  • thats a hard job

  • Are they trained to be serious fucktards?

  • Love this guard for trying to cheer up the little girl! & he has a beautiful smile! I don't think he did anything wrong.

  • Sucks !!!!

  • what the hell? do they have L-82's?

  • @M3ssageT4k3n Yeah, they're real soldiers and carry the weapons that they'll use in combat while on ceremonial duties.

  • @TehDocc o...

  • they need to march so there is some difference bettwen the criminals and the royal guards and the fact the they guard the Queen.

  • LEARN TO KEEP THE CAMERA STILL

    otherwise, kool vid

  • do you reckon in the event of a attack they're allowed to rid themselves of the beaver hat??

  • @treksez of course, but the royal family will have a lot of behind the scenes protection, and wellington barracks nearby has more soldiers who are off duty.

  • who are the 14 people who dislike this?he is only human,im sure theyre allowed to smile.well done colin.

  • thumbs up if you thought the queen saw this video and fired him ...... LOL!!!!! :] or if he said sorry to the queen and got demoted?

  • thumbs up if you thought the queen saw this video and fired him ...... LOL!!!!! :]

  • @TheMulticuber Probably, but their uniforms, and their horsehair hats are hot, especially in warm weather. I'd like to be one too.

  • @SouthparkContent those are called Bearskins.......and are made out of Bear skin and hair.

  • i wanna touch one of there hats they look nice and fluffy but i would proberly get a punch square in the face wont i : /

  • @bananaship17 Or arrested. Or even possibly shot.

  • @Angeldemonboy Are you stupid?

  • he wouldent lose his job for smiling anyway - the officers would probs just mock him for it, or at the most beast him - what a lad

  • @GreenWizard Lame job? Guarding the Queen the Royal Family and the Royal palaces is no lame job and it has been done for over 300 hundred years, this is one of the most honourable and most respected jobs in the British army

  • Im not gonna lie, that was hot.

  • Awwwwwh.<333

  • no one would fire someone for being nice... he was just being nice, i respect him for that. :)

  • "Traditionally the Royal Guards are not allowed to move or smile."

Not allowed to move, but they walked all the time.

  • I really dont know why people find this to be such a big thing. Nothing wrong with a guard smiling at a baby thats scared. we are human not bloody drones lol And a little info about us - the rifle is an SA80 A2 5.56mm rounds. we do 2hour stags usually with 4 hours off depending on availability. we wear scarlet tunics with a white plume on the left side of the bearskin. the regiment on stag there is 1st battalion grenadier guards. that guy later went on to be a drummer in the corps of drums.

  • Why does the Queen's guard need to be so discipline?? Why can't they just smile or walk normal?? Why is that needed?

  • @Rman45215 Tradition and the way Britain is, and Discipline (well some of us)...

  • @Rman45215 They're military soldiers, which also serve in Afghanistan etc. Just like any other countries military soldiers they are meant to stay disciplined while on duty.

  • @Rman45215

these are soldiers mate, they fight in afgan

  • most people dont need to do this but u should have read the instruction manual b4 u started doing videos!

  • @mrpooky9 nothings wrong with the sa80 but it ain't made by Enfield, I was actually taking the piss cause apparently according to the apparent gun smith/ weapons expert it's an actual enfield rifle!!!! It's made by HK (Heckler-Koch)

  • Hahaha Enfield rifles REALLY!! Wow

  • @Danrichards208 What's wrong with the sa-80?

  • its not a guy called colin u pleb its a lad called lawrence that i worked with....no need to lie to make urself look good buddy

  • Yeah, it's really fun watching a sideways video.

  • He did a nice thing and smiled at a little girl in the puch chair who was crying cause she was terrified of him...

Tradition or not, i think he did nothing wrong

  • OMG what a crap job

  • @BERLiN361K They don't do this all the time they are infantry soldiers, getting rotated between public duties such as this and then combat and the likes.

  • Royal Guards have outstanding military bearing. I would be surprised if this soldier got in any trouble. Is the weapon loaded? MAYBE a loaded magazine but I doubt there is a round in the chamber... I could be wrong, I really don't know. As for someone getting "out of line", I'm sure this soldier would have you on your back pretty fast as I'm certain their training prepares them for that. Any situation more serious and you'd have 10 of them on your ass in "half a heartbeat." Semper Fi

  • @STiNGFiST77 agreed.

