  • @Sam5726 They never officially released these songs you can only get these on bootlegs idk why they dont remaster and officially release them cuz they would song fucking incredable cuz they sound amazing now in low quality

  • Downer works MUCH better slow

  • love it

  • Actully if you had of done your damn research you would know that Journals isn't a Diary,it's contents have nothing to do with his day to day life, much of the material reads like it was supposed to be read by someone other then the writer.

It also tells you nothing you wouldn't have learned in CAYA.

  • Huminuh-Huminuh.

  • I luvv this song!!!!!! !!¡¡!!!¡¿¢@'75hcb¡¡¡¡'

  • class of 86 is very black flagish ! one of kurts fav bands

  • None of us will ever be this talented. Kill ourselves.

  • this is obviously the song that came out to be known as big cheese-.-

but a very early very unrefined version

  • this is obviously the song that came out to be known as big cheese-.-

but a very early very unrefined cersion

    CLONE!

  • @WizzleThump I dont no....I dont no....I dont no......lol

  • This is the best ever.... When kurt was young going thru puberty brought out his best...Dont get me wrong I love nirvana but this early stuff is the best and just remember thats what I think... so dont start a fight...Peace my fellow rockers

  • that isnt blethers log, its a different song

  • where could i download the whole demo?

  • he got out in the 8th grade

  • how was this recorded pls ?

  • @faridjabba 4 track

  • @faridjabba i think this is all demo's from the first band created by kurt the "fecal matter" then they separate and "spank thru" was the only song released in a nirvana album and even live :)

  • @taniafalmeida spank thru never made it to any of the studio albums downer was the only song, and it is on Bleach.

  • @mrwinslowjenkins ye. my mistake

  • Shit is pretty dope when your blazed man. ;D

  • god kurts voice is the best if i can scream lik tht i would be doin it all the time

  • wow this is actually pretty goddamn great, very Butthole Surfers-ish, i might want to cover one of these....

  • @PieceofMindmusic butthole surfers were one of kurts favorite bands

  • @yamachicken and one of mine as well! :] at least their stuff from the eighties after that is not as great but not horrible

  • nunca tinha escutado material do fecal matter*-* kurt onws

  • @StompBoxAddict Wow dude i couldnt have put it any better myself

  • I really really really want this tape

  • i like this stuff better than kurt in nirvana. nirvana was okay but fecal matter shows how artistic he was.

  • @bgiterik lol "nirvana was okay" god dude what the fuck man he was alwasy artistic

  • @StompBoxAddict yea i agree i like how raw this song sounds ill take this insted of any poop music on the radio

  • omg this is sooo cool i wanna coverthis i wanna know what equipment hes using for this!!

  • O.O is this really kurt...Cobain?!!!???

  • @SeeingTheDarkNight of course...

  • @taniafalmeida what was i thinking when i asked is this really kurt lmao.

  • @SeeingTheDarkNight yeah lmao :p

  • O.O is this really kurt...Cobain?!!!???

  • lols is this really kurt...Cobain?!!!???

  • @SeeingTheDarkNight

Yes but this was done when he was only a kid I'm pretty sure that Novasellic is on it too

  • @mittens50 lol my computer is crap i wrote O.O is this really kurt...Cobain?!!!??? like 50 times.

  • where did you get this man?

  • the clapping in class of '86 from Flipper, there it alot of Flipper influence in his demo album, as well as Black Flag and the Melvins of course!!

  • yeah Chris you're totally right hahahahahahahaha, responding to myself on youtube... I'm a jack ass!! Dig it! hahaha

  • bits of this really remind of of Devo

    brilliant stuffffffffffff

  • Kurt was like 17 or 18 when he made this! Thats fucking impressive!

  • @RebelThoughts he was 18

  • @RebelThoughts this was made in 86 he was 19 these are the demos that made krist actually want to do a band with kurt

  • i sear i will never talk to him as long as i live

  • @budbro69 As soon as I started to read this... I heard him say that. That was amazing

  • damn its like greg ginn bought a fuzz box

  • steal a sound and imitate.

  • not even!! Kurt was influenced by a lot of bands. He liked what he heard and he put his own twist to it. I listen to Flipper and I hear a big Flipper influence but not "imitation"

  • @darthsarth steal a sound and imitate is a lyric from aerozepplin

  • "slip her the hot beef infection, im hopin she gives me a hand job, hmna hmna ha"

  • Blather's Log has a class chorus riff.

