People always want to blame their bad fortune, the negative aspects and events of their lives on other people, on the weather, on circumstance - anything external to themselves.

I want to blame (read: thank) Napoleon Hill for allowing me to realise that, although I may not be responsible for my past, I am also not a victim to it as long as I recognize my power to decide my future. Napoleon Hill's message came to me exactly when I needed it - and I am so grateful for it.

Of course there are many circumstances where one must exert this posiive attitude, but it's very important distinguish the ego's desires (yang force), from subconscious' desires (yin force)and soul's desires (middle way path).

DrBruce97, the irony of all your disbelief in the power of the mind is this.... what you believe becaomes YOUR reality. Just do a little research on the subconscious. It is the JOB of the subconscious to prove everything that you believe is true. If in FACT you do not believe the power of the mind the subconscious will in FACT hide from you all proof that it does have power. Once you believe, truly BELIEVE you will have it revealed to you the TRUTH of how our lives work. Amazing stuff...

I read somewhere that Napoleon Hill died in poverty. It was from some sales letter revealing several shocking "facts". Whether it is actually true or not, I don't know. Has anyone else heard this before?

If it IS true, then it doesn't exactly build my confidence in what he is preaching....
