The K20Z3 is a much better engine than the K20A3, for many reasons. The resale on 8th gen Si's is much better as well. Go for the 06-08.

I just want to ask. I was told that Civics are better without turbo or SS(don't get me wrong, not that they won't run faster). Civic Si motor can't hold the lbs of a SS or Turbo ending in a motor damage. I just want to know is that true? Is it worth it to get Turbo, is SS better for the Si, do you have to first get better things for the motor to hold the turbo or SS? I don't have one just curious, love how they look

@Danny6984 vtecs are THE most reliable motors in the world, there is not a single report of a vtec engine failing... despite all these gang banger wannabees throwing mod after mod in the engines to get more power. i wouldnt think twice about getting a turbo- just realizing this is 5 months later and its probably not helping at all at this point but mehhh.

Honda doesnt need to add blowers to get 200 hp from a 2.0 they didnt need to getting 200 hp from a 1.8. Car and driver tested the rsx type s vs neon str4, cobalt ss, saturn ion red line and they gave first place to the rsx LMAO. Even the lancers and subies suck ass if it werent for there turbos.

The Si's V tech engine has two sets of cams, for high speed and low speed torque. with a trubo, the Si would have twice as much low speed torque and would fuckin own lancers and STI's

Stock to stock, you're right. But the SI boosted is a wicked car, whether the haters like it or not. A Si with 9 PSI through a turbo is around 400HP! Boost pressure isn't the only thing that determines power.

@Mariolude I understand what you are trying to say,but if the other car companies decided not to put turbos on their car, they would just tune them up differently to add more power. It all comes down to what the company is aiming for,some people rather have some good low torque an response on their car than having to go very high on their rpms to get power, and that's when a turbo charger comes on top. So it's about preference, it doesn't mean that other engines suck just because they use turbos

with the tuning options for our car it really depends on how much money you want to spend, how big of a headache, are you keeping the car long? quick options is greddy ultimate and aem f/ic. quick and easy piggy back with pnp harness. if you have a couple of bills lying around get haltech platinum. works great i know someone with that. or if you want to do it right, change the tb, shift cable, eliminate the MAF, buy a Kpro for a rsx and run that as a piggy back. AEM EMS too but no pnp harness

this is a 50 trim, really max at 3300. i would get a 60 trim BB. that would be great for another 75hp or so plus full spool about 4500 give or take. a 70trim on this motor does get full spool until 6500 or so and that sucks. no fun down low
