I would personally say that while Islam (and Christianity and Judaism for that matter) are not religions that place men above women, there are certainly aspects that seem to make being a woman less desirable than being a man.

If anything, like Christ. and Jud., it assigns certain rules to each sex.

However, I will say I think everything that a man can do a woman is completely capable of doing, so to some extent I disagree with all three equally.
