but Petafilia is a rule for western men mostly, no gods or force of nature would follow rules from the west we are a very unintended people, just look how many people belief in Christianity. but i would not date anyone under 18.
From the POV of actually living along side the Faithful, and being desirous of building and maintaining a sustainable, just society however....UUUUUGGGHHHHH.
@dfarmer1584 If you believe that the world is in "end times" and isn't going to be around for much longer then it doesn't make much sense to try and work out a sustainable or just society. Any effort put into sustainable infrastructure is simply wasted. Any effort at justice is similarly wasted because god's judgement will take precedence.
Despite many years of personally engaging in these types of debates, and years of individual research into the key areas of human knowledge germane to core conflicts of these debates, I am still consistently amazed by the willful and obvious self-deception that is the defining characteristic of The Faithful. The wonder I experience is never diminished each time I observe a Faithful attempting to square the circle of objective reality. From an anthropological angle they are amazing creatures.
@dfarmer1584 What I find very interesting about the "faith" mind set is that it can be a particularly focused kind of blindness. I know people who are intelligent critical thinkers who can analyse and weigh up the evidence to come to a meaningful conclusion on virtually any topic with the exception of 1. It's like they have a blind spot in their minds that prevents them from applying the same criteria to their faith as they would for anything else in their lives. Quite creepy, in fact.
@Orca40 I wouldn't classify paedophillia as a belief either. What meant to convey is that paedophiles often believe that it's OK for them to have sex with children because they "love" them. I am not prepared to accept that a belief that results in the harm of other people is worthy of respect.
I agree that no idea is above critizism... However not all religious people are bigoted and hateful. To some there religion is a big part of who they and there purpose in life. Peolpe don't believe these things for the sake of believeing them. If your going to try and take away that happiness/joy,comfort, fulfilment and purpose in life from people then what your going to give them in it's place?
Please don't take offense i'm not trying to offend anyone it's just how i feel.
@DowntherabbithoIe I do not believe that all religious people are bigoted and hateful. To say that would be an unrealistic generalisation. The argument that religion gives people a "purpose" and comfort is something I have a hard time understanding, though. The "purpose" offered by Christianity is nothing more or less than eternal slavery to an evil, sadistic and jealous psychopath. I think that people should raise the bar when seeking their purpose.
@thatgaybloke As for providing comfort - does it really? Is the comfort of a lie, of self delusion really helpful? Do the "believers" really believe? I see religious people crying at funerals when, for them with their promise of eternal life, it should be a time to celebrate and be happy. The only thing the popular religions offer is easy answers. Unfortunately those answers are wrong and if you look around you, you can see where those wrong answers can lead.
*The only thing the popular religions offer is easy answers*.
That's a bit of an ignorant statement. You honestly think you know how every religious person thinks and feels and what there religion means to them? So much for live and let live. (sigh)
@DowntherabbithoIe I have no idea how a religious person thinks or feels since I don't share their superstitious belief. How a person feels about their religion has no bearing on whether I believe religion offers easy answers. I come to that conclusion from observing the evidence.
Jesus may not be mute but he sure is will-less. The fact that everything Jesus will do is already written in stone he's nothing but a puppet following the scenario.
@GluteusIlluminatus Good point. In a Universe that contains an omnipotent god, none of us have free will.
I think that "mute" is not a valid qualifier for zombies because they call out for brains, or make moaning noises. I was using Anthony's criteria. If we discount "mute" we have 5/5.
You should check my video response, where I make even more fun of Jesus, and it got approved as a video response to his video. (Though I think he only read the title of the video :-P Jesus is NOT a zombie) I argue that he is a lich king :D

Zombies aren't all mute. In Return of the Living Dead they speak, for example.

@BENY0HAMA This is true. The zombies in the remake of the George Romero "Dead" series seem to be much more dynamic than the lumbering originals.

Actually Zombies aren't mute. Zombies say all kinds of things, like "Send more Paramedics" and "Braaaaiiinnns" and "Urgh."
So just because Jebus can talk doesn't mean he wasn't a zombie.
