Apple is the one company that has a place you can sit down with someone who will resolve any issue.

They have some flat rate where they take an older computer and fix everything in it and replace the battery and screen for a couple of hundred dollars.

This that happened with Colin's Macbook has been a deciding factor on me sticking with Windows. I can't see spending over a thousand dollars on a laptop that dies in a year and a half. My Compaq Presario is over 3 years old and still doing good. I dont know what happened to make his last for only a short time, but that really is a shame. :( Was it a lemon, or is this par for the course with Macbooks?

Ridiculous as in how? You don't have to love them, or buy one, but ridiculous is not a word for them. Unless you mean ridiculously awesome. They are gorgeous machines, that work very, very well. You can't take that away from them.

rediculous in the sence that everything is impossible to find in them, they do not work well, have hardly any ram, cant run any games or decent editing softwear without freezing up and making you have to move your timeline at 1 frame a seccond

No games? They CAN run games. They have some of the best editing software, and have never froze for me. Things are easy to find once you get used to the OS layout. Yes, it's different than Windows. But, you have to give it time. And RAM is upgradeable. What MAC are you talking about? The iMac now goes up to 16GB and the Pro can hold up to 32GB. That's 'hardly any ram'?

They are brilliantly working computers. Fast as hell, unless you're using one from 1995. Never frozen on me before, and that is the case with most mac users. The occasional freeze happens to some, yeah. But they aren't PERFECT. And again, depending on the MAC you're referring to, they can hold up to 32GB of RAM. So please tell me how that's barely any?

I never get on with the Apple mice. Im a laser mouse person and prefer the Microsoft mice as I think MS have it right in terms of mice and keyboards. Multi-touch is cool, but for £50 I can have a high end wireless laser mouse. Stuff multi-touch, Im too used to using what I have.
