Does Malkmus ever use a pick or only his fingers? It looks like he may be using his fingers here. I don't know how the hell you'd tremolo pick with your fingers though.
Thumbs up if you'd like to enjoy Pavement without harassment from passive aggressive I-knew-them-first-and-better-than-you faux hipsters. The revolution starts now!!!
Such a good live version of this song great way to open a show too. Overall this show off the slow century dvd is amazing they play a really good kick ass set.
Slanted was released in '92. OK, i'll give you that this video documents the last tour (before the reunion) of a band that had, for the most part, already kinda fallen apart after the '95 LaLa tour.
@kiely You're funny (and off topic...). The bottom line is... That any and all pavement is 'old' pavement. And they broke up when they broke up. 'Kinda fallen apart' is not 'Actually fallen apart'.... Know what I mean. AND OMG Slanted was released in '92!? I. Had. No. Idea. Passive-aggressive much?
i'm not sure what you mean by the pass/aggress comment and i'm sorry if i misspoke. i'm a huge fan and have been one since "Slanted". i'm just saying they barely existed as a band after '95 as they lost members and screwed up the few tours they did. this show is part of the last tour ... the two Pavement releases before this were basically Malkmus solo records and certainly not Pavement records like the ... wait for it ... old Pavement!
@kiely Some members? They lost one. Gary Young. Malkmus, Ibold, Kannberg, and Nastanovich played on every single pavement recording. And yeah... I got a salad from Gary during the Slanted and Enchanted tour. So I've followed them a bit myself.
Fantastic audience

Finding old Pavement shows is a prime example of what makes the internet great. I could take or leave Facebook.... But old, live Pavement... Word.

@Oldshirt
ah ... i don't mean to be disrespectful but this isn't exactly an "old" Pavement show.

@kiely Lol... they've just re-united after a 10 year hiatus... this qualifies as old era vs new. Just think about it for a second.
