  • good home for snakes. given how poisonous australian snakes are do you want that? everytime i have come across a poisonous snake in the bush by surprise its been a woodpile that looks like yours. if you have kids, i think you should use loping shears to make small chips or get a wood chipper. you can make a wood chipper out of an old lawn mower.

  • Sorry mate, realize that when you mound up mulch high on the trunk you're asking for trouble.

    Please understand~sure some mulch is good, yet by doing what's here will:

    1. rot the trunk (mulch holds moisture, we want that for the roots not the trunk).

    2. will cause the tree to send out roots into the mulch instead of the ground as it should be.

    Again, if you want a tree/plant to thrive, don't do as you've shown. I've seen way too much of the damage caused by this unnatural practice.
