@dutchydd No, its not, Its actually Legend of the Fist - The Return of Chen Zhen but looking at all the "like"s, it doesnt look like anyone gives a fuck
He looks nothing like the real Bruce Lee but man he can play the part damn well. Everything about this is so close to a real Bruce Lee movie fightscene! I love it!
Wrong, if you are fighting people that have a pattern you recognize you can still win. When you have alot martial arts training it is like fighting children at times.Of course luck plays a part but skill is most important. And yes you will get hit a bunch very messy business.
@ThaCVirus ip man is just as correct. there is no correct way to translate chinese into western alphabet. actually ip man is how his name was in his passport so that is the more official way for his name. but if we're actually talking about pronouncing and not the spelling then u have a point since how actual chinese pronounce his name indeed is not alike american would pronounce ip, perhaps it's closer to yip, yet even that will not do it.u'd have to speak chinese to ever say his name correctly
@MrPainfulTruth I'm glad u knew I was joking, even Bruce knew he couldn't straight up beat 10-20 men easily.
And u're right u would have to be clueless or drunk for getting beat up.
There's too many guys and one supersedes the other, u know how many styles and hatred comin at u and u blocking every shot, and no one tries to take u out from behind?
@blaqmarc well yes every martial artist knows this problem. u can win 10 guys if they're playing it fair, if honor is involved and they all come at u more or less one at a time. if ur skill is much better than theirs ur chances of winning each and every one of them increases proportionally. these situations of multiple enemies in actual life (perhaps 2-3 opponents) comes down to toughness and taking control of the situation. u need some seriously good footwork and power behind for instant ko's
I SAID THE SAME THING I'M LAUGHING NOW, I mean cmon u're gonna play a Bruce character and beat 40-80 men. Even Bruce knew that was impossible they would ambush him down and hold him then have their way with him. He could beat up 10-20 men changing his strategy cause theres a lesser amount of men but...a school of 80 men plus weapons!?!
@blaqmarc LOL you are a clown. He could beat up 10-20 men? I can beat up 10-20 men with my Glock, but certainly no martial artist could beat more than two or three unless they are clueless or drunk.
@blaqmarc How do you think legends are made? In the cinema and in life? By beating 2 or 3 guys at the same time? I think not. Great Movie and Yes Donnie Yen is the man to beat! :)
i am amazed nobody has commented on this scene, too unrealistic and phony. bruce lee would had just laughed at this martial arts movie. whats this film?
There's no denying his skills as a martial artist, but Bruce Lee could not have and would not have been able to, were he still alive, surpass Ip Man in the direction he was heading. His style of fighting was not Wing Chun.
After awhile it wasn't Wing Chun he was using anymore because of all the influences he incorporated into his Jeet Kun Do. I love Bruce Lee and all but having watched some of his biographies I realize his personality wouldn't have allowed him to truely understand even the first and most basic part of Wing Chun training, him being too proud and impatient.
There's no arguing that Bruce Lee was an amazing individual for being a great martial artist and bringing the world of Chinese martial arts to the big screen. However, he was first trained in Hung Gar prior to being introduced to Wing Chun I believe. It wouldn't be correct to say Bruce Lee surpassed his master since he strayed from Wing Chun to studying a wide mixture of martial arts from all over.
Watching this only solidifies the Light years ahead Bruce Lee was. Just watch any action scene in Enter the Dragon, and you will know what I mean, especially the mirrior room scene. Bruce Lee, went further in his training than Yip Man ever dreamed of. All due respect to Master Yip Man, but the student did surpass his Master.
@TheShufflaZ That's a good question. I am not so sure. It is just a personal opinion and I stand by it. Needless to say lots have been written of Bruce Lee. Do some research, especially interviews by the people that actually knew him, his amazing physical powers are mentioned so many times, you either have to accepted as myth or truth....
