I am a Catalan Independentist and of course i support any country that became independent from Spain, but, what is wrong with Spain? i think that USA was very worst with you than Spain, plus you all have spanish names o.O
Respond to this video... the first people are malays NOT CHINESE! CHinks are WEak Ass YELLOW MONKEYS with tiny eyes hahaha... punkAss!!! CHINA ALLOWED ITSELF 2 GET ADDICTED 2 OPIUM & IT'S YELLOW CONCUBINES RAPED BY FOREIGNERS! even before the Philippines was invaded... atleast we finally kicked the spanish bastards out of our country! your chinks are still economic slaves & whore's in Hutongs! FUCK YOU!
Damn my self for not having audio on my loptop, I may be concern on Philippine Mythology ang gods and goddesses but hell I want to learn more about this... When the sun rises I shall go to the nearest comp shop and listen to it from top to bottom.
It's an interesting pre-Spanish history. The enunciation of speaker is too labored and should have done more research on the pronunciation of many foreign terms.
@falerea Ok unlike every other vid on youtube, you won't(at least, hopefully won't, I have no control of other comments here so yeah...) be endlessly trolled, just remember that you will be brutally challenged, and this won't be fair until you listen to the entirety of this vid. I want you to reply to everything I say, by a numbered list, failure to do so means you can't answer it.
1.There was no filipino identity because we were different nations back then, that is obvious enough, even today
3. If Philippines had so many contacts with Asia, why those Asian only left scattered sets of pottery? 4. The red muslim map is fully wrong. 5. The muslim South was never hispanized because Spaniards found a real organized state and they didnt have the capability of conquer it, given the scarcity of soldiers.
@falerea (continued) 2.If that is true, why do several of our civilization pop up on asian records like in Japanese, thailand, malaysia, brunei, rest of south east asia, and especially in China's Ming Shi Lu? Furthermore, this specific kingdom pops up in spanish and portuguese records too, even my spanish friends mention of fortresses that had cannons, it's no wonder why, they came from China, explain that.
@ThtOnePinoy Please, tell me those Asian records. I will be very happy to consult those. I have consulted almost all Spanish sources available, and no one documents the existence of that kingdom. They are refering to Ryukyu Islands, I think. If a volcano destroyed that civilization, I think the civilization was quite small, or they just lived around the volcano? Which volcano? Are there any archeological rest conserved as in Pompeya?
@falerea Wait a second, first of all answer ALL my questions... Don't make me waste my time typing all this if you're not even going to bother asking, and as well it looks bad on you that you cannot answer simple questions. First of all, how are they referring to the ryukyuan islands if they've used the term "luzon" or in portuguese (Luções) several times? Please stay on topic, you might be referring to something else that is totally irrelevant.
@falerea 3. The pottery enough should give evidence of it's existence, but if you had watched this vid, you would understand this specific kingdom was destroyed by natural disasters(volcano), but other pre-hispanic civilizations remain, such as Sulu, and even Maynila and parts of other civlizations that now form part of Pampanga province and several neighboring provinces, explain that.
@ThtOnePinoy The Spaniards used to exagerate the power of their enemies in their chronicles and accounts in order to paint themselves as heroes. If such a kingdom existed, they would have done so. I understand the desire of imagining a industrious civilization before the arrival of the muslims and the spaniards, but it never existed such a thing. Zialcita and another american anthropologists have explained very well how was the life of the inhabitats of archipelago before the arrival of invader
@falerea Walter Henry Scott does not say a single word about such a kingdom, nor any historian. The article in wikipedia about the Kingdom of Tondo is a great example of fiction. Inventing a great past in order to justify the bad present situation thru the colonial powers. Rizal did something like that while commenting on 8th Chapter of Morga's Sucesos, or Pardo de Tavera when editing Costumbres de los Yndios tagalos, but they did not go that far to invent the existence of a kingdom.
@falerea history is written by the victors, not all of it will be accurate, but that is too big of a lie, if they did this mentioning the ancient Kapampangans, then they would've overexaggerated much more about Lapu Lapu, infact they would've exaggerated him as having a kingdom too, you have a huge hole in your logic...
As for walter henry scott and american researchers, fyi they aren't the only experts in the world about this.
@falerea They aren't going to find out every single detail of the Philippines, despite the fact he made great findings, we aren't in his time, things were barely being discovered, and things are still barely being discovered today. As for the article on wikipedia, it's a load of horse shit, it's very inaccurate, the article mentioned in this vid did not come from wikipedia at all, furthermore no one ever brought up that damned wikipedia page.
@falerea and instead of asking me for all these records, why not you do the traveling yourself? This article was based on findings on oriental records, instead of having to rely on occidental records, you can even email the researcher who wrote it, Mike Pangilinan or Siuala.
And I also have another question, if this such thing never existed, then where did the name "luzon" come from? And who was Lakan Dula and his predecessors? They existed, theres nothing false about that.
