  • BBC does the best documentaries.

  • u kno tht has a relly great wolf-like howl evan better than me

  • epic wolf call ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wolves. Smoke a pack a day!

  • The most beautiful animals I could ever imagine to exist.

  • most beautiful sound ever

  • The music sounds like Arvo Pärt.

  • David Attenborough howing at a wolf pack. THIS is exactly what I am happy to pay my TV licence for!! Keep yer Eastenders, bring on more Attenborough's amazing documentaries, voice and wolf howling. Simply, I love him.

  • omg attenborough can speak the language of other animals, that explains how he knows so much, he;s a real life dr doolittle lolol

  • I want this man to narrate my hangovers in the morning..

  • Fucking love wolves!! Such beautiful and deadly animals.

  • OFWGKTA .

  • WOLF GANG !!!

  • david attenborough - BEST FUCKING NARRATOR EVER (closely followed by morgan freeman)

  • @ivar3145 Attenborough is the greatest and Morgon has that kind of voice you could listen to all day also, I think that's why he narrates in so many movies also. They could voice over a stamp collecting documentary and I'd probably still watch.

  • a documentary without Attenborough's voice is like cookies without chocolate

  • nice howl! *goes off to practise*

  • such mystical feel of the wolf looking at the sky and howling

  • hunting kills animals :(

  • The success of a species is not just based on it's hunting abilities. Someone below said that Tigers are the best & Wolves r shit. That's like comparing apples & oranges.

Adaptability, Social or Solitary, Feeding & Breeding habits, Nocturnal or Daytime Hunter, Coat/ Fur/ Feathers or Bald. All these things and more influence how successful a species is. Wolves are doing okay compared to many other large predators... so how they are living clearly WORKS!

  • @BritRider27 Besides, Tigers are (unfortunately) almost extinct.

  • wow only 1 in 10 hunts are successful? no wonder dogs teamed up with us.

  • @jjws whats the percentage of human hunts? probably less than 10%, maybe they didnt pick the best species to team up with

  • David Attenborough is my absolute hero.

  • 0.36 I can make you make that noise again later mr Attenborough. Oft.

  • i like this one

  • lol my dog's head just went all kinds of sideways

  • god if wolves were to howl in africa lions would be attracted and want to hunt them... wild dogs use chirping sounds instead... chirps and squeaks are higher pitched

  • that old man kicks ass lol

  • wolves are just too cool and antibourgh is pretty beast himself

  • @IIIZ3ROIII Oh come on. Why are you complaining about Americans? We're the people who invented national parks, after all, and whose wildlife has come back like no other. Even heard of Canada? Russia? China? etc. etc.? Lots of places have trophy hunting, not only the US.

  • @frenk1973 and kicked the native indians out of their homes in those parks may i add, exterminated most wolves and still continue to masacre bears..yes england is just as bad we used to have wolves, our predecessors have been stupid but we can make a difference with help from people like attenbourgh generations have learnt about wildlife x

  • @sorcha24 Britain has done enough bad stuff to enough countries and people that the Brits really have nothing to say about the US. It's not like you're Canadians or something.

  • @sorcha24

So true! The natural world is the most important thing... we can't live without it. We wouldn't be human at all.

  • @frenk1973 Canada actually has a greater protection program. Germany and China also protect wolves. Russia is just as barbaric as America. You should probably search up facts... Also? Last time I checked, they annihilated wolves from Yellowstone not long ago. Timber wolves no longer exist due to America's stupidity. That's why they reintroduced CANADIAN Mackenzie Valley Wolves to places like Mont. Must be the Christian's typical "WOLVES ARE EBIL!!!!" bias that gets them on their hunts.

  • @IIIZ3ROIII Yes blame us Americans we love to kill shit and put it on our walls. We are so inconsiderate towards nature that we have absolutely no programs to help endangered species or keep populations under control. We just drive around shooting at shit with our assault rifles because it amuses us. You idiot.

  • @USkicksass Well, that is pretty true. Last time I checked, Americans did kill all their Timber Wolves based on religion, their shitty farms, their prejudice to such amazing beings and of course, their lack of education in the world! Even China is better than America at math, and has a lot less teenage pregnancies!