@Funky1156 You are correct on many points. I do want to mention that dedicating yourself to an art or one is considered a Master, does not mean you are invincible in combat. I also want to point out that there were at least two Wing Chun stlylist that competed in MMA and got choked out. What does this mean, well, that's up to you to form an opinion. I trained in Wing Chun, Loved it, I also trained in Boxing, I found Boxing to be more practical for combat. That's just my personal opinion.
Movies now have to get away from bullshit fight scenes. It was ok in the past.Fighting has evolved some much since the early days.It comes down to each individual and not any particular style.Bruce lee himself realized that. You still get Win Chun people getting a high from Bruce Lee.He was an individual person with out standing talent.
@CrusaderKarl Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen is a 2010 Hong Kong martial arts film directed by Andrew Lau. The film is a continuation of the 1994 film Fist of Legend starring Jet Li, with Donnie Yen as Chen Zhen, a role made famous by Bruce Lee in the 1972 film Fist of Fury.
Donnie Yen has received a concussion and has infused his identity with both Bruce Lee and Jet Li, possibly even Jackie Chan in some type of Gung Fu broken record :( sad when the talented have fallen.
Ok, after some google searching I´ve come up with the answer. The movie is called "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen", where Donnie Yen reprises his role as Chen Zhen, a role originally played by Bruce Lee and then again by Donnie Yen in a television series from 1995. Thumbs up on this to spread the word.
OVER THE TOP FOR ME AND HES NO BRUCE LEE, BUT PUT HIM IN HIS PROPER CONTEXT IN ALL FAIRNESS HE WOULD APPEALS TO THIS NEW GENERATION, IT JUST DON'T GRAB ME. IF THEIRS A ASIAN MARTIAL ARTIST OUT THERE THATS GRACEFUL IN A CAT LIKE MANNER WITH HIS MARTIAL ARTS SKILLS I WANT TO SEE HIM, OTHER WISE KEEP HIM. PEACE
Its funny that people say " he wouldnt stay a chance against brook" , i allways thought he was a terrible mma fighter and people said no one could take him...OVERREEM is all i have to say! He fell from a bodypunch! But no doubt this movie kicks ass!
Bruce Lee was first to portray (fictional character) Chen Zhen in 1972 movie "Fist of Fury". In 1994 Jet Li took the role of Chen Zhen(Fist of Legend). In 1995 Donnie Yen played Chen Zhen in a TV series "Fist of Fury (A-TV)", however the ending was not clear whether Chen Zhen died at the end. Those who have watched the TV series would have been glad to see Donnie Yen re praise his role in "Return of Chen Zhen" , but story doesn't seem to carry on from any of the previous products.
@MrSonyfanatic It's not. This scene is from Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen. Chen Zhen was a character that was famously portrayed by Bruce Lee in Fists of Fury. Hence the title and description of this video.
Wing Chun doesn't have kicks over the waist. The main philosophy of wing chun is that the humans have 2 difference triangles one from the waist until the head and one that is upside into the legs. Each triangle can't beat the other one... But what am talk about?? is's just a movie...
@tonysuthechineseguy It's not a sequel if you watched the movie, many stories are told about Chen Zhen, all these twist and turns I heard about him don't quite match not to mention Chen Zhen is fictional.
i know it is just amovie and when i criticize him that doesnt mean that i dont respekt him, i just like this movie makers to respekt our minds that is all , i am just tired from movie in which one man defeats a whole army or gang... kung fu is a martial art but it is not realistic , i am speaking from experince, mma actually is more like Kung Fu Sanda, boxind, wrestling , kickboxing and Brasilianische Jiu-Jitsu. infact it has so much littel to do with kung fu , karate, etc...
when are we going to stop this fantasies, this is all nonsense ,, a man kicks 100 men ha ha ha ha
i grantie it, this man will not last a round with an mma fighter.. i would like to see him with brook lesner:-). as kid i belived this movies i trained kung fu and i was bretty good in training till once i was in a street fight and i kept kicking the guy and he kept comming back he is not falling from one kick then it turned to an mma fight which has nothing to do with kung fu...