  • these recordings inspired me to write a song today.

  • and that's how it begins. Keep at it!

  • i'm confused. some videos say fecal matter/nirvana. i basically found out about fecal matter today, and i'm a huge fan of nirvana. so my question is: is fecal matter the old name for the band nirvana?

  • @Bulletwithguns. Not necessarily. This was a premature band formed between Kurt, and Dale Crover of The Melvins (during the recording of this demo), and for some time buzz osbourne.

  • @Bulletwithguns - Fecal Matter was Kurt Cobain's first band back in 1985, before he started Nirvana. He actually used this tape to convince Krist Novoselic to join and form Nirvana

  • this version of downer sound pretty cool

  • @ledzepguy yeah, id you listen to any Flipper it kind-of sounds like them, Kurt definetly got influenced by them

  • Yeah. Definitely a combination of Black Flag, Flipper, and the Meat Puppets.

  • lol this is funny cause Kurt never graduated!!

  • if you were a record executive you WOULD NOT sign kurt cobain because that implies you were an executive around 1991.....you were looking for MC HAMMER NOT COBAIN!!!

or are you gonna tell me you would be the only record executive with a brain?

  • ha, i love the whistling in downer. it's so out of place! lol.

  • It shouldn't have in the first place. I love Kurt Cobain, don't get me wrong, but it IS his fault that punk made it as far into the mainstream as it did today.

  • I think Courtney Love is going to sue somebody. lol

As far as I know she and 2 others are the only people with this tape. How it got circulated is far beyond my comprehension.

  • actualuy couple thousand had this tape at first

  • Well if she really loved Kurt she wouldn't mind as long as true fans are still loving his music! But she most likely would would because she just cares about the money, I guess not much has changed since she started mooching off the next rock star after Cobain.

  • @MyNirvana101

    Grow up.

And read further into their relationship.

    This isn't the 90s anymore.

  • brainlessism is obviously commenly ocurring in this area.

this song is about alot of you highschool fool germs on this future hellish device

  • I would kill for this tape! KILL! OK, maybe not kill, but sprain ankles definately!

  • You're all gay... Yeah, we all love this music, but would you please get a life though?

  • This is our life

  • its actually kinda cool that that they tryed to hide these songs... it makes these demos sound more... welll, more "Special" i guess,

  • Every work from Nirvana is great.

  • Its funny how Kurt was made fun of at school and all of the sudden his old classmates saw him on the telly in 1991...

  • @crowbarftw i know everyone one thinks i am never gona do anything with my life cause they think i am so stupid but i am 15 i play gutair and can sing i am gona get a band together and there all gona see me on mtv with there kids loving my band

  • @Element4078 damn man i feel the exact same way =D

  • @crowbarftw Thats how its gonna be for me!

  • its called class of '86. just because he says "buffy's pregnant" doesnt mean thats the name of the song. just look at baba o' reilly

"we got wasted and beat up some punk rock faggots" lol

  • this really should have been in a nirvana album cos its really really great

  • I like the album version better, cuz he sounds like Gordon Gano in it. Album version seriously almost sounds like a Violent femmes song, which is badass in my opinion.

  • Class Of 86' was originally called - Buffy's Pregnant

  • it's called class of 86

kurt wrote it to make fun of the kids his senior year b/c he was failing all his classes and dropped out .

  • @dirtynuke we was actually making fun of jesse reed's class of 86 yearbook. :) and a sitcom Tv show featuring buffy and on the show she got pregnant and told her parents

  • @odiumimbues HE* dont send me messages asking if i knew kurt, I clearly didn't.

  • @dirtynuke he didnt drop out he graduated n he had art scollerships waiting for him but he was to focused on music so he didnt go to college and his mom kicked him out 4 that

  • @pukeonmyshoe2130 No, I'm pretty sure he dropped out of high school before he graduated...

  • @pukeonmyshoe2130 Learn your shit kid. Read the diaries.

  • @Tfr3sh17 Screw that, those diaries were not meant to be read. Kurt's shit-ass wife published them.

