You can make a world of difference by spying and torturing innocent civilians that have been marked as "terrorists" because they don't agree with government.
thats because Adult Swim is Mind Control orchestrated by the CIA. its designed to dumb down the nation and retard their minds into having random nonsensical absurd thought processes.

answer me this. would it make more sense to do whatever is necessary to get the job done? or be humane and not get the job done? you cant have both. i dont see why you care that an enemy is getting tortured when they would sure as hell cut your head off on television if given the chance.
Actually yes, one can have both. Besides the hypocrisy of not abiding to one's own ethics (that is, freedom), the consequences of miscarried torture are infinitely greater than that of interrogation, when it happens (and it does). Besides, most enemy combatants didn't ask for a war, either. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them turned out to have been coerced into fighting. Getting tortured to insanity and/or death, solely for being in the wrong place at the wrong time...
@23usmc23 the fact that you don't see why both makes me sad and sick at the same time. I would answer because I am American who has stood against the practice of torture when countless other nations have stood behind the claim that the people they tortured and/or executed intended to do harm to them. When did our country forget what it means to be American. We are supposed to be a symbol of hope and freedom to people being persecuted.

you wont even be considered for appointment as any type of field officer unless you have extensive prior special forces training in any of the military branches. even then, you have to excel beyond all the special forces members. the only way you can say your pretty sure youl get the job is if your a long time spec. ops. officer. Delta Force is like the cream of the crop, so if you make it there, you should make in the CIA. ODA teams are a good bet too. Also SEAL's and Force Recon. AF JTAC or

Watch the movie "The Good Shepherd" thats a more acurate representation of the CIA. Its more political than anything else. The only exemption to the civilian rule is that unless your very well connected, as in senators and vice presidents, you wont get a job as a field operations officer. At the best, a civilian will get a job as an analyst.
Wow, ChiWehWeh. I was not aware that you were a recruiter for the Central Intelligence Agency. We would LOVE for you to come to our school and share your extensive knowledge in the field of intelligence. We have some very bright people here from whom you most certainly will benefit. How may we contact you?
if your lucky, youl get to work in the situation rooms or control rooms where certain special operations are conducted, planned, commanded, and overseen. but like i said before, unless your like fluent in russian, spanish, and a number of arabic dialects combined, and have outstanding test scores, and if you just happen to join the military and join special forces, you wont be selected for those field operations officer positions.
ok, first off, how do you know all this? and second, you mean to tell me if i have a bachelors degree that still isnt good enough? the CIA trains you as an operative for 2 whole years! if you already have previous military training, it still doesnt mean ur good enough to be an op, they will still put you in a program like The Farm, and train you until ur good enough!
lol The Farm? let me tell you. the chances that something like "the farm" is actually real are real low. no doubt im sure they have some form of extensive training. but i assure you whatever it is, we dont know about it. what makes you think that something of that great military and intelligence value would be publicly known? its like saying we know what goes on or went on in Area 51! as to your question, it depends what your bachelors degree is in. i doubt it though. your gonna need more.
Are you a Fox(R), CNN(R) and Reuters(R) News fan? Are you ready to spy on your fellow American fans? Are your ready to boost the New World Order(R)'s World domination plan?

