My man,this has nothing to do with Peres Prado or The Riverside or Arcano,this is Palladium (New York City)Mambo jazz! It is time,for los exiliado,to accept that this music was created here,USA! Show me any cuban band in the late fourtys or early fifty that played this kind of music. Machito used to sing with Noro Morales(Boricua)some of Mchito's (musicos)were Puertorriquenos:Julio Andino,Tito Puente,Paquito Davila,Jose Mangual,ect..the rest were "black americans"!

One of these video posters posted that Machicto was born in Florida, raised in Cuba. Later came to NYC. Served in the U.S. Army. So, U.S. citizen but full of Cuban music & culture. What a great band he had! Five saxes! Try to find that today in a latin band!
