  • What a wonderful time it must have been, when space was still a mystery, and people still had faith in science and technology and were optimistic about the future.

  • @Vebinz Space still is and always will be a mystery, we still haven't put a man on Mars yet. As for faith in science and technology I'm not so sure, but there was an optimistic attitude in the decades after the war that the best way to deal with problems is to find a solution to them, not to navel gaze, wallow in self pity, accept an undeserved guilt, or subscribe to the cult of victimhood. As one talk show host said "Ignorance is our most expensive commodity". We live in a very nihilistic age.
