plugged in.
Nice groove man. I'm debating about getting that bass. Wondering if I should go for that one, with the detuner, or save up for the higher end Synapse model. Any thoughts?
@mmmsaxy I've never played a synapse so I can't tell you how good they are. I can tell you if you use drop tuning often then the detuner is great. You can put a detuner bridge on the synapse but I have no idea how much the bridge costs. They are pretty easy to change out though.
@WolfgangS No I play with my thumb and index and middle finger when I need to. This bass line doesn't require that there isn't really anything blazing in it. Are you a bassist or a bass teacher? Or do you just think you know it all? I would love to see a video of you playing but I don't see any on your channel. I await your video response, that is if you even play an instrument!
@wykydrone Yeah he doesn't seem to understand playing an instrument. If he had watched any of my other videos he would have seen I use my other fingers when I need them. He's just one of those guys that sees someone playing and if they don't play like another bassist he's seen he thinks they're doing it wrong.
other than body and tuning structure, what makes this bass so different

@WolfgangS FYI ... James Jamerson just used one finger. And Steve Harris only uses two. It's a matter of personal preference. Get a grip.