Bruce learned boxing at St. Francis Xavier's College at 12 ,he was High School Boxing Champion and 1958 Crown colony Cha Cha Champion of Hong Kong.Bruce lee learned many types of fighting styles like karate, Wu Tai Chi Chuan (also known as Ng-ga) and Jing Mo Tam Tui for the twelve sets. Lee was trained in the martial arts Choy Li Fut, Western Boxing, Épée fencing, Judo, Praying Mantis Kung-fu, Hsing-I, and Jujitsu.and Taekwondo from master Jhoon Goo Rhee, .
bruce lee learned Wu style tai chi chuan from his father and didnt learn wing chun from ip man until he was 13,he left china to live in the USA at 18.
where did he learn shaolin kung fu? it wasnt in china.
HAH!! DY does know Kung Fu no doubt. But to compare him to Bruce Lee??? LOL!! Not even close. What has DY done for martial arts? Did he develop his own style? Etc.
donnie yen acted a lot like bruce lee here.. but if the story is actually correct.. then it would be bruce lee who is acting along the lines of Yip Man.. also known and spelled as ip man
@wthbrosiff59 Donnie is mimicking the fight scene from Chinese Connection(Fist of Fury as it was in Hong Kong and then the name was changed as it made it's way to the states) Or Maybe Bruce's teacher told him about a fight he once had in china and Bruce used this as an inspiration for his movies! Who knows but no one did this scene better than Bruce
this movie was a burce lee character that bruce lee portrayed who was called chen zhen, and donnie got the chance to play as bruce lees character in this film called the legend of chen zhen
@chrisjeetkunedo1 siiii gracias por el nombre asi lo encontre "Legend Of The Fist: Return Of Chen Zhen" lo encontre en 3 parte por fileserver xD ahora a disfrutar dela pelicula (Y)
wasnt it Bruce lee that said only when you test your style in live combat you could see if your technique worthy of adoption. i know Bruce would have fought in the UFC etc if he was in his prime and be a phenom but wouldnt he have adapted his style like jeet kune do / Jun fan gung fu.just like mma fighters are doing today .He did say he wanted his followers not to cling to styles, patterns or moulds. jkd is striking, grappling, kicking and trapping which led to the creation of MMA
@davecymru1 you're just ignorant to compare chinese martial arts which were created for more than 1000 years with a recent invention which is just a mixture of what we already knew! mma is not a creation of artists, its just an actual trend
@ipfan1 was Bruce lee ignorant to compare many martial arts styles to form JKD. Bruce upset all the traditional Kung Fu supporters by forming JKD and allowing people outside of china to learn martial arts. he proved his style was better by fighting those who said differently. history will prove MMA isnt a trend but an important part of the evolution of fighting. why didnt Bruce want his followers clinging to styles , patterns and moulds? because they arent fluid but predictable to defeat
@davecymru1 you're wrong, bruce lee invented many things like ip man or leung bik but if he didn't died so young, he would have realize the reason why he was so strong! Because of his shaolin training and not because of inventions... Yip Man was also impressed by leung Bik but at the end, he returned to the Basic Wing chun.
why is it that 'kids' know nothing except mma when it comes to combat. its true that there are no wing chun, jeet kun do, or aikido champions in mma. but that doesnt mean just because they dont participate is that there arent any good ones out there. its true that street fights are different than action flicks. but thats also true for marital arts. they too are practiced differently in the street. if a true street fight would happen between mma and say, jeet kun do, anything can happen.
@benjaxrivera I agree man! Another thing that annoys the hell out of me is how "kids" judge fighter of there appearance or there style yeah know? Each style is equilaly the same, all effective, all un-effective.. In there own ways. A good fighter never compares two styles or there opponent etc. Which is hard to find nowadays.
MMA has evolved fighting more in the last 15 years than any martial arts style in the last 2000 years. like Ip Man did with Kung Fu and picked the best bits to make Win Chun, MMA has done this with all styles.
@chuckles2035 . i would never slag off Bruce lee or his Master IP Man.
