Ive NEVER heard of needle felting! This looks AWESOME and alot of fun! I have a question. Im an animation student and Ive practiced animating in the stop motion medium(think Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Bob the Builder as examples of stop motion). Are these very poseable dolls? For example if one of the arms were out stretched and I were to fully bend it inward and let go, would it stay locked in that position?Or is there some lightness to it that it wont stay as precisely as i want it too?
@LunatikTokyo What I mean is that when you make puppets in stop motion you begin with a metal armature(made of heat treated bendable aluminum wire)as the skeletal under structure. Then I will build up the body with various materials like cotton, paper, plastic bags, and then covering it with athletic tape as the "skin" of my puppet. Then you can cover it whatever materials like liquid latex to make skin or you can use fabric.Anyway w/metal armatures I can get the precise movement I want....
i want by moving it the arm, leg, head, etc ever slow slightly and taking a picture each time. And the limbs will stay where I want them to. So thats why I asked about if you move the limbs slightly, if they were stay where you want them too. I saw that you use special needles to make your projects. I was just wondering.....I have varied sized sewing needles(as well as the needles for my sewing machine), different gauges of wire(and one of which looked to be the...
@LunatikTokyo the same thickness as the needles you use in your video). Would any of those be ok to use in place of the felting needles? And I looked at AC Moore online(because I have an AC Moore in my town and a Michael's too) has felt & wool roving, but not any batting. Would just roving be fine to use? Thanks!!
hello felt alive, where do you live in alaska? We live on the kenai penninsula. We love your videos, we are just learning how to needle felt, thank you
