hey! nice video ! um im getting a golden retriever in about a week and i wanted to try this do you know where i can find one of the automatic ball launchers?
Awesome! And a great job editing! I love that the "Yippee-yiy-yo" is timed perfectly with Daisy's flying catch at 0:27. If I only knew about this thing 6 years ago... my GSD is just beginning to mellow out.
I take our dogs out twice a day. Once in the morning and a shorter walk in the evening, sometimes more like swimming in the lake during the summer. Just have lots and lots of patience, never give up and don't forget that they will only respond to praise. Dogs never learn by shouting at them, telling them off or losing your temper. Persistence and patience will pay off. Start early and using treats you could get a puppy to sit, stay or any basic command, you'll be surprised.
It took 2 days to train her. She would already respond to the word 'Leave' so I just held a container under her mouth and called it a bucket, so everytime she would 'leave' the ball it would fall into the 'bucket (lots and lots of praise). When she could repeatedly do that, I would point to the ball launcher (calling it a bucket) and tell her to 'Leave the ball in the bucket', she soon caught on and now plays outside on her own.
Im going to be doing alot of research on border collies so i can understand them more but before i do im going to ask you some questions since your border collie totally rocks lol.
My first question is how often do you have to take your dog on a walk and for how long as a puppy.
and was it easy to train your dog commands such as sit, stay, down etc, what method did you use?
Well thats it for now, cant really think right now. the questions will pop in my head randomly so till then..
Poor ball-junkie... that's not what Border Collies were bred for...

How many Border Collies does it take to change a light-bulb? Just one. And he'll check your wiring while he's at it to make sure it is up to code!
