I don't comment on car videos, but this is on I have to!!!! Cars are not faster than bikes on the track!! None of them!! Especially a Liter bike. This was staged. Considering I have raced both. Bikes are a lot quicker coming out of corners and accelerating. The best nurburgring track record times are around 7:14-7:20 (give or take). A Suzuki Gsxr 600 modified 120hp sports bike on a practice run did it at 7:17.. That's beating the faster zr1, before recently. Check out the ducati vs ferrari 458.

Cars and bikes are faster on differant types of cormers. I watched this at the Roing in Germany. The cars was a V-TECH V8 strapped inside a Mini van, whilst the bike was a stoke road Aprillia Millie. The bike won but each one was faster at differant points
Some cars are faster than some bikes in some circumstances with drivers and riders being variables in the performance equation. Generally bikes are quicker accelerating but require an experienced rider to extract performance. Some sports bikes can pull as much as 1G in cornering and acceleration so it takes a top car and driver to beat it on a winding road. On some circuits a stock superbike will lap quicker than a Porsche GT3. On other's the Porsche wins.

I think a direct comparison on a road course is about as fair as it gets, but not with both on the track at the same time. If you ever watched a Clarkson show, you'd know not to put much scientific faith in his conclusions. He is very witty and funny, but this show is much more entertainment than serious documentary, more of a comedy really.

But to really get a direct comparison what do you do? like the r1 is one of the top production bikes but that 911 isn't nearly one of the best production cars. My 2003 Suzuki SV650 will do 0-60 in ~4-4.5 seconds. I paid $4,000 for it,
My 2001 Kawasaki ZX7R will do 0-60 in ~3.5-4 seconds. I paid $2,000 for it.

As much as like like top gear, I'm going to have to say they're wrong on this one. Especially because the R1 is not the cream of the crop in the bike world. That would be the Desmosedicci. Here is the truth (in my opinion!)
Some cars are faster than some bikes in some circumstances with drivers and riders being variables in the performance equation. Generally bikes are quicker accelerating but require an experienced rider to extract performance. Some sports bikes can pull as much as 1G in cornering and acceleration so it takes a top car and driver to beat it on a winding road. On some circuits a stock superbike will lap quicker than a Porsche GT3. On other's the Porsche wins.

I think a direct comparison on a road course is about as fair as it gets, but not with both on the track at the same time. If you ever watched a Clarkson show, you'd know not to put much scientific faith in his conclusions. He is very witty and funny, but this show is much more entertainment than serious documentary, more of a comedy really.

I tried to post another comment with a link to a pretty fair comparison between an r6 and a GT3 on you tube, but they wouldn't let me post it for some reason. As far as a Radical vs bike, EVO mag did one a few years back, with the rider in this video just barely faster after a heroic effort at Silverstone: a 250hp 'Busa Radical vs a near superbike spec hot rod gixxer 1000- both being road legal. Of courst the new V8 Busa Radical s much faster.

@Firemarioflower and another thing ... if you should spend money that cost Porsche for a bike you would get somthing like Noryuki Haga drives...motorcycle Ducati 1198 R which has 140 kg and 190 bhp ... .. so realize you are comparing for example Airbus A380(car) and Cesna ... however in this case Cesna beats the Airbus

@mcrea996 no way boy. cesnas are slow as hell. airbusses can transport you from the USA to Russia within 20 hours. cessnas are most of the time not able to do faster than 240kmh. the same with cars and bikes. cars just kick ass of motorcycles in any way. rubbish is always cheaper than true quality. thats why cars are more expensive. but they are far worth it. buying a bike is just the same as trowing your bucks into the sea

@mcrea996 YOU dont get it. cessnas are too small and too old. they have the same sort of drawbacks compared to airbusses like motorbycycles to cars. no rocket power can safely upgrade a pathetic cessna without destroying it.
there's no need to swear because everyone knows airbusses are safer, faster more balanced and more comfortable. only drawback, no privacy.