@falerea One last thing, what you should know is the Laguna copperplate makes mention of this civilization, long before the Spanish even realize our archipelago's existence... And the Ming shi lu, I can send a link to you but this link has recently broke unfortunately... you should try to find a cached version of it on google, its a website that has access to the Ming Shi Lu(veritable Ming records), it makes many mention of such civilization.
@ThtOnePinoy For anything related with the Laguna Copperplate, just read Anton Poostma, who was the one that deciphered it. He never suggested the existence of something like that. The only knigdom by that time was located in what today is Indonesia or continental Asia. You can also read ultranationalist anthropologist Landa Jocano: he will be very happy of accepting the existencia of such a thing, but fortunately, he is a serious historian, and in his book about Fiipino Pre-Hispanic history.
@ThtOnePinoy If you are so sure about that, just write a scholar research / article with footnotes mentioning sources. If proved true, you are gonna make a lot of many giving conferences around the world with your amazing discovery. Good luck!!
@falerea Hehe we will see, but mind you I just have a wide interest and history in general just happens to be something that is not hard for me, I leave it up to the actual experts, like Mike Pangilinan, as he's actually done the traveling I assume to find these things.
I have been listening until 14th minut: too many bullshits and an horrible distorted voice. Some comments, though: 1. There was no filipino identity before the Spaniards conquered. 2. Philippines started belonging to Asia politically and culturally only recently. Their deep culture is Austronesian, but you need to know something about Austronesian culture in order to realize it.
There was NO Philippines before the Spaniards came. Tsk tsk. I'm very saddened by the comments I can see here. Leyenda Negra is still very much alive today. Indeed Filipinos have always been heavily BRAINSWASHED by the Americans. It's 2011 guys, why do we hate Spain so much? The Japanese, the Americans did WORSE things to us and now we are under a great IDENTITY CRISIS 'coz of this hatred towards Spain. Don't you know that hating Spain is like hating YOURSELVES for it's the biggest part of us?
I hate the spanish some of my people are just confused who they are we're asian we're not some taco eaters we should live the way we always have before the spanish came to our land, I mean we have lived as we always have been even when the spanish came but of course they weren't just there to colonize they were there to steal our gold and erase our past.
@XBoxLiveissoboring I share what you feel too, but remember we cannot blame the modern Spanish for what their ancestors did... We cannot do that as they didn't do anything, the Spanish empire however is a different story, they are the ones you should be mad at.
Even then, the state of how our country is running is a joke, we must do everything we can to improve and rebuild...
It's very true, especially for us Kapampangans who don't know about our ancient Kingdom... Even worse, we are losing our language, Mike Pangilinan, the same author of this article that was read, says, and he has strong points and isn't the only one worried. I showed you that other article about that too right?
@technical010 Haha, it's funny how you bring up the Japanese when I was on my way to show you that interesting thing their empire did with promoting baybayin into our official documents in the 1943 republic, unfortunately I cannot post links here :(
@akosigundam Oh and fyi, just because the Japanese are pretty much just one nation and under one common language it doesn't mean we cannot improve like they are, it doesn't mean we cannot have such living standards as they do, it doesn't mean we cannot have a better govt., it's not due to the fact your country is made up of many different people, it's the fact of the very poor choice of the few, and who influenced the masses, and now the masses are being controlled right under their noses
@technical010 -- you're stupid! Chinese went to Philippines to trade tho they think they are part of Philippine society, they ARE NOT PART of the Philippines... as what Present China is doing right now by Illegally Encroaching on our Maritime Territories & Islands! FUCK CHINA! Japan Invaded Philippines Not Promoted Culture, USA Invaded Philippines from a fake AM-spanish war which they paid spain 20,000,000 per head as that is the present population of the country.! Korea is a Slut of Mongolia!
@technical010 -- how can you preserved a Culture when you Invade another Culture??? don't be stupid & pretend to save face for the Slant-eyed JAPS, Koreans & Chinks! FUCK CHINA!!!
Very thorough, and Spanish influence although lasting until today is a recent phenomenon according to your documentary. The Spanish were able to manipulate an already ongoing conflict and capitalized on it, so their contributions besides religion seems minimal. I guess in another narration you may include El Catálogo alfabético de apellidos, this is how many Philippinos ended up with Spanish Surnames.

I strongly believe that even if a man managed to be on TOP.. He is not successful
when he does not recognize his origins.. his history.. because he is merely deluded to the thought
that he did it all by himself.. therefore in the imminence of downfall it will be a great fall..

Japan is a great country with law abiding and patriotic people.. because they are motivated to do so
as they know who they really are.. what they are.. and by that they know how to respect themselves
Same thing with countries like Korea. China.. including the USA..
PRESERVED culture.. and promoted culture..
Many Luzonians didn't realize that people in Luzon are actually Malay-Chinese
as many still idiot Filipinos think Chinese are not part of Philippine society

Philippines is practically.. a Malay-Indon-China.. with heavy Spanish influence..
Its either Malays came from us or we came from them.. burely Chinese people came from China
to Philippines.. as it is evident in all Philippines.. if you will try to look about every 10 people
4 people out of 10 people in Philippines have CHINESE origin..