  • @Tyco200 You're right, Americans are straight up retarded. We have never invented anything important and we are the bloodiest nation to grace the Earth. We've slaughtered tens of billions of people because God told us to.

  • Just like in Jurassic Park III... :P

  • thats a mean wolf call

  • @IIIZ3ROIII lol i cant believe that so many humans are morons i dont believe in killing for sport but like any other animal i do believe in killing for survival. And oh its not just Americans Europeans were the first to come to this country and kill every thing on site..lol oh and who holds killing sprees in Africa Europeans. Before you bash Americans take a look at yourselves who almost conquered the world?. Who invaded and held on to so many lands?Who killed so many people? Europeans!!!

  • ...Judging by Sir Attenborough's usual good sense of humour, I half expected him to say "This, of course, requires considerable lung capacity" before the second howl...(Hmm, wish I could do that! :) )

  • @IIIZ3ROIII I'm pretty sure Americans weren't the first "awful creatures" to hunt these creatures. I'm pretty sure before the days of pussy-ism and shit-pantsery there were those who hunted for hides to keep them warm and meat for food. Hunting these days is done by assholes who sell hides for money, all over the world. Not just Americans.

  • @Snoofalah Oh no, those inbred, stupid, Russian, warmongering pigs and the Arabians of Iran who rape their kids also hunt wolves as if they're evil. According to Joseph Stalin, wolves were a danger to his farms (robbed from the original owners, and cultivated). Under Iran's 10th CENTURY FUCK HEADS, wolves are also bad!!!! Also remember that Americans came from the European scum, who slaughtered the natives and wolves based on the bible/the DRUGGY ADDICTION to having farms...

  • @Tyco200 Basically, it's not JUST Americans being dicks. Humans in general are faggots.

  • Wolves are so cute and beautiful.

  • "struggle to come"

Woah too much info Mr. Attenborough

  • wolfs suck

  • ما اجمل هذا

  • @IIIZ3ROIII i am a hunter but i only kill things ill eat ...you cant eat wolves you mine as well eat your dog. I AGREE WITH YOU. i hate wolf hunters.

  • did he say mouth licking is to tell others their place. oh dear my neighbours dog pinned me down and licked my mouth and i just thought he was being affectionate :/

  • this voice is the best one I've ever heard

  • best frikin thing today im so gonna learn how to call like that in the tundra !!!!EPIC X3!

  • oh my gosh you can communicate with wolves?? lol i should do that sometime.

  • i looove wolves theres a game about wolves its called wolf quest

  • But we are a part of nature. That is what Charles Darwin wrote about, survival of the fittest, Natural selection. We are a part of evolution. Why is man so determined to change evolution? If all wolves are wiped out so what?

That is natural selection. We all gotta die sometime.

  • @democratichypocrit If we are part of nature, then likewise so what if we want to influence selection and which species survive? We can bring back the dodo should we so choose (and were able), can't we? The fact is we recognise how dominant we have been as a force on this planet, in a very short time, and we recognise that it's kind of unusual (unnatural!) in the bigger scheme of things. We also recognise the value of biodiversity to ourselves. So we can care about extinction as much as we like.

  • @tosgem We will all be extinct, its called death. I happens to us all. get a grip.

  • @democratichypocrit When did I deny that? Of course we will die, you are not telling me anything new. "All things must come to pass". Does that mean we give up on everything today then? May as well walk in front of a bus, huh? No, we do what is ahead of us day by day, year by year, to the best of our knowledge and ability. Preservation of biodiversity is one of those things we do and are entitled to do, contrary to the opinion you expressed in your post.

  • @tosgem When did I say what? Are you lonely? LOL. Are you trying to be philosophical?

  • @democratichypocrit when did you say that? Read your comments again. You said we shouldn't care about extinction, just let things die out.

  • @tosgem When did I say we shouldnt care about extinction. I never said that. Nor did I say just let things die out. You ASSUMED I said or meant that. Do you know the definition of ASSUME? The number 1 definition is "it makes an ASS out of U and ME." LOL

Besides, it doesnt matter what you think of me, it only matters what I think. Grow up

  • that is amazing. wolves could take down anything in a pack and if they dont they probly got damn close to ripping its throat out.