Bruce was the first world widly recognised martial arts star and first to teach westerners martial arts. Without Bruce Lee Martial arts wouldnt be what it is today,it would still be a secret chinese fighting style, Today MMA has evolved fighting to the point no one style is dominant.
where are the Win Chun or Kung Fu fighters in the MMA scene. where are the Win Chun champions.there are none and will never be one.
sijo.jay is correct this is the final fight scene of legend of the fist not ip man 3. also agree with roched0 bruce had his day but wouldnt last in the mma scene. he is a legend though. in my opinion without bruce lee martial arts and mma wouldnt be as popular or what it is today. love the yip man movies and recomend you watch them, if you havent already.
@davecymru1 lol you apparently know nothing about Bruce Lee, most MMA fighters wouldn't be able to hold a candle to Lee, Lee was the REAL deal, one of the last TRUE martial arts practitioners. He lived it, he breathed it he was an embodiment of it. MMA fighters are one dimensional and simply posers in comparison.
@chuckles2035 This is probably the only thing you said correctly. I have studied JKD from one of the foremost experts on the system, Sifu Lamar Davis, and Bruce Lee in real life is nothing like the Bruce Lee on the Silverscreen that most of these people base their misguided perceptions on. Bruce in his prime would dominate in MMA!
What's the Japanese guy using? Looks like Aikido.

@ChadMaestrodotcom story wise i think is sequel to jet li's movie forgot the title of that one though
tonysuthechineseguy 1 month ago
@tonysuthechineseguy It's not a sequel if you watched the movie, many stories are told about Chen Zhen, all these twist and turns I heard about him don't quite match not to mention Chen Zhen is fictional.

i know it is just amovie and when i criticize him that doesnt mean that i dont respekt him, i just like this movie makers to respekt our minds that is all , i am just tired from movie in which one man defeats a whole army or gang... kung fu is a martial art but it is not realistic , i am speaking from experince, mma actually is more like Kung Fu Sanda, boxind, wrestling , kickboxing and Brasilianische Jiu-Jitsu. infact it has so much littel to do with kung fu , karate, etc...
pharohsnowy 1 month ago
@pharohsnowy you do know this movie is based on real events of the man who trained bruce lee right
Sincere74141 4 weeks ago
when are we going to stop this fantasies, this is all nonsense ,, a man kicks 100 men ha ha ha ha
i grantie it, this man will not last a round with an mma fighter.. i would like to see him with brook lesner:-). as kid i belived this movies i trained kung fu and i was bretty good in training till once i was in a street fight and i kept kicking the guy and he kept comming back he is not falling from one kick then it turned to an mma fight which has nothing to do with kung fu...
pharohsnowy 1 month ago
@pharohsnowy thats why this is called a movie!
UrbanSexyMan 1 month ago
@pharohsnowy This dude is Donnie Yen, who posses tons of the deadliest Martial Arts ever to known man kind.
Donnie Posses MMA before Brook even thought of starting. (respect for Brook)
It is Donnie Yen, Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan who where using real MMA before the ring MMA strated out.
KUNG FU is a MARTIAL ARTS, and when you posses mutliple Martial Arts styles wich many include Kung fu it is called MIXED MARTIAL ARTS (MMA)
And btw this is just a movie, Brook would respect Donnie Yen.

HAH!! DY does know Kung Fu no doubt. But to compare him to Bruce Lee??? LOL!! Not even close. What has DY done for martial arts? Did he develop his own style? Etc.