"I never would have agreed to the formulation of the CIA back in 1947 if I had known it would become the American Gestapo." -- Harry S. Truman (1961)
The issue with the CIA is primarily a structural one. The same group responsible for acquiring information is also responsible for acting on it, and the only person they answer to is the President.
"The issue with the CIA is primarily a structural one. The same group responsible for acquiring information is also responsible for acting on it, and the only person they answer to is the"
President.how else is it suppose to work? There are divisions within the CIA. Wouldn't asking a separate "group" to act on the intelligence gathered compromise efficiency of operation? And if two groups act so closely together that they might as well act as one group then they practically are one group.
I don't disagree. But the major issue that people have been bringing up since the establishment of the CIA is that it could become something of a gestapo for the President. Also keep in mind that the CIA is largely autonomous, so there's actually some debate over who is really in control there. Essentially I'm saying the group needs better oversight to be run responsibly and more effectively.
the discretion of the President. Things happen too fast today. We just dont have the time to wait for Congress to assemble and vote whether we should attack the highly mobile terrorist cell. By the time Congress is calles, itl have been too late. Based on this, the CIA needs more flexibility and freedom in order to operate. The world wont stand still just so they can get clearance to do things.
And what happens when they decide not to talk to the President? What happens when the autonomy of the CIA becomes a threat to executive power? What happens when they feel that autonomy is threatened? I happen to notice you like to read a lot. Consider "Deep Politics and the Death of JFK" by Peter Dale Scott. It's a fairly solid description of the problem I'm discussing. If you grant the CIA a tremendous amount of freedom, you're bound to see them commit some high crimes.
Oh sure! il look that book up! i always like a good read and that sounds like a splendid recommendation. il make sure to remeber to read it. now, as to your question, such things have already happend. if you watch the movie "The Good Shepherd" it gives a good accurate representation of what the CIA does and how it operates. What i was saying is simply this, that if the CIA is to have ANY oversight, such oversight should be from the President and his top members of the cabinet. I didnt say it
should have full and complete control of itself. The head of the agency shouldnt be making major decision all on his own. The way it should be structured is that the President gives the Director an outline. Gives him goals and objectives and expectations from the agency. Lists what things are off limits and what things are not. If for any reason the CIA must be involved in things that are off limits as dictated by the President, then at that time should the President be contacted for clearance.
I am against CIA abuses, whether it is drug running, illicit wiretapping, coup plots, genocidal government funding in the 3rd world, wherever some wierd thing is happening you can be sure the CIA is pulling the strings.
well all those "abuses" are necessary. in a world where people disregard rules and correct forms of conduct, we have to do the same. Fight fire with fire. It does no good to try to set an example, when you have the enemy sneaking up behind you to stab you in the back. The correct action is the one the enemy is taking. Fight dirty. Just like them.
haha well while you may wish for such an occurance to take place i can assure you the chances of such an event are really rather slim. now, i do not know why simply stating my opinion as a contrapositive to your statement warrants such aggresive and combative language. if you did not wish to hear my opinion, witch i assure you are based around facts, then perhaps you should have refrained from stating yours. clearly, you statement was just as inflamatory as mine, and even then both were rather
bland and dull. so, if you continue to wish me abused by the police for no reason except amusement of the police, i wont really care. just know however, that if you happen to disagree with something that was said in contest to a statement of your own, you should debate it intelligently. not simply make stupid remarks about one being beaten. if for whatever reason that is just too hard for you to comprehend, maybe you should just shut the fuck up the next time. :) simple friendly banter :)
Well, a lot of bombshells have come out. When you consider the Pentagon papers and the overt CIA wiretaps Nixon did and even worst is the MK Ultra Project, aka "Let's test LSD on hippies>regular citizens>politicians>fellow CIA operatives."
These are obvious crimes people committed by the government that should lead to the EXECUTION of many "People protecting the country."
But you know. No one above a certain rank ever in politics ever gets arrested. It's like they have a license to kill.
And why has the U.S to be defended?? Yes who is always interfering in others internal affairs??? The Iraks etc. hates the Us-gov. since they have been attacked and BEFORE??????
It is so sad that you sit and judge an organization like this from your computer. really you are fed shit through a tube by the media about the cia. There are alot of hardworking people at the cia who care about the U.S. and who risk there lives while you sit there and judge them. If you have such a problem then stop acting like you are informed, and get a job there since you know whats best for the country.
I'm sure most people enter the CIA wanting to help people and keep the nation safe, but when an organization is as opaque and as secretive as the CIA, naturally abuse/evil occurs. You don't have to look hard to find scandals like
The illegal overthrowing of democratically elected governments in South America, Pacific Asia, etc and supporting Stalin like dictators because they supported the US.
The Watergate break in by CIA agents on Nixon's orders.
I just think it is disgusting for people to criticize the organization as a whole. There have been some real idiot directors, Hoover for example, with his Nazi accusations. You might also come to realize that laws generally do not apply to the U.S government.
Was Bush SR. a good CIA director, my apologies Im not a U.S> citizen I wasnt there in his residing time? He passed some good traits on to his soon though didnt he!
Let me clarify: George Bush (jr.) is undoubtedly one of the worst presidents in U.S. history. Bush jr. is exponentially worse than his father, but that is still not saying too much for sr.
... And your evidence that CIA runs drugs, assassinates and runs 'terrorist' organizations is where? Or are u assuming? Or are u yet again thinking of declassified incidents? Remember, its the 'in' thing to do nowadays, to hate the United States. And who said anything about me having those kinds of misdeeds? Apparently u are one of the brainless anti-American fucks that I will always rail against.
Thank you so much for not being a dumb ass like 80% of the people on this page. Its hard to believe that people think not have an intelligence agency is a good idea.
Whats funny is that the general public keeps referring back to declassified incidents back from the 1950s 60s and 70s. That means all of u with checkered histories can keep having your sins and misdeeds thrown back at u for life, even if uve managed to turn yourself around for the better.
People keep referring to their past because it is their future. They keep doing the same crap. If Charles Manson was walking the streets, I guarantee you people would be looking at his past and see that he is still doing the same crap. The CIA will always do evil crap. They run drugs, they assassinate people, they run terrorist organizations, they torture people and so on. Is that the kind of misdeeds and sins you have?
patjc15 - For me it is to rethink the CIA's future, not dwell on the history. The Agency has gone from misguided to misguided. All in the span of 12 years. Let's hope our buddies in McLean can control they're appetite for world domination. Lord knows the like's of PNAC and others will continue to use them as tools for greed. Maybe just biz as usual.
PNAC was planned prior to 911. It all tied into the CARLYLE groups profits, and the creation of Halliburton. Supposedly Rumsey was behind PNAC.... So in essence CIA is always in the forefront! DRUGS< WEAPONS< WAR, COUPS,,, = CIA... aka runs AMERICA
Hahahahaha ... they say they want employees with "integrity"? From the CIA covert operations dept.'s history, I would've thought an applicant's having integrity would be sort of a deal-breaker.
Actually makes sense. They didn't say "moral" or "ethical" integrity. Just integrity. Per Wiki "One is said to have integrity to the extent that everything he does and believes is based on the same core set of values."
it's a shame the agency is only criticized for mishaps and are never praised for the good, hard, and very dangerous work the agents of the NCS perform daily/nightly (can't leave out all other members of the agency too). i think it's interesting how we praise, applaud, and commend our soldiers in the armed forces for doing what they do, but shoot down the agency every chance we get...too bad.
I urge you to join if you like helping to topple democratically elected governments "chile" and also like dunking people's heads in water to make them think they're drowning.
Tree huggers with conspiracy theories... I am so thankful u dont have public service jobs, America doesnt need more stupid, uninformed, anti-American individuals serving. Stick to your meaningless private sector jobs, working for the Man to increase his profit margins and fucking u over, then go home and watch mindless TV.
conspiracy theory??? much of the documentation about the evil things the CIA does are completely declassified. Operation Condor, Iran-Contra, Jacobo Arbenz, Mossadegh, etc. Look it up you ignorant ass.
True. The CIA does things that I disagree with sometimes, and I hate that they go that route, but it's NOTHING compared to what these other people would do to us,--even if we don't hold crucial information.
OMG!! most of you people are pist off with the CIA...
But let me tell you... the CIA its only paper work, research, investigations, and blah blah blah... it's not like movies... the killing of inocents, the missions around the globe... face it... the CIA, its a civilian agency which gather intelligence, and works for it... of course you are trained to lie to others, but information its critical.
Well, some branches of the CIA have tortured some people.
But spies only SPY. That's exactly where you're right in what you say. That's a big difference between what the movies show and real life. Spies steal information and run like hell!
come join the cia. and then we will blow your cover and leave you to the wolves when it suits us. Remember Valerie Plame. - Bush admin. CIA recruiting ad
integrity.....The CIA teaches classes on 'LYING'...integrity....People in the CIA traffic in illegal drugs....Ha Ha...I mock the CIA Come see me when you people decide to have some REAL integrity and patriotism. Psssshaw!
I live and was born in Europe but I don't really like it here, I identify a lot more with american values, that's why I'm thinking in applying for US citizenship as soon as I can
I am not a big fan of the CIA, but you're not forced to stay in their until they say you can leave. You're free to quit whenever you want. Most people think that the CIA is like that "Jason Bourne" stuff, but really that's only a very small fraction of it. Most of it usually just office work or research.
Why are you telling people not to join. Look, the goverment may do things that we the people may not like but without the goverment we would be speaking german and eating with chopsticks. Without the goverment, we would be just like the 3rd world countries that we are invading right now.
Oh and isn't the rest of the world greatful for you invading innocent countries?
The truth is that Prescott Bush helped financing Hitler... just like the Bush family had strong business relations with Bin Laden... you don't need to worry about speaking German or Arabic since the brains behind it all are your fellow English speaking citizens.
"A WORLD OF AMBIGUITY". Join the CIA, we won't tell you what to do, we just tell you what may need to happen for you to get your paycheck. By the way, about that paycheck, we neither confirm nor deny that it will get directly deposited to your bank account that you may or may not have opened at an undisclosed local bank.
Do you want to help kill innocent people? Do you want to be seen as a murderer by the whole world? Do you want to be a criminal? CIA is a terroristic organisation! CIA kills more people than the Al Qaeda! Innocent people! Would you like to be kidnapped by the CIA just because you have a beard? No!
Don't help the CIA! Don't help the Bush administration! That's not patriotical, it's a shame to the USA!
Actually, willonutoob, the CIA did its job. The Bush Admin. didn't like the facts and created its own intelligence by convincing the CIA's Director to make blind "slam dunk" statements that he knew wasn't supported in his own reports. It also led to Rummy creating his own intelligence agency inside the DOD. True!
You can make a world of difference by spying and torturing innocent civilians that have been marked as "terrorists" because they don't agree with government.

