  • its called slowing down.

  • brain failure he he..

  • If there was an engine failure for every pixel in this video, I'd have no engine failures.

  • U TO dum u put u hand over the cammra voloumeso it sounds so and a engine failure does not sound like that on a dash 8 liat

  • you fail just like your fathers condom

  • i was hoping that the engine was gonna get ripped off...

  • i think i just shit myself!

  • ...wat engine?

  • so this is what they call HD huh?...All those pixels I have been missing my whole life.

  • engine stall

  • Brain failure

  • it looks like yor on a glider and throwing rocks...

  • the pilot decided to save some fuel by turning them off then clutch start them again, due to these high petrol prices ;) ahahaahah LOL

  • Can I ask what is low throttle, well not what is it, but what is it for?

  • @nathan775 The throttle is to put it simply the gas pedal of the plane, push it forward make the motor increase in power, pull it back will make the motor go quiet as you reduce thrust, one reason you could reduce thrust is to maintain your speed.

  • @Esurnir there is no throttle pedal in a plane its either a lever or a push rod

  • @nathan775 its the power setting in an aircraft, and its used to adjust alt., and speed

  • damn it it's called low throttle... man i swear you are a freakin low life cunt as everyone else says

  • The engine is not a failure, your a failure.

  • @gregtube111 Don't call anyone a failure if you don't know the difference between "your" and "you're."

    Imbecile.

  • @usnsquirrel screw you

  • @gregtube111 Brilliant yet underwhelming retort. What else have you got?

  • @usnsquirrel and your the one who's so mature he decided to keep going on with this. No room to call me an imbecile here.

  • @gregtube111 You+are=you're. This is something the general population can grasp. You clearly aren't on the same level as the general population. Perhaps now you see my point.

  • Low Throttle... noob!

  • This is called low throttle! not failure

  • wow, have some love guys, these are really hurtful comments. even if the video sucks :/. xx

  • aaawww the passengers werre REALLY scared ... dude.... get a life

  • obviously covered the mic because an aircraft would never be that quiet in the air even if both engines were to fail!!!!!

  • obviously covered the mic because an aircraft would never be that quiet in the air regardless if bothe engine completly died!!!!

  • thats not an engine failure. the engine would rev when it fails. you prob just put your hand over the mic in the camera

  • using low throttle for the decent and to land then will seddenly power back up for the landing then...... LAND :)

  • first time on a plane???

  • has that several times before landing so it just seems the engine stop but obviously its needed for the reverse thrust.

  • It never sound like that...

it sound's the way engine normally shutdown

  • Was hoping for something interesting, was let down.

  • you pathetic cunt, this is SO FUCKING FAKE!!! GET YOUR FUCKING ASS OFF YOUTUBE, WASTING PEOPLES FUCKING TIME DICKHEAD PIECE OF SHIT!!!! I HATE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!!!!

  • Flagged for misleading title.

  • feathering the prop? or just gliding in for landing

  • you are a FUCKING IDIOT!!! THE ENGINES DO NOTT!!! GO UP AND DOWN IN VOLUME SO FAST! OMFG YOU ARE SOO INCREDIBLY STUPID IF YOU THING A N Y O N E IS GOING TO BUY THIS!! KILL YOURSELF YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF S H I T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @XxFsxloverxX NO YOU SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH YOU MOTHERFUCKING MAJOR PIECE OF TRASH! NOTICE HOW EVERY COMMENT SAYS YOU SUCK!! GO KILL YOURSELF BEFORE I COME DO IT!!

  • @camcamepictv u need to calm down..talking shit on yotube ha

  • @jfrubio13 No, it's called autopilot (with auto-throttle). The author probably covered the microphone.

  • or since they are landing, AIR BRAKES (FLAPS) come on dude

  • as they were on descent it is possible to restart the engines as the altitude wasnt actually that high, And it is usual for the pilots to power down the engines when descending they could quite easily have stalled.

  • dont worry the pilots do that to conserve fuel and they just shut the engines into standby mode so no its not engine failure you dumbshit

  • This is gay. You are gay. You are banned.