  • @Wolf7032 You are incorrect - only 1 in 10 wolf hunts are successful, meaning that only 10% of their hunts result in a kill. Wolves are not killing machines with incredible hunting abilities - yes, they are impressive, however they are not the best.

  • @BluOceanBubbles You have to bear in mind the evolutionary arms race of predators and prey to get better at chasing but also better at escaping.

  • @daemonowner I'm aware of that. I was simply correcting this person - they said that wolves could "take down anything" when they couldn't.

  • @BluOceanBubbles Sorry, I didn't mean that as a correction and I wasn't disagreeing with you. I should've been more clear.

  • @BluOceanBubbles Yeah well if a wolf wasn't hunting elk in the snow, just say it was hunting a human being through the streets, the human would be pretty fucked, especially if there were a pack of them. It all depends on the geography and environment in which the animal hunts. I hunt, and i know for a fact its allot easier to stalk a prey thats moving through the snow, then on flatter ground.

  • @MyTeenageyearzz Actually, wolves are more successful hunters in the snow than on exposed grass.

I was not suggesting that the geography and environment do not matter; the 10% success rate is clearly just an average and not a figure that applies to every wolf hunt. Overall, even if the conditions are good, wolves have a low success rate, as with many other predators.

  • @BluOceanBubbles Wolves rarely hunt humans. Most wolves would much rather avoid humans. Many actually fear the beings. Wolves are, however, some of the most impressive animals on Earth.

  • @MyTeenageyearzz Wolves are more successful than humans at hunting - Pretty simple. Natural predators will always be better than non-natural predators. Oh, and about the human thing? Wolves rarely attack humans. They will defend territories, and might attack.

  • @BluOceanBubbles 10% is a really high figure actually!

  • @ptango666 no it isnt. african wild dogs get 80%. david attenborough says so!

  • @GETFUCKEDRETARD Yeah, they might, but compared to all other predators it´s actually pretty high!

  • i want to transform to a wolf

  • BluOceanBubbles is the only person here that's been making sense. If you see a black wolf, you know it has dog ancestry.

  • beautiful creatures; beautiful nature..

  • @Thoeify Nature can care of it themselves without human interferences. Oh humans have such a control need.. its ridiculous! In Sweden the move wolves and they wander back to their home/territory of course and they complain its inbreed and they kill any wolves coming in from Russia or Finland = total extinction of wolves in Sweden!

  • I love wolves the best animals on the planet

  • @Facettedchimp76

Bison are so much cooler than wolves.

  • I like how he still howls that loud when he is around 90 years old !

  • Where can u watch the full episodes of these online ??

  • i did that! where you howl and a pack responds. I had them howl for like a half hour :D once they realized me and my "pack" where human they just stopped and gave us the evil eye hehe

  • ВОЛКОВ НАДО УБИВАТ

  • Anyone got a link to the whole video?

  • Give anyone else the chills?

  • Like this, maybe the people needs forget that silly freak to the wolves, they're amazing creatures. Why we can't take care of our planet and it other creatures?

  • aaa

  • STOP THE KILLING OF WOLVES!

  • @666ASPEN666 Why? Wolves are overpopulated and killing other animals such as elk, but obviously those animals don't matter to you, do they?

  • @BluOceanBubbles It's in their nature to kill elk and such, they have to feed don't they?! People kill even more elk, deer and such anyhow. So shove it!

  • @666ASPEN666 Wow. If you want to have debate then at least of the decency to remain civilised; at the moment you're coming across as immature and short tempered.

Anywho, wolves don't only kill because they have to feed. They surplus kill, which means that they go into a predator drive where they kill lots of prey and leave it - they don't consume it. This is having a really bad impact on livestock and elk populations, so we have to control the wolf populations.

  • @BluOceanBubbles You sure are annoying! immature i'm not.. although i am short tempered. People need to learn how to live with nature and not hunt and kill endangered wolves. I'm not discussing this anymore here, ive made my point.

  • @666ASPEN666 Oh for God's sake. WOLVES ARE NOT ENDANGERED. Excuse the caps, but they are not even near the threatened mark. The IUCN Red List classes the grey wolf as 'Least Concern'. You are immature because you have failed to read up on the facts before making false claims, and you also behold a lot of ignorance on a subject you probably don't even understand. I highly doubt that your entire family's income relies on how many animals you keep in your back garden.

