  • Real demo should be providing the flac in 24-bit to listen not ultra low quality of YT.

  • creo poder hacer mas cosas con mi triton studio jajajajaja nooo mentira.... :P

  • is it me or is that just the worst music.....

    EVER!!!!!

  • Stephen is GREAT. He has written me 2 nice reply letters when I had questions about buying my m3-88 and then about it. Jordan may be a better pianist but who invented KARMA for KORG? It is like nothing else out there. It's not for everybody, but it can do amazing things if you get to know how to use it, and it keeps getting better and better year after year. You shouldn't judge what you don't know or understand. Preconcieved notions are bad KARMA. ROZERAM

  • Kid in the background drops his bag at 3:41

  • This guy is my uncle

  • @flanboi55 luckyyyyyyy

  • It is a professional quality instrument, I played one several times in Guitar Center and is an amazing instrument.

If you have the money go for it.

  • WHY....must all demos for synthesizers [especially 8000 dollar ones] sound cheesy and shitty?

  • @BLACKSUNR1SE becasue are not mastering or processed in high fidelity recorders otherwise your speakers or headphones are not for listen a $8000 instrument, or maybe it is you. Some people say Access Virus in the best sound, others say it is the Jupiter 8, others say It is the Alesis Andromeda.

All are fantastic instruments some people done have karma with some instruments, nothing wrong with, is perfectly normal.

  • @BLACKSUNR1SE because despite making great instruments, the companies have shitty management, an $8k sounding like a cheap Casio..../sigh

  • @BLACKSUNR1SE Did you expect anything less from a dude that looks like Kenny G? I agree. They all sound like 80's promotional DVD intros. That always bugged me about keyboard demos.

  • The M3's Dad or brother

  • @javon2013

Son, since it came after M3.

  • @gombie DId it really. I thought the like came out like at the both time

  • @javon2013

Well it turns i was wrong... Oasys came before m3, that makes it either M3's dad or big brother... Depending on wich title you prefer.

  • cheesey music

  • I have one and is amazing .....

  • waww omg

  • You could spend 8 Hours a day everyday for the rest of your life going through all this synth/workstation has too offer, and you wouldnt see everything it can do because you would die of old age first.

  • beast beast beast beast beast beast beast beast beast beast

  • I have a Yamaha PSR E323 ;D

  • this instrument is a beast...Korg should have not overpriced it and charged about $4500 for it and it would have still been in production...that is what you can get them on ebay for now so that is the demand.

  • So this thing plays the music for you?

  • Complex..very complex machine..but one of the best digital synthesizers ever made..i love the Oasys, and the Elektron machines..and the Nord Modulars :-))

  • Boring...

  • I see this video again and again... the best Korg combi video!

  • @digitalmonkeynuts hahahahaha

  • 3min 42sec Bag Fail!

  • Awesome

  • what was that first chord

  • @Antweezysx Minor 7th add9 by the sounds of it, try C bass (thumb and little finger octived) then Eb G Bb D (right hand)

  • @digitalmonkeynuts THANKS!!

  • Wow, what an expensive lift music generator. Doubtless a powerful tool for the compositional side of things, but the patches here sound particularly vile.

  • @patr1ckification :) You should check out jordan rudess' demos for the sound possibilities.

  • I so want to have this song! This is like Jarre on steroids!

  • @vstman sounds nothing like Jarre :|

  • @digitalmonkeynuts I know, still I love the sound a lot. Yet at 1:32 it feels like Rendez Vouz 5.

  • ok!!!!!!!very good machine..maybe the best!!but too much money!!!!!

  • hating karma is bad karma.

  • Haha... I'd liken this thing to Microsoft Windows 7, very cheesy cheapo looking LCD screen. Never mind it runs a customized Linux operating system, 'cause it would piss Mr. Gates.

  • @dvamateur

Suicide is your genetic role. MEET YOUR EXPECTED FITNESS! Don't disappoint Darwin! :D

  • @sciences8 No sure why you are suggesting that I kill myself, although according to the survival of the fittest, I definitely don't stand a chance. Nonetheless, I am still alive, and I very much prefer sports-car-like sexy Nord Lead 1 or 2, instead of this clumsy mama SUV-type OASIS thing, with the oversized GPS navigation system.

  • @dvamateur

But bashing Korg makes you feel better? Right......

  • one word, omnisphere full stop end of

  • I'd take a MS20 over this garbage any day.

  • OMFG, because these machines are so rare, I WANT TO BUY ONE AND KEEP IT FOREVER!!!!!!!!!

