Yamaha got out of sno cross for several years because their sleds were overweight and had outdated suspension (trailing link: that Cat tried and passed on in 1979- Trail Cat). Now Yamaha has AFS just like Cat. Only cat was 20 years ahead of them in switching to AFS. So who is way behind? And Cat still makes two strokes and Yamaha doesn't.

hey umm i ride both skidoo and cats for many years i own a drag strip in bangour maine we clocked and tested speed in a quarter mile the cats from 700 up to the 1000s cats are def faster and actually arcticat does lie about the speed its 131 stock but the thundercat actually was a faster sled then all the new sleds. skidoo though is def a nice ride though look at the stats the thundercat still is the fastest sled

@cfire600 the metals they use are the cheapest on the market the motors are made poorly an break down often under hard riding polaris and yamaha use cheap metals also but there motors are far more reliable the best sled on the market for durability and reliability is a Ski-Doo Arctic Cat cuts every corner possible to save money they cant stop laying people off because people dont want there machines because they get recalled for everything such as tracks fuel tanks shocks engines etc

Ski-doo has had alot of problems with their rev-xp platform such as throttle bodies cracking, and ECU problems. as far as "cheap metal" there really is no suck thing. they all use alluminum tunnels and most manufacturers use alluminum chassies as well. and this year, they only recalled the SnoPro 500, whic isn't avail to consumers, for a fire hazard. dont remember exactly what the problem was though...

@streetpunk83 ok, i could be wrong about being available to consumers. i was under the understanding that is was a race-only sled and cat would only supply it to racers, but whatever. i have owned 3 cats now, my brother has owned three, and my dad has owned 5. the only problems were blown pistons, but because he ran some "sled-unfriendly" performance upgrades like nitrous and chip. made the sled run REALLY hot and melted the left piston on both of them.

@cfire600 My girlfriend just bought the 2010 CFR so hopefully it will last two years i had an 08 F7 and it had three recalls alone which i fixed myself but you can buy the 500's for racing or personal use the 500's for a race sled are unimpressive there mainly for newcomers arctic cat calls them a budget sled the race ready 600's are a special order sled but a civilian can still get one it just cost a little more

I have that exact sled, Z1 Turbo snow pro, and it wont go 137 MPH, I maxed mine out on the lake at 115 MPH. The sled is capable of 137 MPH only if you give it a gear change.

Uni.A.W. had an 09 mcxpress Apex, running 5 lbs boost 180 hp pullin 129.4 mph... I cant wait to see what yamaha has for the future.. We all know what Yamaha's capable of... They have higher technology ,more money then all the other 3 sled companys combined. Right now they are just playing around ;)

im pretty sure every one wants the 03-05 f7 back but they took the 700 out because they were problem sleds they were having lots of trouble with the efis and thats what all sleds switched to so arcticcat had to take them off but they should bring back the older look!!!! and ski doos are way good too but so is arctic cat except they are only pushing 140 hp in 09 but 010s have 160 hp h.o. leading the charts so ski doo suck that shit bitch!!!
