Great technique. I'm a pencil / ink portrait artist myself. Awesome job! And those who have a problem with keeping them the same size, measure the width with your pencil. Also shading with a tourtullion makes all the difference. It's paper rolled to a point for shading bliss.

I actually use ballpoint for my drawings too :D...it really looks like you may use the same kind of shading I do, but I have MUCH higher contrasts on my pictures with a lot of skin folds and detail :P

@randomasiangeek try takeing mesurments of the first eye on the paper thedistance from the edges the length of the eye the width, or you could do it the easy way and scan the eye to your computer flip it so its oposite in something like the paint program then trace it on the paper in pencil and go from there with the shading.

like so many other videos i have seen, i leave a positive comment. your drawing is skillful. However you need to recognise your limits with an eye. its all about breaking certain boundries with your skill. for example you drawing an eye... the eye itself is great, however. people want to see full body drawings. many will not wish to see the eye alone, no matter how amazing the eye may be. humans have low attention span. an eye is not interesting enough, you're nearly there... keep it up.

As soon as you pick up a drawing tool, and as soon as you take a piece of paper, your imagination is running wild. It's your own little world put onto a simple piece of paper. There is lots of ways to shade with a ballpoint pen.. I personally use crosshatching, and a very, very light touch.. Its all about the practice.. When you have "mastered" the art of drawing with a ballpoint, its an amazing tool.. check out my channel to see the biggest and most detailed ballpoint pen drawing you will probably ever see. Its taken my 10 months so far, working on it allmost every day.

really...guys...so what he outlined it in pencil first...thats the most common thing to do...the true skill is in the shading with the pen...really good job...its somewhat stylized but i really like it...and art doesnt necessarily mean you draw with pencil first...there are plenty of artists who just wing it...there are also other drawing media that are just as forgiving as graphite...like charcoal, conte crayon, colored pencil...lots of others an artist might start with...art doesnt have laws

i dont see a pencil drawing. i dont think he had a pencil version i think he did this free hand with a ballpoint like he said. and it doesnt matter what ball point you use. it can be cheep or expensive. the shading technique is done by practicing alot. it takes a while to build up a nice smooth gradient.

Bic ballpoint pens are the best to draw, i use them to draw everything!

Uhh, it can be kind of difficult, but you have to draw pretty lightly. Kind of difficult at first, but one can get used to it eventually.
