  • Imagine this thing with the Twin turbo V6... damn sweet car.

  • They should let Ford Australia's FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) division at it....

We are lucky to have these in OZ ....check out the F6 Sedan which would have to be the world's most powerful 6cyl large sedan under 90k (according to Wheels/Motor/Top Gear mags)

This def looks better then previous models.

  • Beautiful car :D

  • this car has been on sail for kile 5 days and i allready see some on the road... and 2 "sho's" also

  • Hell... nobody is asking yall to buy one... why complain about the damn thing? Yall the idiots wasting your time looking it up? I wouldn't waste my time on something I don't like. But anyway... nice car, Ford is getting better all the time. I personally like the taurus and own one.... wish I owned this one...lol.

  • Why won't Ford give us the super high mileage diesel that Europe gets? I drove a Ford Mondeo in the UK and came away absolutely excited with FORD. US models not so much still. Maybe Honda will give us a diesel??

  • We don't get the high mileage diesels for two reasons.

    1) The mileage isn't really that high. You have to convert from Imperial Gallons to US Gallons.

    2) Many of our emissions standards (particularly California) will not allow those engines to come over as is.

  • @TheZachalope You don't get the high mileage diesels for two reasons:

    1) Because Hitler put the fucking Jews in Gas chambers in Europe.

    2) But some escaped to the US, spreading like shit all over America.

The Euro standard diesel would meet any US emission regulation.

    Ford 1.8 TDCi Fuel Consumption

-Urban: 38.7 mpg. Extra Urban: 61.4 mpg. Combined: 50.4 mpg. (UK Gallon)

-Urban: 30.9 mpg. Extra Urban: 49.1 mpg. Combined: 40.3 mpg. (US Gallon)

  • @666thedarkside WWII has nothing to do with US vehicles having diesel or not.

The reason that most European Diesels don't come to the States, is because the different measurements in emissions. Both standards measure Carbon Monoxide, Nitrous Oxide, Particulate Matter, Formaldehyde, Non-Methane Org. Gasses, and Non-Methane Hydrocarbons, however, in Europe the restriction on NOx is not as tight as the US in an attempt to have a better control on PM. In the US, NOx restrictions are lower.

  • whoevr doesnt kno the history of the sho shud go bak an play wit they barbies.. the first sho had a yamaha engine...durr..lil kids..

  • I think this car looks so plain. Its just the chrome that brings it out.

The CAMRY and ACCORD look SOO Much BETTER.

  • well the ford fusion is the same class as those soo you should look at the fusion, not as bland. Looks alot better imo and is very inexpensive.

  • I'd still buy an Accord over this. Ford's getting better, but they won't just bite the bullet and drop the lame box-chrome designs.

  • the interior is ugly...wow..outside is good.... look at the crysler 200 Ev...waayyyy nicer..

  • Mondeo rific or not.. IT LOOKS FUCKING ASESOME.. and btw Ford IS Ford so what is the problem of it anyway!

  • why are you 2 guys fighting does it matter whos frame its on? mazda ia a ford product so acctually it dosent matter what parts and what frame its ford motor co. either way you go!

  • You oversimplify the "Ford owns Mazda" relationship. I assure you that no one at Mazda thinks of themselves as part of the Ford family. Fact is, everyone at Mazda curses the day they got involved with Ford.Ford has already announced plans, and is working towards selling their small interest in Mazda back to the Japanese.

  • i dont know about ford selling their stake in mazda

but im pretty sure mazda is the majority holder now

  • probably part of their debt restructuring...

  • mondeo looks waaay better

  • so much better then the camry

  • Toyota's have no legacy and will never be American no matter how hard they try...it;s only a matter of time before Ford takes back the US market with the innovations of its european and australian products

  • i understand, but i still like the old mazda much more than the fusion, which feels and looks cheap.

  • i know that it was based on the old mazda 6, but the older mazda 6 is much better than the new one. 280 bhp is way too much for front wheel drive, when mazda made a hot version of the 6, they knew that 256 was too much for fwd, and they made it awd. the new one is classic american: too much power, an enormous body, and no control to go with it.

i own a 220 bhp 04 mazda 6s and i would never buy one of the new ones.

  • wow thats great.

