I was four years old when she passed away and I still remember when they showed her death on the news. They showed the clip of her at the Houston Astrodome in the iconic purple outfit riding on the carriage and I remember thinking she looked like a princess.

she was hit in a main artery - so because she was so scared - her heart began to beat faster and faster - pumping more and more blood which exited through the puncture wound. This scared, she was forced to run apx half a yard from the room, outside, and across the court yard to the office - running caused her heart to pump even harder- causing blood to literally shoot from the bullet hole. Even today nothing would change. she was practically dead upon arrival of paramedics.

No, she had simply lost too much blood. There is very little to be done at that point. If the body suffers enough, it just doesn't survive.

@tutuvo07 No, the only thing that is medically advanced now are treatment for diseases not for injuries caused by bullets. A severed artery can kill you just as fast today. Basically all your blood in your body will come out of the severed artery and unless you get help within 4 or 5 minutes, you will die.
