I think what it feels like it's missing is an actually climactic, high-tension part. It never really feels like it's overly tense or energy-packed like a great many other 'final battle' type of tunes, it just feels overall like it has a very small fluctuation of energy.

I think the something missing is the continuation of that choir... it has a grandiose, melancholy beginning, and then just goes into straight-up guitar and loses the choir, the bells and the ambiance. As you said, though, it's still good - but it could have been so much better had it have left 1, 2, or all 3 of those other elements in.

Your right, I got this empty feeling like somethings missing too, I think some heavy orchestral low brass would sound perfect if given a melody with this in the backround, but thats just imo