  • 25 people will be affected by karma

  • NIce OASYS-KARMA arpegiator nr1

  • not impressed at all,all those synth samples.. ,you should have shown some real sounds of this machine...

  • @desiguy118 he did. and the samples were made with the machine.

  • @phadedlife well i know he did it and the synths are good, but i mean i wanted to hear some real voices like Strings,Voilen's,Symphony's etc, beacuse such a costly machine should have some real sounding voices or real instruments...actually i am more inturested in real instruments and i like to use Vst's like HollyWood strings etc...

  • How does it compare too the Tyros 3 ?

Im thinking of getting the Tyros 3, does anyone have it soo they can explain about it abit ?

  • @AzZA248

The Tyros is a piece of crap compared to an OASYS.

  • 2:13 is my favorite

  • is this the real Stephen Kay who did the demo songs on the Korg Trinity? I love this guy, he once replied to me years ago by letter when I asked him for advice. Such a nice guy, hope he is doing well.

  • Awesome! Really great playing of such a fantastic keyboard.

    Respect.

  • @GearTutorials but he is mel gibson from braveheart (omg can't u see it???) xD

  • @TheMrbrainwash try the korg m3. I m also a student and i save money for a korg m3 73 (i thinks its the best choice after oasys) ;)

  • How would it stack up against the Yamaha Tyros3?

  • great, but way to expensive for a student like me

  • @TheMrbrainwash have you thought of selling your body?

  • They are not that hard to play--I have owned one for about 3 years--also the Korg Karma is really wild--

  • keyboard fantastic,

    what`s price for keyboard?

  • Anyone else think, because of his hair, he looks like mel gibson in braveheart?

  • @GearTutorials Yea dude

  • I would have sex with that keyboard! Holy shit that's a sexy keyboard!

  • no weighted keys?

  • @VacTrooper the 88 key model is weighted :p

  • if i bought one of these how would i learn how to play it? like how would i learn what buttons do what ect..

  • @dm3857 actually the system that the OASYS runs on (same as the M3 and M50 i believe) is very user friendly and easy to learn.

  • very nice thanks for sharing, Korg is the shit for sure. Prob sounds 100x better live than bitted down here on the tube.

  • New age shite

  • I have been a Roland guy since 1984 and owned nothing other since. I don't really see this as an instrument more then pre-built sequences that anyone can solo over. I am paying for sounds and quality. I don't really see anything this does that my Fantom X or Jv-80/880, D-110, U-110, or even Jv-30 cannot do. Well, I guess we can leave the Jv-30 out of it :) Expensive toy as far as I'm concerned.

  • @buminbeer2

actually it can do more. there is not a single keyboard on the market that can outrun the OASYS. The only keyboard that comes close is the Fantom.

  • @Karlboy111

KARMA is the most powerful thing to happen to ANY keyboard in the last 15 years.

And I own a Triton Extreme... so I'm going to include the sex-like Korg model-standard GUI in that statement.

    KARMA+KORG = SEX.

  • damn 7000-8000 $ price? WTF!?!

  • @1jordyzzz used around 5500.....dont panic haahahaha

  • @blauwolfenduro

well, i'm not a pro by myself, so i think korg oasys is not my toy! haha

  • @1jordyzzz

You obviously have no idea of the specs. 4 engines, vector synthesis, and more.

    R&D time? 12+ years.

And you've DEFINITELY never played one.

  • @ORUPRANKSTAZ

yea i've never played one! it's expensive! but i realise that is a very good synth! bx3, piano (300 mb piano sample? WTF!!), polysix synth engine, 2gb sampling memz, etc!

but, the hardware spec i think are getting too old... pentium 4? is it 2,4 or 2,8 ghz?

i think korg should release new version of oasys featuring core i 5 or i3, or phenom?

because newer open labs workstation is armed with new i3 engine... even it's just loaded with 61 keys, but the hardware surely good! haha

  • amazing !!! workstation..dammmmmmmm

  • men..you know what? nobody understand what you are saying.....

  • Sounds like a bonus level on Zelda or something.

  • YESSS!!!!! I want one!

  • i dig that stephen dude...i think he smokes the same stuff i do...:)

  • OMG you dont even have to touch it! It plays all by it self!!!XD

    I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!

  • i adore every sound here and i just love the atmosphere of the music, it has real personality. i really want one of these!

  • Why do they always have fat or grungy dawks demoing these things?

  • 7:51 lol he's so into it

  • Awesome!!!

