I'm reading the Lord of the Rings, and am about 1/3 of the way through the third book. They are fantastic! Love them (and loved the prequel The Hobbit best of all.) They are exceptionally descriptive, long-winded, and rich in myth, magic, and mayhem!
I have a kindle and am reading more because I can make the letters larger which helps with my old eyes. I have recently been reading John Steinbeck's Grapes of Wrath and East of Eden. If you haven't read them they are masterpieces!
So happy to see that you are pregnant again. Lucky you.
I love reading too, so I now have an ebook reader because I was running out of space for books. It's really strange how I seem to read quicker on this ebook reader than physical books. I'm currently re-reading Cujo on it.
I know what you mean about Sookie. She's constantly talking about her blond hair, working on her tan and what clothes she's putting on, but it's worth struggling through. Shame certain characters are either not in the books at all or are very different from the series.
Nice to see and hear you again, and yes I missed you and your energy.
My most recent book read was The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo....not for everyone, but I quite enjoyed it. because I could relate....my husband was not able to even watch the movie.
do you like American humor? these books will make you lol... start with 'one for the money' if you do search for Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum novels
most recent....hmm..... oh my gosh have you read Beastly? i think u would love that one but the last book i read was the first of the vampirates series. not too bad really:)
before that i read the newly released house of night book. i got my friend hooked on that series lol
It does seem like this little one is stretching out a bit more than Dylan. I have a friend who is around 4 months along & she's barely showing. No matter, though....you look great as always.
I just read "Nemesis" - book #20 of the Falco Series by Lindsey Davis. It's a mystery series set in ancient Rome. I'd recommend starting with book #1, "The Silver Pigs".
I like you haven't read much lately, but I did read the Twilight series which I loved
I did however go to Lyme Park Cheshire recently AKA Pemberly from Pride & Prejudice and I bought a book by. Linda Berdoll called 'Mr Darcy takes a wife'. It's all about what happened next. A very good read and good understanding of the characters 9/10
I will look at what others recommend. I am in for a new book ;0)
Enjoy your camping and I hope it gets a wee bit warmer I filled in the questionnaire to D xx
The last book I read was How the Irish Saved Civilization and I liked it even better than I thought. It's non fiction about how while the rest of Europe was having a barbarian type dark age, a few monks in Ireland were keeping writing and art and literature alive on their tiny island far away from it all.
I had a lot artsy books recently and channelling books etc., but the book I loved the most and that I almost ate was Patrick Suesskind The Perfume .
But I must say, that I am not sure if it will be the same experience in english, like it was in german. He has a fluid, wonderful metaphoric kind of style to discribe the world of smell in the maincharacters perception. Love it, love it, love it. It is a dark story for sure, if you seen the movie, but the way this is written is just brilliant.
I am now reading The Liar by Stephen Fry and I really like his writing style. :)
