Simon Sherwood rode Dessie to perfection, Richard Dunwoody, I think, was probably scared of his jumping ability. But what a race, great to hear all those famous names again, I especially remember dear old Door Latch, you could always see him with that big white face.
Remember this race well. Sadly backed Forgive 'N' Forget. The funny thing was quite a few people I knew backed Desert Orchid this day. 16/1 was amazing odds.
because colin brown rode combs ditch the previous two seasons , mind it was a blessing in disguise coilin brown was crap just look at the 1987 race what a muppet he was ,
It is hard to believe now that Dessie was available at that price, but he was the outsider of the stables two runners. I backed the other one Coomes Ditch who Colin Brown preferred to Dessie.