  • thats so nice that he'd do that... and to all u idiots out there... YES, foot guards CAN get fired for smiling, laughing, or moving besides the traditional march.... so ya

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • Okay just to clarify this, This is Colin MY GOOD FRIEND HE IS STILL A GUARD but now at windsor castle. He didnt get fired and was only doing what any human would do.. cheer up a little girl!

Please thumbs up this so people can stop worrying about him losing his job!

    Thank you

  • @rockyrules1

Of course no one did. Learn to take a joke. And everyone who took "losing his job" seriously. Of course you don't lose your job because you smiled. That's not how it works, and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to fire someone for smiling. You are all retards.

  • @rockyrules1 its not a guy called colin u pleb its a lad called lawrence that i worked with....no need to lie to make urself look good buddy

  • @rik2k6 I dunno what your on about this is my good mate Achmed i used to work with who was beheaded for smiling... No need to lie to make yourself look good buddy.

Please thumbs up this so people can stop worrying about him losing his job!

    Thank you

  • @somethingmemorable1 awww bless u pudding xx

  • @rockyrules1 They don't get tyred of walking and walking and walking and walking all day long?

  • @TheCandymimine I don't know, do they get tired of money?

  • @rockyrules1 :D you have a cute friend :D

  • @rockyrules1 But they dont lose their Job. Because they are still Protecting. they are moved to other duties though.

  • @rockyrules1 Colin is hot. ;) Yum.

  • it's cute, because he risked losing his job, just to try and make the little girl stop crying! awhhh. :)

  • @KAAAATHANDCHAAALRS

    God damn retards -.-

  • i hate ppl that think this guy is just there to take pictures of. i mean you CAN take pictures of him but his PRIMARY role is to GUARD and let me underline that for you the palace or whatever it may be that he is GUARDING> that QEAPON is LIVE it holds LIVE AMMUNITION and can KILL YOU. HE is a REAL SOLDIER and has probably seen action at some point as most have. IF YOU ACTUALLY TRIED TO DO ANYTHING STUPID HE WOULD POSSIBLY KILL YOU AND AT THE VERY LEAST HAVE YOU LIEING ON YOUR BACK.!!! REAL GUARD

  • @itssfergy is it hard to be all in time when marching.

or in training they teach you well?;').

  • fucking camera men made him get fired :(

i hope who took this video gets fired too.

  • they can't smile in sight of people.

  • oh come on they can smile cthey cant move out of position but they can smile

BTW they are using enfield rifles:)

  • he is sweet.

  • i have a headache :(

  • @calvinj72 sameee

  • aw he is so nice, he's risking getting fired!!!

  • @bestpersoneyoueverme you won't get fired for smiling...

  • they can smile!!!!!

  • His cute :P

  • oh so guarding the queen is just a joke to him huh OFF WITH HIS HEAD

  • I wonder what this does to them mentally. hahaha extream bordom

  • i did palace duty's last year, and nothing was said about not smiling, yet i can see why people think that we can't smile...it's because we get annoyed by tourists taking the piss.

  • @itssfergy Are you allowed to talk?

  • @CHRISTIAN6182 nope you can't talk

  • @itssfergy How come? And has there ever been an instance where a guard has actually had to guard the palace and shoot someone? Just curious :)

  • @CHRISTIAN6182 haha, as far as i know that hasn't happened in a long time, but i'm sure it's happened at some point in time. As far as the not being able to talk thing, it's a discipline and pride thing i imagine. I'm in 2RRF so i guard windsor castle from time-to-time. If there's anything else you want to know, please, don't hesitate to ask. : )

  • @itssfergy That's awesome man :) Have you had any annoying tourists that have tried to provoke you or deliberately touch you?! How would you react :D

  • @CHRISTIAN6182 all the time man haha, one time some guy kept pushing me so i threw him to the floor and raised my weapon and bayonet to point him. I then had to wait for the police to arrive and take him for questioning and he was then arrested. If there's any advice i can give you it's that you should never touch a guardsmen because as soon as we get touched we are autherised to do just this :) again, if there's anything you need to know, just write me back.

