His commander-in-chief Priscus defeated Slavs, Avars and Gepids south of the Danube in 593. Ι Can not see your point about 1200 troops and the "balkan" forces. What is that Balkan forces ? There is no Balkan Country with forces. He was the Emperor of Byzantium so he had to do anything to Keep the Byzantian Empire and Keep the land, at least the Roman and Greek land anyway. He done it.

@TheAMTRAK Yes Yes, Because there are no movies for Byzantium, sometimes we have to use battle scenes from others movies at same time more or less. Thats all
