  • I tend to see the tree as symbolising human free will and the story symbolises human suffering and why it has to exist. It's a little different to how Christians see it but I think that was the original intention of the story.

  • And, adding to my last comment, corresponding with the second part of the video. The answer is Jesus, has always been and will always be Jesus. God is omnipotent, He knew before He created Adam that He would have to send His Son to save us. We no longer have to pay for our father's sins. Even back in the Old Testament, we didn't have to pay.. all God's children have to do to escape torment is to believe and obey. Call it hypocritical, nonsensical, whatever.

    Anywho, keep it up. Interesting.

  • @numommy310 I'll deal with the Jesus issue in a later video. So you admit that god put the tree there because he knew that they would sin, supposedly sending millions of humans to hell? And in order to "pay for their sins", a purportedly innocent man had to be tortured and killed?

  • @calebnf yes. we are all born with sin in our hearts, but belief in God the Father and His Son saves us.

  • @numommy310 Yes, but god indirectly put that "sin" in our "hearts". That's ok?

  • @calebnf Why on earth did you put hearts in quotes? Do we not all have hearts and souls?? jeez. Well, idk. You probably don't believe we have souls either.

God didn't put sin on our hearts. We are human, and therefore imperfect and subsequently sin. The argument does go back to the Garden. Are we still paying for that? Perhaps. Even now Jo is sinning by disobeying her father and I. And she is willfully doing it. She's beginning to know right from wrong.

  • @numommy310 *God didn't put sin on our hearts; we can thank the devil for that. Who, incidentally, believes in God and knows without a shadow of a doubt He exists in Christ and the Holy Spirit.

  • @numommy310 I think you may have missed that point in my video. God is responsible for our "sin". He put the tree there knowing adam would eat it. If you put a toddler in a room with a handgun and he kills himself, the parent is at fault. It's the same thing.

  • @calebnf I disagree. I believe I already stated my opinion on this. I did not miss the point. God abhors all sin, why would he condone it? The devil literally made them do it. Or, I should say, led them to do it.

  • @calebnf a toddler who picks a handgun and shots himself is not at fault becos he does not know better. adam and eve knew better. you can say the God put us humans to the test while we are here on earth.

  • I hate how you can only post a certain amount in these gay boxes, lol. They didn't HAVE to eat of the tree, Satan goaded them into it. Free will is the deciding factor in our lives. God did not set us up for failure. We were made in His image, and can choose to do evil or good. Yes, He knew they would sin and disobey Him, that's why He sent Jesus. Jesus died for all the sin ever committed, including the first one.

  • Heh.. well gee, I don't even know where to begin. There's almost no point in saying anything anyway, as it won't lead you to consider whether I know what I'm talking about or not.. but no, Adam and Eve had no prior knowledge of evil, they knew only happiness and the purest unconditional love of God. Satan only made them hungry for power, "equality" with God, etc. Satan knew they would eat of it and then have an unquenchable thirst for power, knowledge, etc.

  • Problem is, most people who believe that the Bible is the word of God....don't examine it as rationally as you have just done.

  • NOOO Don't close your channel! Dork! ha

  • Wonderful, look forward to all the rest in this series. I think your thoughts are echoed by all that left Christianity. The Fall of Man (sin) in the beginning and Hell are the 2 biggest reasons I had trouble with Christianity.