  • This is gay. You are gay.

  • we were closed to water!!!!!

  • holy shit i just had heart failure! iwas on he flight and when the engine stopped my heart just dropped

  • fake, gay, and flagged as spam...shithead

  • A plane that big would have to be a multiengine plane. Besides the extremely slim chances that both engines failed at once, that is not at all what it would sound like.

  • Fake n gay!. i say..

  • Totally would have pissed my Pants.

  • the engine is designed to operate for a few minutes after when it shuts down---

also when the aircraft stalls /enine stalls the angle of the aircraft should fall ----

ahh... beautiful sounds of the thrst reversal =w =@ the end

  • Wow you covered the mic, that was brilliant.

  • stupid fucker

  • And the point to this video is?

  • LOL - you hear people talking and then they all go quiet at the exact moments the engines are 'off' :D

Due to ear popping during descent and changes in actual speed, there IS a time where the engines sound like they have spooled down but not quite as dramatic as this.

  • Yes, Just out your finger over the mic, the cabing isnt that quiet so fuck you and remove this video!!

  • i can tell everyone is SO SCARED! LOL! NOT! what a fucking waste of time...

  • you idiot

  • I say it again!! you better stop smoking that green shit again.

  • this person is just trying to scare people of flying

and try to get lots of views

if you think this is real then you never flew in a plane

ps i fly each year from poland to california 2

  • There were many multiple failure, in the brain of the person who did the video.

  • sounds like the captians were trying to start the engine agian

  • the yacking and noise stops finger over the mic.....

  • what type of plane r u in?

  • @jainish007 ATR 72-212 A

  • the engine stop working on 0:38 sec wow that is so bad

  • you can tell its a finger over the mic because listen to the voices in the back ground they stop when the "engines stopped" and started again when the engines started, i'm sure if both engines went out everyone wouldnt have stopped talking .. to quite.. stop being retarded!

  • what, so everyone was stunned into silence by the engine failure? LOL

  • "Listen around the 35th second"

HELL YEAH, I heard the engine stopped making noise, so did the people! You are BUSTED!

  • Engine failure/fire happens more than you really think on these plans. If they had to shut down an engine it wouldn't be uncommon. Those planes only need about 1.5 engines to keep flying.

  • O.o i hear people talking, now i don't

  • perhaps someday you'll be in an airplane in emergency!!!

  • its called landing. not engine faliure

  • a reality show will contact your soon

  • that and the noise isnt from the frigging engine O.o

  • they don't look that scared....

  • Why isn't everybody screaming? COOL video, but kinda fake (?)

  • k wheres the screamin then??

  • Um people are talkin about props... I'm pretty sure thats a turbo fan (jet) engine... I'm guessing flame out

  • in jet's that's the same thing, that's what we call emergency power unity, you also can use an electrical provider which is the apu

  • Hard to tell with such poor quality...Didnt they tell you if there was something wrong?

  • i bet dont the engines still turn and produce power if they are not pushing the plane forward from the air thats going into them?

  • sounds like the camera man covered or hit the microphone props often look still on video

  • dont you need engines to stay on to power the plane while its flying ... like to keep all the hydrolics operating ?

  • They simply changed the prop blade angle. Blue lever. :)

  • There's just too many pilots here ;)

  • They just changed the blade angle on the constant speed props to one that just so happened to be silent on that plane. Common practice on turbo props and is actually in the checklist in case of a go around.

  • @jamie101021

What world do you live in XD

No Pilot shuts off their engines to land!!! what if they have to go around or if they need more speed? And what if they dont turn on anymore? No pilot does that!

  • ummmmmm planes sometimes do that for fuel efficency

its just the plane coasting nothing else its just to save fuel

south west airline pilots do that as well

    AND 2

you were landing so the pilot shuts off the engines in order to slow down

  • he cant land he is in the middle of the ocean duh!

  • They don't shut off engines when they land they need to apply reverse thrust to slow the plane and what masterimp4 said.

