Beautiful dog I have one and she drives me nuts. They are not calm dogs. I would love to have that clip but no one will clip her like that. I owned my own dog grooming business years ago. REFUSE TO GROOM EVER AGAIN to much work and I had horses to braid. Now I send her out and they just cut her down. Breaks my heart

What a wonderful name for a Bichon puppy!! I also have a Cody...love him to death, he's five now. Raised him from 6 weeks and no I woudn't trade him for the world. They are absolutely adorable and pee-pee happy...at least my little fella is! Cocks that leg even when nothing comes out...LOL!!

@moniquelabradoodle brushing and detanglers help. Le pooch brushes are awesome but expensive. petedge sells a generic brush that works just as well.. Use a comb to find the matts and be sure to brush all the way to the skin. and please don't get mad at your groomer if they have to shave the dog. Groomers love the dogs they groom and hate to put them thru torture to dematt.

@PurePawsInc Use of volumizing shampoos and our ultra foam can help. I will tell you that you will need certain grooming tools as well to get the fluff. That being a strong force dryer and utlitizing a technic of drying the hair systematically while straigtening and fluffing at the same time sequentially. You work a small amount of coat at a time working from bottom to top and back to front.

@Juicyfan01 You may want to feed him twice a day instead of once until he gains the weight he needs, especially if he is a pup! Pups need to eat a minimum of 2 times daily. As for the Coat if he is young it will grow coat. Try our Oatmeal and Aloe shampoos and conditioners to keep his coat in great condition.

I've groomed my own Bichon Frise for thirteen years. A air force dryer and top notch grooming shears made the job a lot easier. This demonstration has some problems that I see--not adequate rinsing of the shampoo(s?), plus using extra "body" products that will dry the hair out and make it matt easier. These are probably fine for a dog at a show, but dogs at home would be a matted, dirty mess after one romp in the yard. Plus, the groomer barely had to trim this dog at all.

Definately a Shih Tzu but Bichons bark quite a lot. You may want to look into a Bolognese. They are about the size of a Frise but quite a bit cuter and the Italian breed of Bichons. They do not bark excessively and are in my opinion much more intellegent then the two breeds you are asin about. Many registered breeders in the States. Breed is not registered in Canada yet

@chicken2266 he used a blow dryer and a brush which was probably a bit time consuming. but if you use a commercial force dryer it can take as little as 10-15 minutes.
