  • Going to confession is a beautiful thing everytime when I confess I feel so clean we are all led to sin thats why we have to surrender are souls to god and ask for forgiveness

  • i will most def obey the word of God and confess because the word of God says God gave men that special gift to forgive in his name so, better to confess to a priest than the mirror or the sky, at least like that i will be obeying that part of the word of God and not ignoring it

  • @Alicia6387 No you should confess to the person or persons you have sinned against and make restitution to those people, not to a priest in a secret booth. Its an easy way out

  • Nice hair Asian women #lushfmlk.info#

  • ONLY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS THE TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST, APOSTOLIC CHURCH PROVIDES ALL SACRAMENTS AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE - OF THE LIVING GOD - THE BREAD OF LIFE IN THE EUCHARIST!

WITH 2,000 YEARS OF TRADITION AND SACRIFICES TODAY WE KNOW WHAT THE BIBLE AND SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST IS.

    MANY PROPHECIES AND VISIONARIES.

THE REAL MIRACLES, EFFECTIVE EXORCISMS, INCCORUPT BODIES OF SAINTS,

    JOHN 6: 32-66

  • A good book from Tan to read is "Confession, its fruitful practice" with an Examination of Conscience.

  • Evidentz07: I "like" your use of the word "comfortably". We wouldn't want the confession of sin to involve guilt, bad feelings, or sorrowful repentance. Me thinks you're not really confessing to God but to your mirror. If you check your Bible you'll find a contrary concept: John 20:23 gives men (a particular type of man) the power to not only forgive sins, but retain them. Ooops, that verse is probably not in your Bible.

  • OR I can just pray to God at night comfortably without having to tell my personal business to a 55 year old man that will judge me.

  • 14greg14: Last I check it was the Catholic Church that produced the Christian Bible and out of Catholic councils all the distinctive doctrines that defineChristianity against the pagan world were declared and promulated (although Orthodox would contend that it was them). And the last time I went to Mass we were still worshiping Jesus. You may be one of the few that don't know that.

  • Hello, does'nt anyone know that christians are christians and catholics are catholics! There is a distinct difference

  • @14greg14 no, I am Catholic, and as such a Christian.

Christianity contains and is not limited to: Catholics, Anglicans, Orthodox, Methodists, Lutherans, Moravians, Presbyterians, Baptists, Annabaptists, Evangelicals, etc..

  • Repentance is the key to eternal life. A person who is "sorrow-less" will not enter into the kingdom of God. We are all sinners and to think yourself worthy of heaven without any sort of remorse on your part is kind of a joke - a very sad joke. Chest pains happen and time for all of us is running short.

  • Confession is going out of style. The pope is complaining about christians shunning this practice.

  • This video is so beautiful!

  • It's not just about reconciling with God, it's about the Church too. Being in Communion. Which is what Sacramantal life is all about. If Jesus meant for sins to be confessed to Him alone, then he would not have given His apostles the authority to do so. It's just logic. The Church cannot not do away with confession as it was instituted by Christ. It's not always nice to have to go to confession, but it's always nice having gone.

  • Yes, but the way it's set up in the CC is not biblical. If it was biblical , then the catholic priest would be confessing his sins to me as well. The catholic priests should'nt act as a mediator for me to God. I can go to God simply on my own. And also a priest can't or have the power to say my sins are forgiven either, that's so silly

  • Dr. Ray ROCKS!

  • Thank you for this. I like how simple this is. Perfect for my God Daughter.

  • frost685 I posted 10 videos, they go in parts, and it explains everythng you need to know about confession. It is just audio. Type in Fr. Larry Richards and go to playlists, you should find it.

  • To Frost685 cont: .... to one another...that you may be healed."

    f. Matt 16:19 Jesus gives to the Apostles the authority to bind and loose. Logic infers that this wasn't just for that moment in time, but necessary throughout the Church's history.

    g. James 5:14-15 "presbyters (priests) of the Church...pray over him...he will be forgiven."

And there are many other passages and reasons, e.g. it's harder to go to a person that just do it in private, and God has always used men to do his will.

  • To Frost685 cont: The church forgives sins ONLY in the power of Christ as his earthly representative.

    d. When we sin we break fellowship not only with God, but with other Christians (the Church). As you would ask God to forgive you so you must also ask others whom you've offended to forgive you. The priest makes that practical; he stands in for the Church, whom reason dictates that you seek forgiveness from. Sins are never just against God.

    e. James 5:16 commands us "confess your sins to one..

  • Dear Frost685:. There are many reasons to confess to a priest. Here are a few:

    a. There is the Old Testament tradition, established by Mosaic Law, of the priest being the intermediator.

    b. Christ then became the principal intermediator to God, but left behind priests who are his representatives to us.

    c. Christ then chartered the first bishops and priests of the Church with these words: "whose sins you forgive are forgiven them...whose sins you retain are retained (John 20:23). (more)

  • confess to who ?? a preist ?? why confess when god knows all sins you have comited ?? ask god to forgive your sins, i dont want to ofend anyone, but yes ? why confess to a man ? just a question ?

  • frost685..

GOD uses His priests as His instruments of reconciliation. The New Covenant priesthood is prefigured or 'typed' in many places in the Old Testament. Here are an example from the Old Testament of reconciliation and atonement being performed by a priest:

Leviticus 4:20, "...Thus the priest shall make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven."

  • These are different priests, not catholic ones, that's silly

  • Confession helps me to walk more faithfully in the footsteps of Christ. In the mass we say, "although we are poor sinners, we trust in [God's] mercy and [God's] love." Confession truly is good for the soul because we actively & audibly receive mercy and guidance & (in a world that denies authentic sin) needful correction: Christ commanded the apostles on Easter Sunday: "Whose sins you shall forgive they are forgiven them. Whose sins you shall retain they are retained." Christ Is Risen!

  • beautiful clip:)GBU

  • Confessing one's sins is what all Christians should be doing, regularly. The only thing that being Catholic adds to the equation is having someone who is authorized by Christ say to you what all Christians want to hear from Christ. "Your sins are forgiven." It's a wonderful thing.

  • I'm not even Catholic and I really enjoyed this clip. Thank you so much for sharing it.

  • Very nice!

  • Finding this video randomly made me excited. That parish has a beautiful Tridentine Latin High Mass every Sunday. Sometimes one of the auxiliary bishops of Detroit would perform the TLM there. I used to go there every two weeks when I lived in Southern Michigan.

  • I updated the more info field on this page to answer KGalbraith's question. This video was shot in St. Josaphat Catholic Church in Detroit. Address in the MORE INFO field.

  • Where is this Church? It's beautiful!

  • good vigeo