  • Are you thick or what?? Pilots don't shutdown engines in the middle of flight or to help slow down before landing! I am a pilot so where did you get that from??

  • that is kinda stupid, no pilot shuts off engines for landing, and even less while airborne to save fuel... That would risk the lives of so many people. I hope you're not a pilot, otherwise we have a seriously crazy person flying us carelessly...

  • No pilot turns their engines off to land if you do its near enough suicide, you need them to slow down and what if you need to do a re-approach you won't gain speed in time.

  • U talk some shit

  • what airline was this

  • funny you don't hear anyone say anything, really believable...

  • Such stupid comments below about a dodgy camera or finger over the mic. This guy heard it with his own ears on the flight itself - the video is just an additional source to his own account?

If I listened to everybody below I guess they landed, got to the terminal, watched the video back and thought they were going to die before collecting their baggage?

  • Im going with a finger over the mic being that I couldnt hear the engines spool up again. Also, the chance of BOTH engines failing at the same time are very low unless your flying over an active volcano!

  • @101HeyNow Iceland anybody

  • @101HeyNow Or if some slack-arse mechanics didn't do their job... lol

  • @101HeyNow i've flown over the monserrat volcano, i could see inside, it was steamy luckily we didn't die

  • @101HeyNow what are the chances of the plane hacing and emerjancy stop over the ocean

  • bastard camera

  • Comment removed

  • hahahahahaah a thought that was real

  • american eagle still flies to st.lucia?i thought they stopped flyin to the lower islands

  • Nice job ;)

    That was a great trick!

  • For an engine shut off like that the passengers are REAL calm, even yourself. If that were me id be stressing and discussing with other passengers. Also the Captain would have been on the PA system telling crew and passengers to remain calm. Hard to believe.

  • seriously, fail, agree with JonnyHeather123

  • what plane is it

  • ATR 42/72

  • All other ambient noise stops when the engine cuts out? Strange that?

  • Yes!! sure engine was stop and restart,

  • ok honda why would you feel the jolt. and no the plane will not start turning to the. because they have a rudder that compensates for yaw affect. it will yaw to the left if you dont conteract the torque of the good engine

  • @ssrfg

This is true , but he means if the pilot never corrected it :)

  • If the engine on the left side goes out, you're going to feel it. You'll feel the jolt, then the plane will probably start turning to the left, due to the thrust on the right side. SIMPLE PHYSICS DUMB SHITS.

  • he covered he mic up with his hand - simple!

  • yer because every ones talking then they all shut up then the talk again

  • Aw it's that cute little Fisher Price plane!

  • LOOL

  • omg god bro that was the best CLL EVER that was sweet

  • i think its fake because an engine dont start at that altitude

  • the handbook say they have to restart the engines 11,000 ft or lower.

  • Well, if the engine fails, try to enjoy last moments and turn off that shit!

  • Lol, noob. There would have been a MAJOR jolt.

  • no there wouldnt it would just slow down if it just slows down and stops

  • See, its videos like this tht i hate. It suks and its obvious tht u jus covered up the mike to make it sound like the engine was going. Besides, u cant restart the engine at tht high of an altitude because its too cold for the lighter to restart the engine.

  • yeah I could even hear the engine when the guy covers it

  • @ussmissouri63 Actually you mean theres not enough air i mean A fire can be started at any temp....

  • @ussmissouri63 Dude, it isn't a lighter, it's a high powered spark plug, so it will ignite in mid air. all though, no engine spool up, i'm going with he cut the audio in a program, cause if he covered the mic, small noise would get through

  • @ussmissouri63 Also, isnt' the air too thin for the fire to light?

  • @thatguyoverthere45 yes its both that the air is too cold and thin for the egine to restart

  • @ussmissouri63 yes you can but it would make a in flight fire wich you dont want

  • @ussmissouri63 You can restart the engine at nearly every altitude but not at every airspeed, you need a certain speed else you have to make a 'starter assist air start'. That's the only limitation! It has nothing to do with the 'lighter' or temperature!