  • @catscatscatz man, i couldn't agree with you more. if someone reads the Cobain diaries and call them self a nirvana fan they are a liar. they are a mall punk of grunge. they are a courtney love. much rather read heavier than heaven a REAL biography, not one written against his will. that is not only disrespectful, but sickening.

  • @IAmRonaldMcRaygun Nice. It's good to hear about *someone* else who agrees with me. I will *never* read the diaries. His life is tragic enough without having me read through his private thoughts.

  • @IAmRonaldMcRaygun

You should read "Come as you are" by Michael Azerrad. The author literally talked with Kurt, Dave, Krist, and anyone associated with them, and wrote their story in a professional, interesting way. It's probably the best Nirvana bio, considering that the author talked to the primary sources.

  • @scartissue94 yea i read it twice dude im reading it again

  • @IAmRonaldMcRaygun well i couldnt disagree with either one of you more,ok maybe publishing his diaries was a little overboard,But not your run of the mill nirvana fan could actually read it.Ive read it and i find the insight into his songwriting skills invaluble, and also instead of reading a book by a muther fucker who thinks he knows what hes talking about i'd rather read what kurt actually said and felt, but only real fans would find this page,so sue me fuck tha haters

  • @IAmRonaldMcRaygun You really don't know what you're talking about, I read the journals, the fact you opted to not read it changes absolutely nothing in the world. Cool dude, you could be the fucking president of the nirvana fan club your just so righteous!!!!

  • @catscatscatz

    No she didn't.

  • Buffy´s Pregnant is Class of ´86.

  • this is grunge. dont believe your local rock radio. especially waaf's grunge plunge in boston. stp, pearl jam, and space pig may have been inspired by grunge, but god-forbid they play a melvins song or announce a current melvins show on the radio.

  • You tell The Melvins that they're grunge.... see what happens. Buzzo HATES grunge.

  • i no like wat the hell!

dudee some1 seriously needs 2 makea "grunge" station!

  • grunge is shit. nirvana are the only good "grunge" band. plus they didnt call themselfs grunge, people called them grunge!

  • no way! id say nirvana the best but others r good

    -Alice in Chains

-ehhh some ppl like peal jam

    -mudhoney

    -etc

  • Yeah you're right almost every grunge band had that stupid fuckin Pearl Jam voice

    it sounds so fake

    But Mudhoney kicked ass

  • yea your right grunge bands didnt like the label grunge but your sadly mistaken if you think nirvana was the only band from that era with talent look at the melvins, Skin Yard, Mudhoney, The Gits, Meat Puppets, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam ... the list goes on all amazing bands with lots of talent

  • Yeah plenty of them had talent, some maybe more than Nirvana, but Nirvana was just the most popular so they don't dive deeper into it and just affiliate the most popular with the greatest.

  • kurt was the best musician thats why Nirvana was so big, he was a genius, just listen to this, the guy was astounding. this is the greatest music i have ever heard

  • I agree 100% that Kurt Cobain was the best musician I have ever seen and he was a musical genius, but there are many other great bands out there. Like for example, The Frogs and Mclusky, they're amazing and it heavily influenced Nirvana, I love true punk music. Like this ^^^

  • So why are you calling them grunge? Do you think the other bands you call grunge called themselves grunge? Therefor your comment that grunge is shit doesn't mean anything.

  • im not callin them grunge, im callin them ''grunge'' as in the way they were labled by the media. and that comment was my opinion no one elses (read up burnthewitch cos this is aimed at u ya prick) and an opinion cant be wrong. think about it before any cunt replies.

  • What comment? I was commenting

yrmexmetanoia's post. Why are you acting like a child with the name calling?

  • No, its called Class of ´86, Buffys Pregnant is a mislabel.

  • idk, i think its buffys pregnant...

  • fecal matter is the greatest!!!

  • does anyone know where I can find lyrics and decent tabs for illiteracy will prevail?

  • you're a fucking moron

  • The FMD was 100x better than anything Kurt ever did. He pretty much dumbed down his sound after FMD. In Utero was OK.

  • Bleach was the most lookalike to FMD cd.. don't tell me you don't like Bleach..