Wow, ChiWehWeh. I was not aware that you were a recruiter for the Central Intelligence Agency. We would LOVE for you to come to our school and share your extensive knowledge in the field of intelligence. We have some very bright people here from whom you most certainly will benefit. How may we contact you?
peacewillhappen 2 years ago
if your lucky, youl get to work in the situation rooms or control rooms where certain special operations are conducted, planned, commanded, and overseen. but like i said before, unless your like fluent in russian, spanish, and a number of arabic dialects combined, and have outstanding test scores, and if you just happen to join the military and join special forces, you wont be selected for those field operations officer positions.
ChiWehWeh 2 years ago
ok, first off, how do you know all this? and second, you mean to tell me if i have a bachelors degree that still isnt good enough? the CIA trains you as an operative for 2 whole years! if you already have previous military training, it still doesnt mean ur good enough to be an op, they will still put you in a program like The Farm, and train you until ur good enough!
orduni90 2 years ago
lol The Farm? let me tell you. the chances that something like "the farm" is actually real are real low. no doubt im sure they have some form of extensive training. but i assure you whatever it is, we dont know about it. what makes you think that something of that great military and intelligence value would be publicly known? its like saying we know what goes on or went on in Area 51! as to your question, it depends what your bachelors degree is in. i doubt it though. your gonna need more.