  • @BluOceanBubbles Whole comments from page 3-1 = *facepalm*

  • @BluOceanBubbles Biggest bullshit ever. But, I wonder how the mess started.. Hm. Perhaps it was the hunter who annihilated the Timber Wolf till the 1990s? Perhaps it was the environmentalist who begged congress, in the 1960s and 70s to do something, for the elk/deer populations were exceeding at an extreme rate? Perhaps we needed the Canadian cousins for that very reason (NO wolves because of you) ? Why do we have too many wolves.... Oh, we don't! Pretty easy conclusion!

  • @BluOceanBubbles I also think the word "overpopulated" is not what describes wolves. What is overpopulated is the amount of livestock that coats our country. How many inbreeding pigs do you need? Also, in the Eastern parts of the United States, we're having a spread of lime disease...

  • So explain how two grey wolves mate and one of their pups is black? Are the two grey wolves not "full blooded wolf" either? It is still a pure wolf. Yeah that is a valid explanation WHY some of these wolves are black, but it has nothing to do with it being full-blooded wolf or not. As you said it's a recessive gene, every wolf has it just some of them will show it while most will show the dominant gene. So are you saying no wolves are pure-blooded wolves because in their history they interbred?

  • @scottbrig them wolves been interbred you hear, so no they aint pure blood but either or You or I, you can percieve that this really is a point however if you examine the dna strands before u finished looking at them all you would understandit was nearly as unpure as you first percieved on a internet fling for a couple of days in january, now get outta this thread u low down dirty ape

  • @scottbrig You don't understand. Just because a wolf has a certain gene it doesn't mean it will be passed straight onto their offspring - for example, two brown-coloured wolves may give birth to a white pup because its previous ancestors held the gene for that colour and was passed down to their parents. Nowadays they are CONSIDERED full-blooded wolves, but the current grey wolf population is heavily tainted with dog crossbreeding. So yes, that's what I'm saying.

  • i wish i was a wolf look at them sooo beautiful soo united

  • @0.53 not dota sound meh?

Sounds like owl hooting in dota o.O

  • werewolves of london

  • 0:53 Warcraft 3 sound effect

  • 1:35 The black wolves should mate and the light wolves should mate to have better pack :)

  • @DebaCat Why? Better packs have nothing to do with fur colour. In fact, black wolves are the result of wolves interbreeding with dogs - therefore black wolves are not full-blooded wolf.

  • @BluOceanBubbles

    rubbish

  • @Giantcrabb What is 'rubbish'? Grey wolves (the wolves most people say need to be 'saved') are classed as Least Concern - they are no where near endangered or becoming extinct.

  • @BluOceanBubbles

sorry blu i replied to the wrong person....doh! :)

  • @BluOceanBubbles therefore black wolves are not full-blooded wolf.

    Lol what? Wrong.

  • @scottbrig Lol yes. The black color in wolves is caused by a recessive gene called melanin, and it was introduced to the existing wolf population as the result of interbreeding with domestic dogs. All melanistic (black) wolves are, technically, part domestic dog - it is proven by Greg Barsh, a geneticist at Stanford University. Honestly I don't know why are are calling me wrong when you have no evidence to back up your claim, and you probably don't know what you're talking about.

  • @BluOceanBubbles Learn your DNA genotypes and phenotypes. The black pigment isn't interbreeding, its a genetic mutation that occured years and years ago. If black wolves weren't full blooded then every gray wolf they mate with, their offspring wont be pedigree's either, even if the offspring are gray.

  • @Dropbear37714 The black fur colour in wolves is caused by the recessive gene "melanin". Melanin never originally occurred in wolves, only in domestic dogs - so how do you explain that one? Please enter this in Google: "Borrowed Gene Blackens Wolves" - it will lead you to an article written about Greg Barsh who confirmed this theory. The experiment showed that K locus which was found in domestic dogs with black fur was also found in black wolves, but NOT in the fur of white wolves.

  • Wolves should be respected not hunted like rats

  • @Watawaytogo I totaly agree with you

  • Wolves are the carnivore of the north and we should all respect that

  • beautiful creatures!!!!