  • @itssfergy HAHA now that IS awesome!!! I would kill to see that happen to some cocky tourist xDD! Guards seem pretty pissed on all the vids I've seen of tourists annoying them all the time so I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen! So what do you have a radio or something to get the police or do you have to call them up? xD

  • @CHRISTIAN6182 i got an innocent bystander to call the police

  • @itssfergy Damn it now I wanna be a royal guardsman :) haha! That's cool man thanks for the info, couldn't find any of that stuff on the web, just people saying what they 'thought' might happen! Someone said on one of the forums I wonder what would happen if someone pushed the guard over and then stood in his spot...judging by all the vids I've seen I'd be surprised if they didn't get shot!!

  • @CHRISTIAN6182 if you want to be the guards around london, household cav, grenadier guards, welsh guards or coldstream guards is your best shot, if you're serious, be aware that we are still enlisted and serving soldiers and we do still go to war and the like.

  • @itssfergy Oh, no man, I'm already set up at Uni I study law I'm 19, not looking to sign up or anything, I just greatly admire all this stuff I think it's awesome to see and know how things are done, greatest respect to you guys... and to think I've only been to see this part of London once! (I'm from Birmingham)

  • That job must suck man

  • including Queen Elizabeth and other 10 members of Royal Family disliked it :/

  • i never saw the point in the guards tbh. its not like there going to shoot anybody if they try aything.. if they were american tho, diffrent story.

  • @stan123blue these men are scary as hell, alot of people shit themself to these men's swift movements.

  • @stan123blue

On the contrary, the Queen's Guard are 'active-duty' soldiers -- and their rifles are fully loaded. Only very stupid people would think of testing that truth.

  • @141Outlaw only very stupid people would think that "testing that truth" would result in being shot.

  • @jimtheadoremorrison

Oh I see, I guess you must be posting from 'that' parallel dimension.

Unfortunately, over here in "Universe A", infantry on active-duty who are charged with guarding the residence of the Head of State and family, and not a plate of blue blancmange from the ravenous Kobold, use guns that fire real bullets... and not confetti and flags with the words "BANG!" written on them.

  • @141Outlaw I wasnt questioing the fact they have real bullets, i was saying there never in a million years are they gonna shoot you.

  • @jimtheadoremorrison

Shoot you for doing what? Being an annoying tourist? Doing some irritating impersonations? No, you're not going to get shot for any of that.

However, stan123blue said "it's not like they're going to shoot ANYBODY if they TRY ANYTHING". He's not referring to something completely specified, and the suspicion is, he thinks the guards are merely for show. So, what about trying to take his gun? Or darting through the gates with something that explodes? Still no shooting then?

  • ENGLAND!

  • they are not only soldiers.but elite battle hardened ones too.the cream of the british military.with a long tradition and history.

  • this would be the worst job ever

  • awww :)

  • He really likes this job.

  • is that gun loaded?

  • @ZzRvXzZ

    of course it is loaded.

  • @ZzRvXzZ no its just for show there only guarding some thing

  • @paintballKid545

Yeah... it's for show of course... because when he turns back with that STUID hat, one of the guys pretending to be a tourist could pull a gun and easily kill both of them....

  • @ZzRvXzZ are you retarted obviously it was sarcasim THEY ARE LOADED WEAPONS with real bayonets and that wound not happen because the guard are always trained fighting soldiers usually with combat expirence. also there is usually more then theses two guards for example you cant see it but usually other soldiers run marching exorcises on walkways that run at 90 degree parallel in order to match the marching soliders running 90 degree parallel to them P.S. not stupid hats you no nothing about them

  • @paintballKid545

    llololoumad?

again, this is stupid, and anyone armed with a handgun, could pretend to be a stupid touriste, and wait until they turn back with that STUPID march, and kill them (:

  • @ZzRvXzZ the reason they wear stupid hats and do stupid marches is to show humility and complete devotion no matter the circumstances even if they look stupid and you know nothing of the guards traditions also you have no respect for fine miliary dress and traditions. anyone who says that it is stupid is halfwitted simple and in turn themself stupid and imature

  • @paintballKid545

    cool story bro

  • @ZzRvXzZ what do you mean ''cool story''

  • @paintballKid545

    i mean, Cool story bro.

  • @ZzRvXzZ what story?

  • @paintballKid545

    the cool story bro.

  • i bet their boss tolerate that, cause i thin ihe smiled because of the scared kiddie

  • @TheMoogle3 They are professional soldiers who usually have combat experience. It is not an easy task to become a Royal Guard.

  • He smiling at the baby to cheer him up.