And if two groups act so closely together that they might as well act as one group then they practically are one group.
gariadara 3 years ago
I don't disagree. But the major issue that people have been bringing up since the establishment of the CIA is that it could become something of a gestapo for the President. Also keep in mind that the CIA is largely autonomous, so there's actually some debate over who is really in control there. Essentially I'm saying the group needs better oversight to be run responsibly and more effectively.
smiledammit24 3 years ago
the discretion of the President.
ChiWehWeh 2 years ago
And what happens when they decide not to talk to the President? What happens when the autonomy of the CIA becomes a threat to executive power? What happens when they feel that autonomy is threatened? I happen to notice you like to read a lot. Consider "Deep Politics and the Death of JFK" by Peter Dale Scott. It's a fairly solid description of the problem I'm discussing. If you grant the CIA a tremendous amount of freedom, you're bound to see them commit some high crimes.
smiledammit24 2 years ago
Oh sure! il look that book up! i always like a good read and that sounds like a splendid recommendation. il make sure to remeber to read it. now, as to your question, such things have already happend. if you watch the movie "The Good Shepherd" it gives a good accurate representation of what the CIA does and how it operates. What i was saying is simply this, that if the CIA is to have ANY oversight, such oversight should be from the President and his top members of the cabinet. I didnt say it
ChiWehWeh 2 years ago
should have full and complete control of itself. The head of the agency shouldnt be making major decision all on his own. The way it should be structured is that the President gives the Director an outline. Gives him goals and objectives and expectations from the agency. Lists what things are off limits and what things are not. If for any reason the CIA must be involved in things that are off limits as dictated by the President, then at that time should the President be contacted for clearance.