I mean, if you don't like Nirvana's other cd's you don't like Nirvana, you like Fecal Matter, which wasn't the same. Hairspray Queen is from Incesticide, and that was one of his first songs too

  • Bleach was the most lookalike to FMD cd, are you kidding? Harmonically, Rhythmical, they're diametrically opposed.

"If you don't like Nirvana's other cd's you dont like Nirvana" I like In Utero. Therefor I like Nirvana. Incesticide was not an album; it didn't represent a time period for the band. It was a compilation. And yes, I like most of Incesticide. Therefor I like Nirvana. I like Nirvana, I was just saying FMD was better than Nirvana. Jesus christ.....

  • Instead of saying "Jesus Christ.." as if you were the grunge expert, understand what I tried to say. First, from ALL Nirvana's cd's, Bleach ws the most lookalike to Fecal Matter, Incesticide could be in some songs, but Bleach is. Then, Incesticide WAS an album, it was a compilation of rare songs, but it was an album, cause they had to record it. You said Kurt "dumbed" his sound, that's not true, Kurt wasn't even 20 when he recorded FMD, til Bleach 1989.. a lot had changed in Kurt's likes

  • the first one is actually Buffy's Pregnant

  • Awesome!

    We hope all is well.

    xoxo

THE CLARENCES (robert, amanda, molly & donna)

  • HAHA yes kurt knew what he was doing all along...FUCK hardcore

  • you also have to love raw shitty home recorded stuff. it has the best sound for some reason. i like it more than perfected studio recordings

  • this was recorded at his aunts shitty studio he didnt record it at home.

  • gotta love tape recordings

  • you must hear this!!!!!

    then everything is change.

you can believe Nirvana is not just a usual punk band now.

He has originality and not easy to see it. so I want to call him Genious!!

  • what was kurt? like 16 when he made this?

    amazing.

  • He was 18, 2 months from turning 19 when he made this.

  • The torrents in your link aren't available anymore. Got a rapidshare link or anything like that?

  • COOL version of downer. never heard this before

  • Amazing materialsssssss. If Nevermind legarcy edition will release someday, it must be remarstered. powerful and fresh. and absolutely he is genious. true...

  • I love Blather's Log!!!

  • YEEEAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!

  • Kurdt Cobain was a genius from the start..... this is heavy stuff.

  • fecal matter downer iss sddsdd sdffdfkji

  • This version of Downer rocks!!!

  • I keep coming back to this song ...its so fucking awesome and catchy

  • Which one?

    I mean, there are three^^.

My personal favorite of these is Blather's Log.

  • Dale Crover rules

  • first song called 'Buffy's pregnant'

  • It's called both Buffy's Pregnant and Class of '86.

That's the funny thing about Fecal Matter... You can argue about their song-titles all the time...

  • GRUNGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • dude this aint grunge :) atleast it wasnt named grunge at this time, nirvana with bleach and fecal matter were sure they were punk ( theres a hell of alot of punk types though )

  • that's the thing i don't understand though...

they hated when ppl classed there music as "grunge"...

what's so wrong with this genre?????

plus it's clearly stated that this "grunge" deprived from punk so i really dont see why tehy were so picky about it at the time

  • They hated that every single band that came from the Seattle area in the early nineties was being classified as "grunge", when clearly, Nirvana and Pearl Jam were very different types of music, but they were both generalized as "grunge".

  • to this time it was more a heavy metal-punk-rock combo^^ later with songs like smells like teen spirit it finally turnd into a heavy punk- rock- pop style called GRUNGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • I can see why your username is headache888. Your idiocy fanboyishness is giving me a headache.

  • invasion of the swan burger!!

  • love it

  • Kurt sounds so young! This song rocks.

  • :D exactly!

  • cuz he was lol

  • pure grunge!!!!

  • bad quality = wayne... the songs owns ... SEE U IN HELL COURTNEY!!!! )8=3

  • i dont understand to fable of bat quality and more...they are young boys with no money...

  • bass line kills

    thanks 4 this

  • i like the guitar in this

    great song

  • i miss kurdt

  • awesome song. simpley said

  • hm... blathers log sounds mmore like indie as grungge

  • Buffys Pregnant is Class of ´86.

  • This also proves Kurt was a good guitarist... he puts good stuff together... not just solo's and constant lead guitar wankery!

  • well said

  • does anyone know where I can get this?

  • nevermind