  • Legend

  • the must have godlike thighs from walking around like that.

  • I love his smile,,he is a good guard,,i feel warm to look at him ;]

  • i would suck so bad, being a blue

  • Sucks to be a Royal Guard..I'm all for bad-ass soldiers..but smiling is still something human..

  • that guard sure got class

  • he smiled at the little baby :)

  • i wish i can sux their bal$^

  • @japnikki lmao how bout suck mine

  • 微笑ましいね

  • At least he's friendly!

  • how can they see with that racoon on their heads?

  • hes a soldier not evil just because he has a duty doesn't mean he doesn't care when there is a little girl almost crying

  • They wear funny shoes , like charlie chaplin

  • Nice to see the guy in this vid wearing a H4H wristband. Respect to you. my friend.

  • Thats so cool! Professional but not heartless..X

  • They aren't required to keep a straight face. Most do because they are being professional in their duty to guard the royalty. Plus if you mess with them too much they may hit you for interfering with their duty. They are elite soldiers.

  • the Queen's Guard aren't required to keep a straight face all the time. They just are used to people trying to force a grin or other response out of them.

  • someone's having a good day =D

  • the queen is an ass hole for makin them act like toy soldiers

  • Do they get tired of walking?

  • @counterstrikenerd321 do you get tierd?

  • @ScottishPEACEguy If I do it for 6 hours straight, I'd faint.

  • @counterstrikenerd321 Eventually, but Chuck Norris wouldn't get tired.

  • he probebly got fired because of this video

  • @Calion104

Well he didn't.... He's in the Grenadier Guards, do you genuinely believe the army discharges troops for smiling?

  • @pennddoggett yes

  • @Calion104 no mhe fucking didnt prick

  • @Calion104u cant get fired from the army :P he is proberly working in a different department now lol :P

  • OMG >:( SMILING NOT ALLOWED!!!!! CUT OFF HIS BALLS!

    - Queen Elizabeth

  • @w4114h5h00h47h4 bitch thats my son u cunt

  • @w4114h5h00h47h4 like they would know how was it with that hat hiding his face

  • aaww he ws cute! hehe

  • @Sniperb0y008 You're not allowed to smile or laugh...They're the Queen's guards, not entertainers!!!

  • hahaha 1:15 look the head

  • I'm about 64 years too old for a pushchair. Do you think if I sat in a wheelchair long enough I, too, could get a smile from a Grenadier? All my life I've wanted to stroke one of those hats ..........

  • awww he's a sweet heart for smiling at her! :3

  • so,it means traditionally royal guards have to be gentlemen, than to be squeard, doesn't it.

  • are those guns loaded and ready to shoot?

  • @dirtyness3335 Of course, they are defending the queen. If you was to pull a weapon out they'd shot you dead without question.

  • @dirtyness3335 You bet fat ass they are.

  • Yes they are allowed to move and smile, idiots? No wonder people think the US understand nothing about other cultures.

  • Wow...that smile of his...so handsome.

  • Looks totally like Misha Collins :D

  • 'traditionally the royal guards are not allowed to move or smile'

Touch the guard, abuse his patience by extensive taunting or agressive behaviour- you will be surprised as he knocks you down.

  • thats so sweet! i never have been lucky to see a guard smile.. the only i tried was when i was little and i was in Copenhagen with my family, a guard yelled because we look though the window.

  • We need these boys at Dover and Heathrow (and maybe the jobcentre)

  • @cjellwood Thats the funniest idea ive heard in a long time. The ammount of stoned chavs turning up at the JC thinking what the fuck is this.

  • 0:53 he's wearing an earring!

  • what do they do if there actually is a dangerous person?

  • @1AllNamesUsed1 Their duty. They might wear silly uniforms, but they're highly trained soldiers and their weapons are very much real. Their presence is functional as much as it is a tourist attraction.

  • smile for baby. great Guard.

  • could they get fired for smiling?

  • Tht's so sweet <3

  • thats gotta be killer on ur feet.

  • this job must be horrible...

  • thats what they're suposed to do all day????!!!!

  • @MrAbdulmaster

Yes, guarding the Queen is their job. O_o

  • @MrAbdulmaster they guard the palace and the queen.

those guns are loaded and those bayonets are real. they're extremely strict and very, very harsh about procedure and presentability.

  • ouchh that must hurt their feet from slamming it all the time.
