Add one more thanks to MASH for introducing this song to me. It would be nice if more shows and movies used the vast library of classical pieces. Remember all the tunes Bugs Bunny taught us? lol
reminds me of MASH all the time, and makes me water up thinking the scene when Charles sees one them dead later on. What a scene when he breaks the record. That does make you cry, especially when they are driving off. And 2 DISLIKES? come one now.
Thanks a lot for the reference to MASH last episode. It was so heart touching also to me when I have seen this scenes. I have bought the complete Mozart Collection before the film was over.
I can't help but smile as this piece comes to an end... I think of MASH and the start and almost cry but... every time, no matter how shit I feel... I smile.
I first heard this watching the series finale of M*A*S*H too and fell in love with it. Watching Charles work with the Chinese soldiers was so nice and to see his pain when they died was heart breaking. He was left changed as he said "for me music was always a refuge from this miserable experience, now it will always be a reminder"
I also loved this episode, showed the true depth of Charles, and it brought very good closure into the mash series. i own all 11 seasons of Mash and watch them alot when nothing else is on:) aIso, for those who didnt know, The final episode of Mash has the record for most viewers for a single episode with 121.6 million american viewers on feb.28, 1983.
I first heard this on the last episode of Mash and spent months trying to find out what it was called. Even though the show went off the air when i was 5, its one of my favs and i cry every time Charles was unable to save the musicians.
I saw that scene when very badly injured musician were under Charles hands and it was very very sad.. i almost cried because all the story with musician i liked so much :)
"He wasn't even a soldier." Boy, this i cried, when I saw that scene! xS And I cried even more when he walked into his tent afterwards and smashed the record.
I love this piece of music so much - its so beautiful.
lol shifti... i didnt look it up because its on mash. i play the violin and played this song at the midwest clinic in 2005 in chicago... one of my favorites!
haha me, like everyone else, heard this on mash and had to look it up about 2 months ago. honestly i like how it sounds on mash cuz it gives it a more saddened tone which fits it
I heard this song on mash and I had to find out what it was. It's an extremely good song and it's inclusion in the final Episode of mash makes that episode even better.
YES i heard it in MASH too and i decided that i MUST find it...it beutiful song...im very happy that some people have same oppinion like me and they now it from mash too
This is an incredibly beautiful song, especially dear to anyone who has seen the final episode of MASH. The musicians were Chinese, however, not Korean. There is an incredibly powerful scene when Charles is unable to save on of the musicians after he was injured in an artillery attack. He goes back to the tent and with his bloody hands he smashes the record against the grammophone.
I have to play this for NYSMA as a solo. I'm still in middle school. Seems legit? I'm going to die