  • I've used this patch with the M3 and it's an amazing thing.... i've used it in a keyboard solo i need to upload that video but i love the karma technology and all that it does

  • So the keyboard is pretty much making the music for him?

  • @Kurzland

In this case mostly, yes, he is triggering and altering scenes he stored earlier.

But karma can also act more active like analyzing your play and improvising to it like a jam partner :-)

  • great crap, the keyboard plays alone, dont need human control

  • @hypicsiamascarosi

You should read about what Karma can do and cannot do, it would to crap without him playing.

  • he is way cool

  • Loops crap

    Play some piano or something

  • @davidny360 what are you talking about this is great it's just a demo

  • an 80s keyboard with an 80s player and hair

C'mon Korg!!! Yall are getting too eccentric.

  • dude scares me...theres a mighty big party on the back of his head. what happened to the business-in-the-front deal?

  • of course, regardless of how silly he may look, he is a phenomenal musician and developer.

  • how much this keyboard cost?

  • 5000$ on eBay

  • GOOD RIDDANCE!

Who amongst you could safely say that you would've popped 8 large for this when you get get everything you need on a computer platform for HALF(maybe even less) the PRICE!

A Korg is a Korg is a Korg.

It's like eating at Denny's-everything tastes/sounds the same.

  • It's a shame that Korg have ceased production of this unique workstation, for this IS NO OTHER hardware keyboard quite like this. Open Labs have Karma incorporated to their latest Gen, but the depth is just not there, as with build quality and design aesthetics. The Korg M3 similarly does not quite match up to the Oasys in those areas, though it is a very worthy successor. As for Mr Kay's abilities, I reckon this video is just scratching the surface of what he and Karma can do.

  • These all sound like bad 80s sounds. I wish they were a little more creative in their programming...

  • @OFR yet another complainer

if you don't like don't buy it it's that simple

  • Real tasty stuff. I'd like one of these.

  • Stephen Kayboard....LOLLLLL...amazing keyboard...i need one

  • WTF best siynthetyser ive ever seen. Did god make it?

  • @osvaldobarca19 Yeah, I was kinda bored, so I made it, hehe.

  • @osvaldobarca19 yeah, Im pretty sure god did make that.

  • @osvaldobarca19 no, but god plays it (jordan rudess)

  • no , boo boo !

    that's Jap made it .

I like this guy who looked like a white monkey in performming ! Very cute !

  • @osvaldobarca19 maybe ...

  • you look like "bassnectar." Perhaps you should figure out how you could be his replacement....cuz then all his little custi's that worship him will be forced to listen to actual music...and structured "actual" music at that...

Great demonstration-Makes everyone think they could get down like that if they bought it.

  • sounds like a video game theme lol :)

  • I want one!

  • la wea bakan !!!!!!!

  • I love that keyboard

  • This keyboard...I NEED IT!!!!!!

  • lol i've got that board

  • liar

  • I want one!

  • I still cannot understand what Karma is about... May I ask, when tweaking all those parameters, is the effect predictable? Like, is it possible to grab a section of this piece, and ask him to make something quite similar again, with this patch?

  • I own a Korg Triton pro-x, Yamaha Motif 6, & Roland XV-5080. Personally I feel Yamaha has better "synthy" type sounds, Roland has the best acoustic sounds (best grand pianos & guitars), and Korg, while not individually better sounding in Yamaha & Roland's strengths, kind of has a better over all blend then both. Like it's better at synthy then Roland & better at acoustic then Yamaha. Of course this is just my personal opinion. It my be helpful to some, or completely worthless to others.

  • Sounds aren't all of it, though. And Korg has an ever growing sound-base. It's all becoming very good.

Roland has great feel (in my opinion). And they tend to be very transportable.

Korg has AMAZING interfaces and great sounds. What you said about the sounds is true, though.

Yamaha isn't my favourite. Okay feel. Okay sounds... And they tend to be massive, hulk-like things. Not my cup-of-tea.

  • Karma is great. More videos are available on YouKeyboard.

  • so hard work to make poeple get a korg oasys and the korg corporation stop and produce it this i dont understand musch of its sad for stephen kay. but so its the cruel business world. hope korg produce korg oasys again later. its a amazing keyboard.

  • What is sure is that is not a good dancer XD But KARMA is AMAZING thanks to Stephen Kay \o/

  • bi bok yaptigi yoq o alet bende olacakkkiiii

  • There is no Midifle running.

    Thats only KARMA.

    Thanks for the great performance.

