Not that I care where Lin is from but the last time I check he was born and raised in the USA. Technically wouldn’t that make him an American of Taiwanese/Chinese descent. You don’t hear Americans of European descent referring back their European countries as theirs so why should be any different in Lins case.
Hes not Taiwanese even, lol. His parents are from China, and moved to Taiwan, then moved to America before he was born. Just because his parents moved from Taiwan to the US =/= Taiwanese
@roltzje wrong, his parents are from taiwan, ancestral grave in china just like great numbers of Taiwanese. Biologically Taiwanese, Culturally American. He understands Mandarin fluently (Audio) and may engage in a full-on interview with mandarin speaking reporter. He is American, but if you really want to trace back what country he is from, its taiwan not china, he is from Taiwan just like every other ABT - American Born Taiwanese
Jeremy lin barely knows chinese >.> he's pretty much purely american, but with such an amazing education background + his family background of native chinese folk... its amazing how much work and effort he has put into the game. very glad the Rockets picked him up because they know how to treat asians right!
just like to say that Jeremy will never be as good in basketball as a black basketball player. I did not say he isn't good, but genetically speaking, come on. I'm asian btw
i think spurs is the best team for him. he is the typical type of player that coach pop likes, hard working n smart. n now george hill had been traded. thts only tony parker in point guard position, he should get minutes at san antonio.
Warriors are garbage, not hating on Lin. He's a beast player. Especially for an asian(aint hating, im Filipino) but the whole team overall, Garbage lol. They're getting better but they still need to step up their game. I dont want it to always be the heats, lakers, mavericks, and bulls to be the top. Cmon warriors step it up! SMH..
@Im18Years0ld It won't be. The Thunder are gonna be there, the Mavs are probably not going far in the playoffs anymore. The Knicks are also on the rise. If the Warriors get some defense, they'll have a chance. They have really good offense, which can prove to be effective. Look at the Suns with Amar'e and Nash, they got to the WCF. Lakers are also probably falling. The Grizzlies also proved this postseason that they can compete.
Fuck all this shit about his nationality. He's not Jeremy Lin the Chinese guy, or Jeremy Lin the Taiwanese guy. He's Jeremy Lin the NBA player!!!!!!!!
Don't say that Lin is a Taiwanse, If he was born and was a player in TW, he couldn't get the chance to join NBA, even couldn't go out of Asia. His gene is from Taiwan, but his skill and training are all from America. Good luck! Hope he one day can be a important member in NBA,
@chochofish24 that's why he would be Taiwanese-American lol. He had a whole press-conference when he went to play in Yao's charity game, a big sign that said "First Taiwanese-American" when he went to Taiwan.
He might get the same when he goes to China but instead it will say "First Chinese-American" lol. He's going to mainland China this summer.
@chochofish24 he is what he is,who is u to say what he is or not?btw,it doesn't matter if he can make it if he is not in us he did made it~
and fast facts 1. he did let the ROC basketball team put him on the list 2. an 6-4 PG is huge in taiwan 99.99% of people cant grow to that hight and also had the skills and power he has i m only like 5-11 and i m bigger than most of the PGs in our colleague league and street courts its easy to win when u got size
@chochofish24 You're another retard, no better than those guys fighting over Lin's nationality. BTW, Taiwan is a country, not chromosomes. Genes don't come from countries, they come from people.
@Filipinos4Islanders Quit trolling thats all you do . every vid of lin you have to say something negative. IS your life really that sad? Go outside and smell the flowers.
@xDaRkIcEx4 freedom of speech. and jeremy lin isn't that good of a player and that's a fact. i love jeremy as a person, but as a player, he needs to polish his skills and THAT's A FACT. And don't come up with bullcraps like "oh let's see you try in the NBA". Come on, that's so immature. Im just saying he needs to improve so he can play better than his peers in the NBA.
@elsenorify Theres a distinction between freedom of speech and just hating, and filipinos4islanders just hates. I know Jlin needs to improve his game and such but i'm just pointing out the fact that filipinos4islanders hates and uses rascist remarks. I never said anything about Jlin being the next CP3 or Derrick Rose.
@gamevirus01 Go to any one of those asian countries and I guarantee you will get schooled on the court. You probably don't play much basketball do you? oh yeah and LMAO. Fuckin idiot.
@TaiwaneseNOTChinese Nothing better to do than troll every Lin video? You clearly have nothing more important to do with your time. (and this is coming from someone whose parents are from Taiwan)
