Do you guys 'hole up', and wait for freeze up? Or is there trail access to some of Flat Lake?

I'm marooned at the cabin during both freeze-up and breakup. Each lasts six to eight days. Craig is using a weekender's hovercraft, but he has to be able to walk across the ice from his island to theirs to get it. Carolyn has her own hovercraft, but they may stay in at their shop (they install Lexan glass surrounds on pontoon boats) if there's a lot of work to do. They like it at their cabin better, though.