  • @ussmissouri63 pretty sure that temperature doesnt effect the ignition for an engine..how do you think engines in alaska start when its nearly 0 degrees? there is no reason it wouldn't restart

  • @ussmissouri63 at what hight was this plane than, never saw an altitude indicator. Restarting a jet should be possibble below 10.000 ft at least if it aint broken down

  • @louisluigi yeah, but it would still be pretty dangerous because of the fact that an engine usually goes out because of a broken or ruptured fuel line. if you tried to restart it, it would most likely start a huge fire

  • and the pilot would know right away if he was loosing thrust in the left engine and would had request a emergancy landing or would had applied more thrust power to the right engine depending on the airline the engines and how many you have if theres only two he would push the right harder and shut down the left one.

  • Ok first of all my dad is a pilot and you can not re start a engine when it goes out that high up because it wont light the starter because of high pressure all the person did was cover up the mic with his finger on the camera to make it sound like it was fading away

  • Wrong the plane was not on high altitude it was 3 minutes before landing so the plane should have been on 2-3000 ft above the ground as the runway was nearly on sea level

that sound was not loud and it was not with a heavy shake and vibration so I'm guessing it was the sound of landing Gears door opening

  • LOL.. made my day. People were quite calm for an "engine failure".

    Kintaro741 was right.

  • hand waz over the mic so nice try asshole

  • lol, it is fake how come everyones voices magically dissappear when the engine "fails", and the voices come back when teh engine "restarts"

  • You are covering the microphone. Nice try, though.

  • fake

  • notice that before and after the 35th second you could hear people's voices, but not when the "Mic was covered"

  • READ the subscription everyone else in the plane heard that sound to so he wasnt covering the mic!

  • I'm not sure if the plane was in any real danger. If there was a failure, it happened late in the glidepath and the plane landed normally. The crew made no announcement but then there wasn't a lot of time and they were probably very busy. Did the porp stop? I don't know - we saw it for a split second and it appeared to be stationary - but NOT feathered, which could mean an engine failure or could mean a photographic anomoly, due to frame rate being the same as prop speed rate.

  • Sounded like an engine surge, nothing to worry about.

Engine surge make a loud bang, which caused the pilot to reduce power to correct it, than power back up.

  • when you put your finger over the mic it makes the same sound .....hmmmmmmm

  • woah, thank god it started right back up

  • poor quality video

  • just a litle bit of water in the fuel no big deal,

    joking,

  • Hmmm. Hand over the mike. Nice.

  • That is - hand *covering* the microphone.

  • what kind of plane is this

  • I believe it's and ATR 42 or 72

  • sounds like a blowoff .. and than restarting

  • Seconded.

  • When on a small aircraft such as that one the engine cuts off at cruising altitude

  • No it doesnt. That would Stall the plane eventually.

  • LOL that freaked me out over here, and im sitting infront of the computer XD felt the fear raise inside me lol,the sound,on and of on and of,finaly on..what the fukk are they doing?

  • "Captain! What can we do!"

"Nothing we are well and truely fucked..."

  • engines on idle power, the prop is still spinning. he was prolly going too fast n needed to slow down quick.

  • were u guys like just cruising?? after that

    ? uhmm lol? i guess..

  • hhaha, and also children dont chat anymore :):) mic cover for shure

  • And welcome to another episode of "Armchair PIlot" !! where you the viewer can make up whatever bollocks you want and attempt to pass it off as qualified knowledge of the operation of airliners!...

  • quit being such a dick

  • Go and get a haircut ya wee tramp!

  • Bahaha.....tramp aye?

  • Well yes, or any other sort of vagrant that takes your fancy. If you dont like 'tramp' perhaps we could call you a "Rag and Bone man" or maybe even a 'Wee Jake', the choice is yours my young friend...

  • Right...

  • Ok guys I am a pilot and in this situation the pilot has no time to tell u anything...;o)

first he must asure the flight path and then he has to do a engine checks...
