lol......i've had danes all my life (i'm 37) and thats the way they sit!! its not hip "displeasure" ( by which i think you meant displacement) at all....its a "dane" thing...totally normal

or perhaps hip dysplasia, which one of mine had, and couldn't sit at all. Great danes usually prefer to back up and sit on your lap ... just don't try to get up in a hurry!