Donaldcomic 1 month ago
donnie yen acted a lot like bruce lee here.. but if the story is actually correct.. then it would be bruce lee who is acting along the lines of Yip Man.. also known and spelled as ip man
wthbrosiff59 1 month ago
@wthbrosiff59 Donnie is mimicking the fight scene from Chinese Connection(Fist of Fury as it was in Hong Kong and then the name was changed as it made it's way to the states) Or Maybe Bruce's teacher told him about a fight he once had in china and Bruce used this as an inspiration for his movies! Who knows but no one did this scene better than Bruce
vincespell 1 month ago
; if only Bruce Lee was still alive - he would've showed Donnie Yen how it's really done :)

HOTMUSICRAP 1 month ago 2
wasnt it Bruce lee that said only when you test your style in live combat you could see if your technique worthy of adoption. i know Bruce would have fought in the UFC etc if he was in his prime and be a phenom but wouldnt he have adapted his style like jeet kune do / Jun fan gung fu.just like mma fighters are doing today .He did say he wanted his followers not to cling to styles, patterns or moulds. jkd is striking, grappling, kicking and trapping which led to the creation of MMA
davecymru1 1 month ago
@davecymru1 you're just ignorant to compare chinese martial arts which were created for more than 1000 years with a recent invention which is just a mixture of what we already knew! mma is not a creation of artists, its just an actual trend
ipfan1 1 month ago
@ipfan1 was Bruce lee ignorant to compare many martial arts styles to form JKD. Bruce upset all the traditional Kung Fu supporters by forming JKD and allowing people outside of china to learn martial arts. he proved his style was better by fighting those who said differently. history will prove MMA isnt a trend but an important part of the evolution of fighting. why didnt Bruce want his followers clinging to styles , patterns and moulds? because they arent fluid but predictable to defeat
davecymru1 1 month ago
@davecymru1 you're wrong, bruce lee invented many things like ip man or leung bik but if he didn't died so young, he would have realize the reason why he was so strong! Because of his shaolin training and not because of inventions... Yip Man was also impressed by leung Bik but at the end, he returned to the Basic Wing chun.
ipfan1 1 month ago
there only one bruce lee dont forgette that.
Mr183055 1 month ago
why is it that 'kids' know nothing except mma when it comes to combat. its true that there are no wing chun, jeet kun do, or aikido champions in mma. but that doesnt mean just because they dont participate is that there arent any good ones out there. its true that street fights are different than action flicks. but thats also true for marital arts. they too are practiced differently in the street. if a true street fight would happen between mma and say, jeet kun do, anything can happen.
benjaxrivera 1 month ago
@benjaxrivera I agree man! Another thing that annoys the hell out of me is how "kids" judge fighter of there appearance or there style yeah know? Each style is equilaly the same, all effective, all un-effective.. In there own ways. A good fighter never compares two styles or there opponent etc. Which is hard to find nowadays.
wildchildnation1996 1 month ago
MMA has evolved fighting more in the last 15 years than any martial arts style in the last 2000 years. like Ip Man did with Kung Fu and picked the best bits to make Win Chun, MMA has done this with all styles.
davecymru1 1 month ago
@chuckles2035 . i would never slag off Bruce lee or his Master IP Man.
Bruce was the first world widly recognised martial arts star and first to teach westerners martial arts. Without Bruce Lee Martial arts wouldnt be what it is today,it would still be a secret chinese fighting style, Today MMA has evolved fighting to the point no one style is dominant.
where are the Win Chun or Kung Fu fighters in the MMA scene. where are the Win Chun champions.there are none and will never be one.

sijo.jay is correct this is the final fight scene of legend of the fist not ip man 3. also agree with roched0 bruce had his day but wouldnt last in the mma scene. he is a legend though. in my opinion without bruce lee martial arts and mma wouldnt be as popular or what it is today. love the yip man movies and recomend you watch them, if you havent already.
davecymru1 1 month ago
@davecymru1 lol you apparently know nothing about Bruce Lee, most MMA fighters wouldn't be able to hold a candle to Lee, Lee was the REAL deal, one of the last TRUE martial arts practitioners. He lived it, he breathed it he was an embodiment of it. MMA fighters are one dimensional and simply posers in comparison.
chuckles2035 1 month ago
@chuckles2035 This is probably the only thing you said correctly. I have studied JKD from one of the foremost experts on the system, Sifu Lamar Davis, and Bruce Lee in real life is nothing like the Bruce Lee on the Silverscreen that most of these people base their misguided perceptions on. Bruce in his prime would dominate in MMA!
