  • This pull station was manufactured by The Protectowire Company in Pembroke, MA and private labeled for Simplex. It was introduced by Protectowire in 1955 and was designated the BG-50. The version purchased by Simplex was Protectowire model BG-50W which was a weatherproof version that had a gasketed back box. Simplex bought these in the late 1990's. Protectowire discontinued these stations in Oct. 2001.The Protectowire Co. also private labeled the BG-50W for FCI during the same period.

  • @gpfjdf Source?

  • @NewAgeServerAlarm I work for the Protectowire Co. and was involved in the private label programs with FCI and Simplex. These units were UL listed and FM approved for indoor or outdoor applications depending on model. The only difference between the private label versions and the original BG-50/50W is the mfg'er label and the key and locks. They were cast aluminum and powder coated. Although discontinued, you can request a PDF BG-50 data sheet through the Protectowire website.

  • Where did you get this?

  • A really old school i went to when I was like 4 had these.

  • It should actually say lift up.

  • I had seen one on these pulls, on a hotel.

  • oh! my school has these installed by my classroom. but they are gonna get replaced by a bg-12. so they said i could hav the rest. ill let you know what model # it is.

  • You've gotta use this in your next test! Or the national time t-bar.

  • the post office in butler,pa has one and it is still working

  • I think BG-8 is exactly like it except you pull from top and not bottom .

  • upsidedown BG-8

  • the simplex 4251 pulls the lock turn to the left

  • i think is make in 1995

  • do you use a Bkey

  • you should grind off the "pull" word and make a sticker that says "lift". now that would be cool!!!!

  • i know the model # of it and the year. 1959 and 2856-8345

  • Can you cite your sources?

  • yea i found one on ebay a year ago

  • That helps... not

  • what do ya mean i bought it and it had installation manule

  • Can you make a video of the pull station, and also if you can, could you scan the manual for me?

  • Actually it is smaller than the average pull station size...

  • Its a Fire Lite/Notifier BG-8 just upside down for simplex.

  • I bet it's a 4251-10, because 1 looks like L, and it's a lift station.

  • I saw thoes in my Doctors office, then they switched to the T-Bars.

  • My Simplex turns to the left

  • someone put that simplex sticker from a simplex smoke

  • It's the BG-8 in Australia

  • I have seen those. they are not that old. My mall has the with 9219 like alarms. I did notice one was replaced by an ademco T-bar, but I don't thiunk that they are real old.

  • Does that use the "B" key?

  • Can you activate it by opening it?

  • Yeah, pulling it and opening it basically do the same thing.

  • You should name the title "Very old Simplex Lift station" lol

  • That's pretty awesome. It's kind of interesting how they use the newer simplex logo, not like the older ones they used on old chimes and older horns like the 4051, so I'm guessing this was made after simplex merged with grinnell in 1976.

  • does it have a model number inside? what does it say on the inside if anything.

  • There's nothing written inside except for the UL Listing data.

  • i have one too but my brother is fixing it

  • did it come from ebay

  • No. Someone gave it to me.

  • It's an upside down BG-8!

  • never seen it.

  • ooo

  • That's a weird pull! I saw it somewhere else before on the internet. Thought it would pull straight down or like a BG-8

  • When do you think system test 18 will be ready?

  • hmm

    misleading?

    but cool.

  • yeah it's kind of confusing how you pull it...

  • Nice.
