I don't understand how did make the shadows fall on the table look so realistic...I mean if I do the same thing on Maya Live then the shadows will be very stretched or have very different orientation because I don't understand shadow of a 3D on a 2D image sequence. Please reply. I am dying to know!!!
Hi.I have doubts in merging a track into 3d scene where 3d characters are already animated. When I import the track from Pftrack, it is so small when compared to the scene. Should I scale the camera and track? Then, if there is a scene where human and cgi character should interact, how will I find the placement of CG character in the scene? like how can I find the exact position on of the human character in the tracked scene? so that I can place the CG character near them? Please kindly reply me
So if you are using something as a reference like i did with the sharpie marker, then you will know the dimmensions of the object. That way you will have a real time reference in your 3d scene without having to be guessing where is what. Just google "how to calculate focal length". So back to PFtrack go to the tracking parameters and input your focal length and start the solution. Another trick for better tracking is name some of the key tracked points. Specially your origin.

@shakthiscott there are a few tricks when you shoot the video first..
1.- have an idea of the real dimensions of your scene.
2.- know your focal lenght
3.- scale your scene in PFtrack accordingly.
Once you have tracked your scene before you start the solution of the schene make sure all your settings are correct.
When you model your scene in you 3d program make sure the scale and also the unist correspont to your real scene.

@vulad Once everything is done just import your tracks to your 3d software and tweak the scale of your scene for better results.