  • beautiful great car a lot better than the new taurus and the awful american focus

  • i think ford took the whole "european thing" too seriously here. this car looks just like a rover 75, as does the lincoln mks. it might even be a rover, which is not a good thing, as they went out of business in 2005. for those who don't know, rover was a successful british auto maker for years, but at the end they could not make it anymore.

the whole point of the mondeo is that it drives like a bmw for a cheap price, something the camry can never do.

  • This is exactly what Ford needs-

    Bring on the Hybrid version.

  • yes they do offer those items in other cars but not at the price of the tarus witch makes it good expect the sho to come back with the twin turbo 3.5v6 making 355hp and awd

  • They screwed up that nice European grille (front lower grille)by changing the angles and adding the unnecessary two small side grille.

  • The car looks good from the front and sides - the rear looks ugly!

I'm suspecting however there won't be Mercury Sable (Mercury apparently will be refocussed for smaller cars) or wagon (the Flex will likely fill that role) versions...

  • yeah I agree

  • the car is just a rover 75...

  • Why dont just take the mondeo OVER TO USA.. and done!!

  • The Mondeo is more of a Fusion equavalent - one car that would be a good substitute to Taurus though would be the much underrated rear-wheel-drive Ford Falcon FG range...

  • not... the ford fusion is a mazda 6 with a ford badge. everything about the fusion, engines, suspension, etc. is identical to the mazda 6... or the old one anyway (which is much better than the new one) which brings me to the question: why not just buy a mazda 6?

  • I meant size - the Mazda6 based Fusion and Mondeo are different underneath, which surprised me due to Ford and Mazda being closely linked...

As for the Australian Ford Falcon FG - that is one larger car (styled to resemble an upsized Mondeo) that would likely be a good alternative (RWD, 6-cylinder with optional turbo) if it were available in the US...

  • I think the Falcon would replace the Crown Vic instead of the Taurus.

  • Aren't most of its options already on a lot of other cars?? gee...

  • I actually love the new look and if their power train is anywhere as reliable as the fusion I would actually like to own one. The only problem I see is the tacky wheels. I hope they just mounted these for the show.

  • pwnedrz0, Ford no longer owns 33 percent of Mazda. Ford recently sold much of their stake in Mazda and they currently own about 13 percent now. But Mazda and Ford still will share tech and RD as they have been.

  • Im pleased, they have certainly come a long way, and I'm glad to see quality cars being produced. I wold not mind owning one. FORD RULES

  • those are some seriously ugly wheels. STOP SLATHERING WHEELS IN CHROMEEEEE!!! It's ugly!

  • Looks like styling of Chevy's Malibu...would like to see a comeback of the SHO though.

  • shinyy :D

  • I'm so underwhelmed by this new Taurus.

  • toyota

  • is gay

  • that is japan honda acura mazda design ford stolen steal stealing japan design & engine that why is same japan car is japan car not ford gm

  • Hmmm. Well I think when ford created the 3.5 engine that mazda is using, so I think it is the other way around. Also doesn't ford own mazda, and isn't it divine right to take things it likes from them.

  • oh contrair, my dear Fatass, ford owns 33% of Mazda, and they liked what they had to offer.

  • Ford sold down their stake in Mazda to 13%. Keep up.

    Great looking car.

  • HMMM, I think you're gay!!!!!!!!!!! japan "stole" American and (my favorite of the American car companies) Ford's design. japan design 1st. Ford, GMC, and other American companies were founded first. japan stole Ford's assembly line as well. japan doesnt even deserve to be capitalized

  • The interior looks stylish. But I'll bet my bottom dollar this car tips the scale at over 4,000 lbs. With girth like that, a 3.5 260-ish HP V6 doesn't seem so sporty anymore. Why does an automatic need to have 6 gears? I don't see the point in that.

  • Well that's the beauty of american sedans: big, meaty and heavy. Just the way i like 'em. Although it probably could use a V8 option. And the 6 speed automatic is probably good for acceleration and fuel economy, a boost that this little V6 might need.

  • you know you love it.

  • most of fords quality ratings rank as high or higher than toyota...so check ur facts next time.

  • Agreed.

  • youuu know you love this car, its nicer then the camry and accord crap and you know it.

  • front = acuraish

  • this car looks really really good...def like the interior as well. I just hope its not to little to late, I mean the auto industry is HORRIBLE right now, but I guess time will tell

  • left rear quarter ... at first glance i was like galant?! oh noes! rear is ugly.

  • Got chrome?

  • Oh and this ford looks nice!

  • first!