well all those "abuses" are necessary. in a world where people disregard rules and correct forms of conduct, we have to do the same. Fight fire with fire. It does no good to try to set an example, when you have the enemy sneaking up behind you to stab you in the back. The correct action is the one the enemy is taking. Fight dirty. Just like them.

MHTSpades 3 years ago
I'm sure most people enter the CIA wanting to help people and keep the nation safe, but when an organization is as opaque and as secretive as the CIA, naturally abuse/evil occurs. You don't have to look hard to find scandals like
The illegal overthrowing of democratically elected governments in South America, Pacific Asia, etc and supporting Stalin like dictators because they supported the US.
The Watergate break in by CIA agents on Nixon's orders.
And the incessant tortures/public spying.
Terrakinetic 3 years ago 2
I just think it is disgusting for people to criticize the organization as a whole. There have been some real idiot directors, Hoover for example, with his Nazi accusations. You might also come to realize that laws generally do not apply to the U.S government.

Whats funny is that the general public keeps referring back to declassified incidents back from the 1950s 60s and 70s. That means all of u with checkered histories can keep having your sins and misdeeds thrown back at u for life, even if uve managed to turn yourself around for the better.
patjc15 3 years ago

CascaMMA 3 years ago
PNAC was planned prior to 911. It all tied into the CARLYLE groups profits, and the creation of Halliburton. Supposedly Rumsey was behind PNAC.... So in essence CIA is always in the forefront! DRUGS< WEAPONS< WAR, COUPS,,, = CIA... aka runs AMERICA

it's a shame the agency is only criticized for mishaps and are never praised for the good, hard, and very dangerous work the agents of the NCS perform daily/nightly (can't leave out all other members of the agency too). i think it's interesting how we praise, applaud, and commend our soldiers in the armed forces for doing what they do, but shoot down the agency every chance we get...too bad.

pavlopwnsyourface 3 years ago 3
it works this way i think.
if your enemies fight hard, then you need to fight harder.
in America there is a rule of law meaning that you hear about these things.
things get declassified and get viewed and commented upon.
do you hear about what Americas enemies have done or will do?
do you hear their ugly secrets?
Nop,i dont think so.
this is the difference.
