  • Thank You to all the personel who made this great movie, I hope that you keep making more, so this human generation can change for good. and i really wish that you can show-teach to others directors-actors that are making ordinary movies. We have to change this planet and old traditions and some religions that don't work have to be disappeared .

  • @IWMYB61 Because Max maybe is not an alien after all? Putting those scenes makes the movie realistic which I think is great. It also gives a a depressing tone to the movie which is nice. Else the movie would just be an other hollywood hero flick.

  • This is a super advanced movie and some of the comments reflect this. You either get it or you don't. This movie is incredibly accurate in showing what real, alien contact would probably look like and real insight into a vast, infinite universe and how limited humans would perceive contact. As such, those who don't get it are totally bewildered and hurl insults at the move and throw Samsonite luggage around the cage. Beauty, genius and fantastic acting.

  • Its not about eye for an eye, ultimately it is to remove the antisocial person in question away from the society as to prevent repetition of a crime (antisocial behavior).

It is because humans are rational they choose to be immoral as without laws and punishment being immoral yields more "profit" in a game with 2 parties where the other person plays morally and therefore is at a loss.

This movie has the same happy-go-lucky ignorant set of beliefs as a pot-smoking teenager.

  • @GunSotsOverMe

The “rationality” you talk about is very short-sighted. As much as your point is.

Punishment as it is carried in our societies does not have anything educational and an antisocial person after such a punishment will be generally worse, hence bringing about further antisocial behaviour which ultimately no jail can effectively constrain.

  • @MrSephen That simply imperfection of the system, the rehabilitation part fails but the part that isolates the anti-social person works, does it not? Also the ones that are taken away for life prove your "which ultimately no jail can effectively constrain" point wrong and thats not taking into account Americas death sentence.

I am fairly sure you should have worked that out on your own.

  • @GunSotsOverMe

Great point! So as we agree that the rehabilitation part fails, why don’t we just kill everyone who does something wrong according to our law? Wouldn’t that be more sensible according to your “rationality”?

Cannot you see that your ideas are a staggering example of a cure which is much worse of the illness? Human history is full of such examples. I would urge you to study it, and possibly to try understanding it.

  • @MrSephen Oh dear, I don't need to study something I've known for a while, come on pal.

Rehabilitation fails for some and works for others( sorry i made a mistake of not pointing such obvious point out in the other comment), there is a portion of people who do not commit crime after they serve their time, some people do repeat offence and put away for longer or get death penalty. You should stop rushing to extremes and look at things from many angles.

  • @MrSephen Normally I wouldn't point out such obvious thing but this is special case. "why don’t we just kill everyone who does something wrong according to our law? Wouldn’t that be more sensible according to your “rationality” ".

Killing everyone who does something wrong is severely irrational. Why would you assume such fallacy is beyond me

  • @GunSotsOverMe

By the way, punishment (even death sentence) does not isolate the wrong doers at all. On the contrary it spread the evil all around.

It is of course difficult to change a system which has been used on our planet for millennia. But it is now time to start conceiving the idea that a more advanced and wise system for dealing with the evil in the society would be beneficial, instead of clinging on the same old, short-sighted, fear-based ineffective system as you do.

  • @MrSephen So you're saying the current system should be replaced yet you fail to suggest a better one. Tell me if you do not know of a better system then how can you say that the current system is bad? It sure is imperfect like most things in the world. The punishment is there to prevent moral hazard and i will repeat it again, if a being is rational it will choose to be immoral or antisocial if it yields higher benefit than acting morally.

  • @GunSotsOverMe

I am not here to write a manifest of a new system because of course this would be a work of a few generations, and not of few lines on youtube. All I am saying is that comments like yours, dismissing the this scene and K-PAX as a “happy-go-lucky ignorant set of beliefs as a pot-smoking“ do not denote the mindset necessary to give a positive contribution towards this exceptionally challenging work. It will be done without your contribution.

  • @MrSephen How old are you, are you at least 18+ or am I really wasting my time? New system will never get rid of evil, good is not the ultimate outcome, the ultimate outcome is balance between good and evil. Stability on the other hand could be achieved and we do achieve stability by trying to rehabilitate people or at least prevent them from ruining other's lives.

Your point is an insult to logic, there is a better way what makes you think that current system is not perfect?

  • @MrSephen As you will almost intentionally misunderstand me I will rephrase my last point. You say"there is a better way" what makes you think there is a better way, how can you be sure that the current way is not the best possible way(rephrased to avoid nasty word that is perfection).

While you are flying in clouds, rational people come up with most plausible ways to increase human welfare.

