I was on 5th grade when I played when I started to play Resident Evil 2. That game was a lot of fun for me, killing zombies with a shotgun. But Silent Hill is the most scariest game I've ever played. The darkness, the music and the atmosphere. God...I was just a kid when I played this. But it became my obsession. I wanted to complete the game. I even turned off the music because it did disturb me a lot. And I even completed the hospital without a map! Believe it or not

For a game of its time, this was (and undeniably still IS) pure gold. The graphics don't affect how scary it is, in my opinion. But the scariest levels of this game were definitely the hospital, and the sewers... and the school. >.>

Honestly, it makes me think that game developers these days aren't trying hard enough to optimize games. If Silent Hill can run with 3MB of ram, games on the Xbox360 or PS3 should be so much better.

I disagree with you on the "[game developers] think its all about graphics". The Halo series (like it or not) has an amazing soundscape, a good storyline, and awesome graphics.