  • thx to the BBC and Attenborough for this amazing series

  • wolfes are predators, animals, nature...

if man gone, will there be hope for wolfes

  • @Oldschool205 Wolves don't need 'hope'; they aren't endangered.

  • This is so heartwarming, why can't people be like this? To just be happy that they're situated in a pack and to show that to others. But what are heaps of people worrying about nowadays? Work, providing, lines at the checkout. We should learn something from mother nature.

  • 0:53 from DotA....

  • Fucking liars

  • Animal Planet, David Attenborough, the entire crew: a legend that will live ever. They are most impressive. Used to direct film; understand the process. Agree with animals77777. Grateful there are those who are knowledgeable and post their comments against wolf hunting. Most of the wolf attacks stated on YouTube are people who don't understand the animal's behavior and claim they were attacked but in reality, came to close to the wolf and/or its territory. Need more positive postings.

  • hockeyplayya2: Nothing is yours when it comes to nature and wildlife. Species were here before you and your ancestors were even considered to put your footprints on this planet. Wolves do not kill everything, as this would destroy their energy consumption to put them in vulnerability during times when they need to protect and/or hunt to survive. I research carnivores like Wolves in the wild, and it is amazing how misleading hunters like yourself are to others regarding Wolves.

  • @IIIZ3ROIII I can not believe how ignorant you are. They kill everything. Everything. It would be an honor to "murder" wolves as you put it.

  • Animal Programmes are only GOOD when david attenborough narrates. Amazing!

  • i love david attenbrough he is a truely legend

  • @IIIZ3ROIII i share the same thoughts.

  • hes howl sounded like a car down shifting , lol

  • only one in ten hunts are successfull :( i want to run out to all the wolf packs and just hand them some burgers

  • I'm glad this is wolves hunting, not wolves being hunted.

  • Omg I absolutely adore the sound of wolves howling. It's just such a gorgeous sound.

  • I use that same tactic when I am wolf hunting. It work's like a charm!

  • i cant wait to get my wolf tag

  • @hogslayer4ya because white and black americans are native...

  • Subscribed <3 You guys rock <3 Ty bbc

  • David Attenborough naturalist by Day Dances with Wolves by Night. lol

But Seriously David Attenbourogh is a hero of conservation honor & respect to him.

HHAAWOOO!!!! I love wolves, there so cool.

  • @infokemp Sir David Attenborough

  • @eldeano1

    He was knighted?

  • yep :)

  • I fucking love wolves.

  • everybody im a wolf....

  • wolfs FTW!!!

where humans cant survive wolfs thrive!!

  • @plasm2 Totaly! Wolves rock!!

  • next time im in the woods, im gonna howl, see if anyone replies

  • just make sure you move to a different place each time you do it cause like he say its to reunite the pack and ward off enemys.

you howl theyll come to you

  • ..doesn't sound so bad.

  • we will play fetch

  • ...the moose.

  • Attenborough is the voice of nature

  • What gorgeous, philosophical creatures. I think most humans have lost the inherent magic of the hunt.

  • That's because of the civilization progress and the degeneration of our animal nature.

  • On some Discovery Channel show it was showing human hunting evolution. One of them showed an African man chasing a antelope for hours until the antelope just fell down out of exhaustion and died. Humans are an impressive animal

  • Philosophical is the wrong word. I doubt they have anywhere near that brain capacity.

  • Always such beautiful, high quality filming. Long live Attenborough - the true King of England!

  • @Beau1618

he really was peerless as a naturalist in the anglo-american media.

  • @rekke41 he is still alive and making films.

  • Wolves have a mystical quality to them.

  • @ShadowBlazer19

Hopefully this will always be the case and man will leave them alone. (:

  • @RaindropsFantasia I am not gonna take sides in this. What a man does to a wolf if his own business.

  • Comment removed

  • @IEatCum Nice name?

  • @RaindropsFantasia hopefully all those bastard wolves die and stop killing my deer

  • @hockeyplayya2

If we are talking about genuine pest control as a means to protect livestock then i agree i guess. But there is no excuse to kill or cause suffering to an animal for no reason other than the person in question is a sick bastard.
