Which cost more, hiring models and a traditional crew for a traditional luxury TV commercial, or getting stopmotion artists and THEIR crew, and a bunch of different actors and going on-location to many different spots, to make the hipster Youtube one?

  • @faceman , Olympus is the lifestyle one. Are you an educated, hip, white-ish middle-aged person? We've got the camera for you. Are you a nouveau-riche just looking for another gadget to bling? Well, here's one. Guess which demographic this ad targets!

  • that's what i call a 'nothing ad' i'm left thinking nothing about the brand or product, get rid of the idiot bird and tell us something interesting about what looks like a bloody ground breaking camera, in a new and interesting way. Good one Olym-puss

  • @ faceman501, I think its left up to us to decide what the brand means to us. Why depend on a company to tell you why and how you should identify with their products? The ad does seem like the regular fine girl + product sales pitch, but I see it like you + your pen. The rest is up to you Photography is all about creativity after all, right?! Cant wait to get my hands on the Pen!!!

  • and it's a damn pitty if you ask me cus, well, I'm an Olympus user and the truth is that i jumped into the boat because of the price (the 420). But Olympus can't just be about that, and when you do that classic marketing question, what's nikon, it's professional, what's canon, it's the big one, what are you left with on olympus? the cheap one? the friendly DSLR's? and i'm not talking about they're quality, i talk exclusively about their branding. beats me.