Tip for the future, don't base your beliefs on a science-fiction film, especially a mediocre film

  • @GunSotsOverMe

Insulting your “logic” is something I am definitely doing. If you could see how ridiculous and narrow-minded your assumptions are you would shiver at yourself. But you cannot see, I am afraid, beyond your nose, and the same old fear-based mindset who has poorly run the world so far. It is me wasting my time, regardless of my age and yours. P.s. here is not a matter of belief but of understanding... that there is an intelligence much stronger than the usual “logic”. Good luck.

  • @MrSephen First of all you are not insulting my logic, i meant that you are insulting logic in general. Your reply seems to mean that you are indeed under aged so I couldn't really expect you to have a mature outlook on life bit kid, seriously, do not believe everything you see on tv. God bless you and with time you will understand.

  • @GunSotsOverMe

What Prot is talking about will be the ultimate result, but many other things will need to happen in the meantime, such as a radical change in the way of thinking, such as the understanding that everything is tightly interconnected and that the evil cannot be controlled or minimised with the current approach as it does not tackle the root of the problem. Your “rationality” is definitely not enough.

  • @MrSephen You must understand that this part, what he said is pseudo crap ideological bs of mere writer and is debunked by simple logic.

Rational beings can not achieve utopia its impossible because the the line between morality and immorality becomes less and less obvious as the being's understanding increases. Evil can not be got rid off it is a part of life. The smarter we are the more "evil" we become as well as more "good".

  • Can somebody send me the scence of the next part please were it stoped??thankyou

  • 1:53 best part

  • @nordicpower88 ---no laws no lawyers......THATS COOL

  • I really like this film.

Its not a film that is overly epic by any means, it sort of has a quiet awe about it.

I love the ambience of the music as he slowly takes off his sunglasses, brilliant.

  • @BigTony86 -----SPACEY and Bridges have a special chemistry making this movie its like magic

  • @BigTony86 "quiet awe" I like that.

  • You made happy today...

  • one of my favorite movies by FAR.......

  • This is one of the greatest movies I've seen in my life.

  • @S1L3nCe This is THE greatest movie I have seen in my life. All those who don't believe that should see it again and understand. It's a masterpiece - cinema art gets meaning due to movies like this one.

  • @DKDamilos

I do believe you. Everytime someone asks me "which is your favorite movie" the first one that pops in my mind is this one. No doubt about that :)

  • @DKDamilos i thought the same unless i read the book... although it is difficult it was even more AWESOME! :)

  • This movie was great 10*

  • How we made it this far. No kidding!

  • christ was evil fact

  • @FIGHTFANNERD3 Christ probably didn't exists.

  • read the revelatorium.

  • Christ was an amazing teacher just like in all religions there was a most well known and respected healer or teacher.

  • Spacey is a phenomenal talent and it's absurd that he's never won an oscar. The only plausible explanation for this is that the academy only takes communist sympathizers into consideration, that make asses of themselves publicly . Other wise Spacey, Oldman, Bridges..etc would all have statues erected in their image. I am without complaint however for Phillip Seymore Hoffman and Jamie Foxx's recent recognition. Those two are exceptional.

  • But he has won an Oscar. Two in fact (:

  • @MrGuitarguy1986 Mate, I dont know about the criteria you mention... but I know this: Spacey should take an Oscar for every movie he has played.

  • raised by the community, just like the andromedans. I swear that alot of these hollywood movies seem to be telling the story of actual aliens, but how would they know things in detail like that.

  • Brilliant.

  • Fucking yellow hue. I can't fucking stand yellow hues.

  • How do you cope with the Autumn season ?

  • prot owns! After watching the film I bought the books!!! K-PAX ftw!

  • How was the book? It's on my to read list.

  • So far the books are very very good. But I haven't finished with them yet.

  • I have K-PAX on dvd and never get tired of it...yes, two of the best actors on this planet! And remember, be prepared for anything.

  • prot is cute :)

  • Two of the greatest actors ever to be cast together side by side. Spacey is wort the Oscars!!!

  • who ever posted this thankyou

  • One of the best movies ever made.

Very underrated as well. But its better that way.

  • Thanks for uploading this very special part!

  • all dimensions our around us..there is much to learn from old Mother Earth...she has many secrets.

  • Thanks for posting this.

I love K-Pax and every TV version I have seen cuts out most of this part, especially the Buddha and Christ reference. Thanks for showing the REAL scene!

  • This was a great role for Kevin. He plays Prot so low-key, yet almost profound. Which is funny because the movie wasn't trying to be profound.
