  • what i missed about your older videos was how you always played the rift you were teaching in the very start of the video, usually twice.

it might just be a personal preference of mine, but it's nice to know what you're going to learn in the video

no offence but i find myself skipping all the tutorial stuff and looking all over the video to see what you're actually teaching.

just a minor gripe from me, but i'd love to see your videos as structured as they used to be

  • @981407036x Did they? Can you give me an example, and I'll copy that :)

  • @Dmanlamius76 ah i was thinking of something along the lines of what you did here /watch?v=Zzat2Ftj_fw&feature=relmfu where it starts off with the riff right away

granted it isnt one of your older videos but it'll still be a huge help, in my opinion, to have the full riff at the start before you go into the lesson

  • Great job as usual. I don't comment nearly as much as I should but wanted you to know this was fantastic for me. Singing is great too. Thanks for all of your work.

  • you have a really cool singing voice, man! =)

  • @0000song0000 not to mention singing expressions lmao

  • Not commented in a while! Be doing a weekend of catch up on your vids. Love this rendition, still making top tutorials, stick at it bro.

  • @ruaridouglas Thanks man! :)

  • never sing again

  • @DEQR Only if you never type again. Deal?

  • @DEQR - No - he should KEEP SINGING !! Loved this video. Love all these videos - all really helpful.

I especially liked "fumb, fumb, finger". :-)

    Keep slappin' !!!

  • @MrCarbohydrate79 Thankyou :)

  • @44greebo Gotta love the big bad brave ones that give people crap over youtube. Well done, you. I'm sure you feel really big now. Flex those muscles, big boy. Rah.

  • @44greebo Needless. You do realise that in saying that now everyone will come on here and think your the tool...Simple common sense.

  • Wow love this:)

Next time people see my bass and ask me to play something for them I will play/sing them into a suicidal depression! ;)

  • ehi can you do a bass lesson of this /watch?v=HPBXAHSOsos ???

    thank's

  • Playing this at an open mic night on friday. Always loved the song, thanks for the inspiration/ reminder :)

  • GOD ha

  • Great, very helpfull and altruistic.

  • @nardibarrios Thankyou :)

  • hey Dman.

i have been with your lessons for some time now. and this is again a great lesson!

i got a question about the book tho: It says "Slapped, tapped, funked, punked, strummed and more" as i havent put much time into slapping yet, wont i be able to play some stuff right? or is there a tutorial to it?

    thanks for the awesome lesson!

  • @androssie The slapped, tapped, punked, funked this is just a description of the 61 free riffs that come with the book. You can choose to ignore them if you want, as they aren't part of the actual book. The book focuses on, practice, finger picking, playing with three fingers, jedi bass tricks (ideas for motivation etc), composing simple bass lines, and some simple timing exercises :)

  • Thanks for the lessons mate. Not only have they helped me, but getting to listen to a London accent reminds me of back home. So easy to listen to. Started guitar 11 months ago, and joined a band two months later as the bass. Of course i was well rubbish, but with your help, and a bit of dedication, i've improved nuff, and helped write 4 songs. Cheers mate. Keep it up. p.s Wish i could buy your book, but a bit hard and expensive to get it sent 'ere, but i bet it's s***t hot.

  • @2JustJoin No probs! :)

  • loving the cash facial expressions

  • for the chorus, which strings are u strumming? just d and g? or a,d,g? thanks

  • @gvd11 Ok, it's all on the D & G, until the last chord, which is A, D & G :)

  • @Dmanlamius76 awesome thanks!, thats what I was thinking

  • i was so pumped when i saw this on my homepage and was totally hoping it was the NIN song. it is!

  • maybe some jack lawrence soon?

  • do you do lessons? where? and how much?

  • @TheLouiedaniel No-where near Cyprus my friend...:(

  • Disagree, the singing is good. Thanks for the pinky here-index here, it helps me focus on technique. Keep em comming D-Man:)

  • God... I'm absolutely brutal at chords.... Fine at everything else... just chords :(

  • Cash version > All versions

  • @MforceArts It's very good. But my fav of the two is Reznors. Just because I played that album to death when I was young, and those lyrics and arrangement are his, from his own pissed off soul. I feel like that about most originals. Although someone covering them can sympathise, I'm not sure they can get that exact feeling being felt when it was penned. Don't get me wrong, though. Cash's version is excellent and very powerful. It's almost like they are two different songs.

  • @Dmanlamius76

Haha thats cool!, Johnny cash's version is one of the few songs i have heard in the past few year that really hold a lot of emotion and really tells a story, i love it :D

  • @MforceArts Yea man, its great. Isn't there stuff surrounds it when he covered it? Is that when he was ill? Oh, and is that actually his wife in the video? Didn't she die around that time as well? Powerfull stuff.

  • @Dmanlamius76

Yes his wife died shortly after that if i'm right, the he died and his house burnt down

  • @MforceArts wow...

  • @Dmanlamius76

Yeah really a sad story, You should look it up on youtube, there's a big interview/documentary with him in his final days, it's really worth time, Btw i forgot to mention: Nice lesson as always man!

  • @MforceArts Thanks man! Yea, I will definitely do that. Really interested now. Thanks for the heads up :)

  • @Dmanlamius76

    No problem mate! :D

  • i might get it chris

  • love this song

  • Fumb Fumb Thinger? You mean Thumb Thumb finger......slip of the tongue and a cockney thing going on! I do like your approach :)

  • @flobblebop I blame too much Only fools and horses in my 'Yoof'!

  • why not thumb finger finger?

  • @BassThatGuy I cover that in the book. It's just an alternative. Anything is fine :)

  • @Dmanlamius76 banjo rolls?

  • @BassThatGuy No thanks, I've just eaten.

  • @Dmanlamius76 dont' know what a banjo roll is then?

  • @BassThatGuy I do, yes. I was just being silly :)

  • fam fam finga
