What you should do is have a list of questions, voted on by YouTube and internet users that you will ask ALL candidates from both parties. Compile all their answers into videos, and let them speak for at least a couple minutes on the issues so they don't have to rush everything. This will give the American people a good reference point - they can have a way to easily see where each of the candidates stand on certain issues and then decide.
I find one problem about politics, is that, it is almost impossible to get a straight answer from politicians. I meanyou hear soundbytes etc and obviously the politicans want to hammer home their message but its soo processed and just seem so fake, that they aren't really listening and answering the question. I get so annoyed whenever people discuss politics. I get that way for three reasons. First, politicians aren't to be trusted. Second, running candidates are making stupid comments about the other candidates that I might be supporting. Thirdly, they hide behind the Bible using that Holier than thou crap when it comes to issues like gay marriages, abortions, etc. They need to stop! Okay? Just stop! No one wants to hear what the politicians say. They only vote their own intrests and not the intrests of the United States. So I have come to the fact that America will get what it deserves period. They haven't done anything to stop this war until it's hurting their poor pocketbooks and wallets. I'm all in for a DEPRESSION. I figure doing 12 years service and 2 kids serving. This is a model piece of journalism. If more people used Youtube like this, that is creating a thoughtful piece with lots of information and not just being editorial, with a beginning and end with conclusion. What you should do is have a list of questions, voted on by YouTube and internet users that you will ask ALL candidates from both parties. Compile all their answers into videos, and let them speak for at least a couple minutes on the issues so they don't have to rush everything. This will give the American people a good reference point - they can have a way to easily see where each of the candidates stand on certain issues and then decide.

I find one problem about politics, is that, it is almost impossible to get a straight answer from politicians. I meanyou hear soundbytes etc and obviously the politicans want to hammer home their message but its soo processed and just seem so fake, that they aren't really listening and answering the question. How can that be changed? And as a Canadian, I can say this is a problem of politics around the world not just US or Canada etc.

For example, and very easy way to do it is to have a debate, where none of the candidates can see nor hear the other, and they are given all the same questions, and ALL THE TIME they need to answer the question. Have questions come from the public, not the media.

how's this for a step in the right direction? all citizens 18 or above are automatically registered voters. you are fined $20 for NOT voting. on the ballot under all the candidates' names are FOR and AGAINST boxes. you get to vote for or against each candidate. against votes are subtracted from a candidate's total. if all candidates get more AGAINST than FOR votes, they are all disqualified, and a new election with new candidates is held.

Every time I see a Brett Keane video thumbnail, I click on it, give it 1 star, flag it as hate speech, and move on. He's not worth watching, and if he didn't have fake accounts, he'd never get on the top rated lists.

youtube has indeed been influencing political discourse, but only among the mainstream. I congratulate youtube on what they have achieved so far, though they has been no real discussion that would be considered taboo or revolutionary. Let's get some Abbie Hoffman's, some John Sinclair's or some Jerry Rubin's to start vlogging and then we will talk about real change.

I write about this all the time on my news blog. Illegal immigration is a problem but it requires a realistic view. No walls can keep people who to find away to feed there family. History shows this. The only way to stop illegal immigration is to help Mexico with their economy. Nip it in the bud and without bandaid politics. ~Raven

As long as there are just two major political parties that are bought and paid for by wealthy donors and corporate interests, there will be no change in the sytem. The two political parties are in themselves large institutions that are primarily interested in gaining control of the govenment for their own ends. Neither party cares anything about the people.

Greed is an element that has existed, and will always exist, in human beings. Rather than mark it as "bad" and try and do away with it using intrustive government regulation, why not use it for good (free market economy, capitalism, incentives)? That is what libertarions like Ron Paul are for (he is running as Republican but he has run as libertarian candidate before and his beliefs are libertarian).

I use the word more in reference to the powerful few rather than the millions of hard working inventive people. I fully support Capitalism but i see the USA as having pushed its need for sustaining the US dollar/oil monopoly as getting out of hand. Dp you think we will ever see a Gold standard again? Or do you think the current liquidity of the world financial markets can be maintained?
It is a very interesting time in history and its complexity is mind boggleing.

Greed isn't necessarily "bad". It's ignorant, and ignorance causes a lot of suffering in the country and the world. If so-called religious people put their energy into education rather than free-market economics, we could raise the consciousness of all people. Why settle for manipulation of markets as a way to improve society? Seems counter-intuitive.

Perhaps I misread your message, but history has clearly shown than the free market economy is the exact opposite of market manipulation. Instead, the "invisible hand" naturally improves the economy of all countries that implement capitalism. Socialist-communism is the manipulation of markets that is currently damaging Venezuela and could possibly affect France is Royal wins.