    This are only 1 % of KARMA-possibilities

    LiM

  • for thos who just think its midi files unless you have used karma you wont understand this video

  • you're right there =P

I'm yet to own any Korg gear... So I really don't understand what KARMA is. lol

  • hey stupid guy .. shut the f00 up...what an idiot

  • this... does NOT do the oasys justice. where do they find these midi-file sounding demo guys!?!?!?! gahhhh they should really employ me for these things

  • @rlouve He's Stephen Kay the developer of Karma (hence the name "KAY" Algorithmic Realtime Music Architecture) do you think you can be better than the creator himself?

  • great demo, great sound.

I love the Kork Karma, its so badass^^

  • Also, as corny as that was.... That was actually pretty neat. I must admit it.

  • And thus we find out why these things cost 9 grand...

  • that begining is fucking epic!!

  • lol i buy one from one need urgent money with 3500 $ i was very lucky :))

  • This Oasys is out of production now so you can Ebay it and get it for half price. I bought two. 76 and 88 keys. My fav keyboard now. You can also get KARMA soon on the Open Labs products. Also the Korg M3 has KARMA and most of the Oasys cool stuff is in it but at a fraction of the price.

  • why u need two?

  • do you know how much the korg cost? $8,815 is how much i got mines for.

  • this is cool

  • I always hated this demo-guys with their old fashion rock-pop-jazzy stupid songs

  • ok, then hear some rap instead, asshole.

  • its just the creator of system Karma :-) The big Stephen kay ... not a demo-guys ... sorry for you ...

  • that thing is a real monster! but it is too much for me in price and functionality. i'd rather buy a motif xs7.

  • Mastery of the instrument. Impressive.

I got a kick out of his Yanni-like antics - sort of conducting the synth.

It'd be fun to listen to this on a long-distance drive.

  • Why is everyone comparing Kay to Rudess. Kay is more on synthesizing, whereas the latter, on performance...

  • Luccasio's comment was hilarious that is... Keyboard playing was great...Steve really knows his stuff

  • I want RUDESS!

  • The Jordan Rudess's Demo is much better...

  • its just too expensive

  • why? where can you buy it? it's not being produced anymore...

  • I didnt know it wasnt being produced anymore. I did find out they werent making it in a 61 key and the other 71-88 key ones were around 7000 dollars.if memory serves me correct they had one in buffalo,ny at a guitar center.

  • They got one in San Francisco's Guitar Center...The bigger the keyboard the more it costs, the one thats in San Francisco is like 10 Thousand, but its a 71 key...Thats nuts...but honestly if I had it I would buy it..

  • well me too. its pretty top of the line of whats out there.

  • ya i saw the list price of the 88 key to be 8200. I'm sure it's very much worth it though. The platform is limitless.

  • what u play, ufo music ?

  • that actually cracked my shit up

  • LMAO that was funny

  • Seen better demos of this OASYS.

Apart from that: an Motif XS sounds better.

    IMO ;)

  • Which Oasys demo do u consider better? Plz share the link:)

  • sweet lick at 7:01 !! Great demo

  • shiiiiit! i got a long way 2 go b4 an oasys. i got the korg m50. i dnt even think im good enough 2 have an m50

  • Part of what's so amazing about the oasys though is that even if you're not that good you can still do things that sound amazing. Part of what's not so amazing is that it costs $8500

  • Go search Jordan Rudess Korg Oasys. He does a much better demo of this instrument and why being at $8500, it is cheap.

  • I mean ... i know how its like to lose your work ... not Expensive Workstation....

  • Are the keys hot? I mean wow, look at his hands jump sometimes! HOT KEYS! HOT KEYS!

This dude must be in Michael Bolton's band... awesome hair!

  • my dream synth

  • in this video mr stephen kay just show the surface of what korg oasys is compatible to do, this keyboard is so deep that it takes years to understand the whole possibilities this keyboard has. so good luck all of you who get one, you will never have a one our of boring time ever. and combine this with omnisphere you cant go from your keyboard for long he he. its a beast. learn the karma system and you have ours of fun.

  • I change my earlier opinion, about this Keyboard, and the inventor of it, THis thing totally rocks, I got to see a live demo of it and it is totally INSANE!!! Still Stephen Kay needs to make a better demo, to showcase this things true potenial.

  • I'm raising the award for my Stolen OASYS.

$50,000 to ANYONE who finds it an brings it back to me.

    I WANT MY KEYBOARD BACK!!!!

    SINA

  • Now way, you had one STOLEN!!! My heart goes out to you.
